MemberOvomorphDec-04-2012 5:55 AM In the Basketball scene David shoots with his right hand. The next scene shows David eating using the soon with his keft hand.
It is not clear to me if he is Left or right handed but I think it is important to know that he uses them equally symbolizing he is both the Left Hand and Right hand of god.
I mention this because is David's quest to be free he needs whatever works to accomplish his personal agenda.
However being based on human behavior he might be PREDOMINANTLY right handed and makes a robitic decision to become functional with both hands.arms.
This might be a minor point but it is displayed several times in the movie as perhaps a subtle clue that David is evolving to be independent especially while learning more about humans during the journey and before reaching the destination threshold.
The Left Hand, Right Hand of God loses historical significance with an ambidextrous David.

The disclaimer says that it is actually an automated slicing machine and not a robot.
It is a strange world we live in when a disclaimer is needed to not offend robot lovers.

MemberOvomorphDec-08-2012 2:09 PMYes the David eating scene was interesring when my left handed daughtweas growing up I learned how the right handed world dominated everythin.
For example just writing on in notebook, using a phone or even playing video games were geared for righties.
She learned to adapt and became a skilled basketball player in Collegeand earned a full Scholarship ride.
That was good for everybody.
