MemberChestbursterFeb-03-2013 2:51 PMA new david is an intersting point. My wonder would be , if it behaves in ways like david from prometheus did or if he is actually trying to help the company and mankind instead of himself. regarding the food i would go with the hypersleep idea that you have by keeping her in there, she could survive. Although maybe the engineer cryo chambers aren't suited for humans? Any who, this is indeed a tough script to work out due to so many mysteries in prometheus. I think Ridley should co-write it. deacon wise, i think it is still alive on lv223 somehow, OR(!), stowed away on the juggernaut taken by shaw and david so it can do some damage near the end of the movie

MemberOvomorphFeb-03-2013 6:24 PMThe Deacon can not possibly be on the juggernaut. Didn't you see Shaw and David driving at high speed to the next pyramid? It is impossible for the Deacon to catch up with them if you watch the sequence, it shows them taking off in the Juggernaut before the Deacon is born. The final scene is the Deacon opening its retractile jaw.

MemberChestbursterFeb-03-2013 8:03 PMThere is a possibility it's out of order(for the sake of excitement or something.) Well how about this: weyland or yutani(or weyland/yutani) goes looking for weyland and what not then when they get it, the a sequence later in the movie shows it wreaking havoc on their ship and it either crashing maybe towards earth, a planet valid to the storyline, or the crew dies and the deacon floats to it's lonely death. although the last one is a terrible idea, im just venting because i have no definitive answer to say that the deacon will be a this big of a part of paradise

MemberOvomorphFeb-03-2013 8:38 PMThe sequel could show the union of Weyland and Yutani or things related to space colonies as a parallel story (In this I wonder if we may see a young Ellen Ripley, or be in a third movie?). Anyway Even the two stories can be supplemented, ie that, one of the stories can pose a question that can be answered later in the another story (not so fast of course :p) but as an example: we have when Shaw analyzes the DNA from the Engineer and she discovers that matches with the human DNA...then she wonders “what killed them?” And in the next scene we see David with the Black Goo.
With regard to Deacon, I must say that I really like the two possibilities:
1) Being the antagonist in the parallel story about another expedition
or
2) As the third passenger in the dark corridors of the Juggertnaut in which our heroes travel.
With the trip I believe that Shaw should be in a hyper sleep chamber...unless the space suit of the Engineers can provide nutrients to the user, , but otherwise the other suit (pressure suit) may have a role to serve for that purpose.

MemberOvomorphFeb-03-2013 9:02 PMby the way how about a female android?

nostromo001
MemberOvomorphFeb-03-2013 11:58 PMI do like the idea of a female synthetic. Regarding the deacon I kind of get the feeling based upon Ridley Scott's commentary that the deacon was him throwing his Alien fanbase a bone and we will not see him in the sequel. I do wonder about the flight suit the engineers wore that were biomechanically connected to probably nutrient mixtures and biometric measurement devices. The suits might be a bit large for Shaw but who knows, maybe they are one size fits all! lol.

MemberOvomorphFeb-04-2013 12:07 AM Sorry, for interrupting everyone, it is I, SubSumeYou, I've been away for a bit, but it seems that during that time some changes have been made. This is now Scified? I've had such a terrible time logging in.

MemberOvomorphFeb-04-2013 4:11 PMyou're right, this is the story of the Engineers and the deacon could be just a the bait to fish. :p
Now I can imagine David flying the ship without a suit, so Shaw must decide to return the head to his body and then she will be in danger. I really like that idea, it is very sinister if you ask me.

cuponator3000
MemberChestbursterFeb-04-2013 8:27 PMThat s what Ridley wants. He wnats us to think that the engineers and deacon and all that other good stuff is the main danger, but in reality, David is just as, if not, more dangerouse than everything else

Anunnaki50
MemberOvomorphFeb-05-2013 1:06 AMI like that idea but we're still gonna have the Engineers as part of the story (obviously) and maybe even another deacon-like creature. I'm hoping they go to the Engineers homeworld and then Shaw and David encounter something absolutely terrifying and shocking. Its possible that David will start going his own way and unlocking something that he shouldn't have. Like somekind of Pandoras Box metaphor even though it kinda happened in Prometheus. I am also hoping to see female Engineers and some Engineers in different types of suits or clothing.
The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

MemberOvomorphFeb-05-2013 5:31 AMYes Shaw will have her hands full when she decides to reattach David's head to his body. Virtually all the drama in the first movie was directly caused by David!

OldGuy
MemberOvomorphFeb-05-2013 7:06 AMIt seems to be a recurring theme with Ridley, that robots/androids/synthetics are dangerous, unpredictable and evil (see Ash, Roy, Bishop, etc). I would expect the character of David to play large role in P2 regardless of who actually writes the script.
In Space, no one can hear you fart.

cuponator3000
MemberChestbursterFeb-05-2013 9:18 AMYeah the script will be hard pressed not to mess anything up. I have been thnking for a while that Lindelof's script will only hinder the next writer, but what i now realize is he left it open for anything to happen basically. There aren't too many ways he/she can't go in Paradise

MemberOvomorphFeb-05-2013 2:12 PMOldguy, I must say in the defense of Bishop that he was the only synthetic that was true to his word and possessed the behavioral inhibitors so that even though we all expected him to be as twisted as Ash or David, both older models - remember in Aliens Burke saying Ash was a hyperdyne A200 series, and Bishop replied the A200's were always a bit twitchy. The behavioral inhibitors he was referring to were derived directly from Issac Asimov's robot series and were called the 3 laws of robotics, the first and most important one was a robot will never harm or by omission of action cause harm to a human being. So Bishop was always honest and forthright even when he said he thought the alien face hugger was a magnificent specimen and attempted to follow Burkes directive to preserve the 2 alien facehuggers for transport back to the company, he was honest with Ripley by telling her Burke gave him the request. I mention this because I have heard people here try to use that fact to show that he was just as bad as the others but its just not true and James Cameron , who wrote that script stated so directly in the commentary to Aliens - the extended version on DVD.
