development of the engineers

The events on LV223 takes place millions of years after the sacrifice we see in the beginning of the movie. A lot of things can happen to a civilazation in just a few decades. And no when i put that in to perspective, it doesent have to be the same civilazation in the beginning of the film as in later on LV223. Our planet had a lot of empires the roman empire, the mongolian empire, sumerian empire, the egyptian and so on... Maby its the same with the engineers. Our history takes place on earth, their history takes/took place in many different places in the cosmos.

Remember when saddam was taken down, and the people of iraq tore down all the statues and images of him? Everything he stood for or symbolized had to vanish for the people to really feel victorious. or what about russia and soviet, the city of leningrad or stalingrad or Volgograd? ha city changing name several times due to who´s ruling the land at the time. I THINK that maby thats one of the reasons for the engineers on LV223 wanting to destroy what their enimies have created. They´re tearing down a statue in a sense,....maby... its just a theory. catch my drift?

One of the most important aspects to the Easter egg provided by Aliens CM involving the two engineer ships battling, was the logical conclusion that these were two separate factions of engineers at war. Shaw's discovery on LV223 that the engineers that at first created us, which was one of the reasons they went there in the first place, decided 2000 years ago to destroy us. Shaw was so concerned over this shift in missions, that she decided to travel to Paradise with David's help in navigation, to ask they engineers face to face why they created us and then changed their minds. People have postulated the two faction theory since the inception of Prometheus but until the release of Aliens CM along with its Easter egg, there was no support for this theory so it had little merit. That has now radically changed so this has become the leading theory regarding the change in engineer missions involving us. The time frame of 2000 years provides us with a strong clue that connects the motivation to destroy us with the death of Christ. Proponents of the 'Space Jesus' idea that Jesus was an emissary of ancient astronauts - engineers in this movie, suggest that the crucifixion of their emissary who taught universal love upset them and so they earmarked us for destruction, even though this is hardly the turn the other cheek - forgive your enemies - philosophy that Jesus espoused. I guess the engineers, according to this theory, were more -do as I say not as I do- people!
