davids head to lead engineers

so far that is a pretty basic thing that everyone has kicked around and i dont see why not. but, one thing i always think of, it would take yutani a long time to get to lv 223(i mean a long time!) then for them to go the engineer's homeworld.

This is an interesting idea, not because of the plot, but, rather, the idea of the Yutani connection. In fact, I would hope, truly hope, P2 helps connect the dots to the Alien series. It can still be subtle, but should be more than a shared universe. For instance, in the Alien series it is made clear the Co. knows about this species to some extent. They want the creature for bioweaponizing. But how do they know about the creature? P1 did not even attempt to address that one big question mark about the original series. I highly doubt P2 will be a major divided PoV story and will still focus on Rapace and Fassbender, which makes the idea of Yutani slim. However, Hollywood finds a way.

It sounds like you are suggesting in P2 that Weyland - yes its still Weyland corp and not Weyland-Yutani yet, sends an expedition to find out what happened to the Proemtheus, who then get into some temporary drama before following in Shaw and David's footsteps to Paradise. Most people realize that at some point Shaw will reattach David's head or else how will he navigate the ship? So the second part of your suggestion is not a strong idea and has some problems. Another problem is how are they going to be able to follow in David's footsteps unless they bring another synthetic who then is lucky enough to figure out the navigation systems on his own without having seen any engineers operate the ship first. Not that it can't be done but it does present some problems.

I'm not sure if the military issue has something to do with what Ridley Scott wants...those things are more Cameron style. I think Scott wants to show a threat that is difficult to combat and not cannon fodder for space marines. besides this whole philosophical vision, which I believe will become increasingly deeper. But the parallel story is a good idea, especially if it involves something about the companies or archaeological things about engineers.

but Then again would be like a puzzle to be slowly putting together...So the idea of an expedition to the home of the engineers is interesting.

Shambhala- We are of a mind, I am [i]so[/i] hoping for no space war, and I don't think Ridley would go there. As you know, I think Yutani could have followed them there, was maybe there all along, watching. Maybe thats how we get more humans in the action? The sequel could begin on LV223, with Yutani landing to investigate. With carnage the result, of course. They could also make their own discoveries which add to the puzzle. Also, if nothing else I'm sure the Prometheus was broadcasting to Weyland on Earth. They could piece together enough from that to get [i]really[/i] interested. And if Yutani didn't follow, they could at least intercept the info.

Why not just 2 characters ? Prometheus was a film like no other, why can't Prometheus 2 follow that up? I think P - 2 will have more Engineers and other Aliens, also flashback scenes, and Shaws Dad popping up somewhere. Theres a suggestion that Vickers is still alive, therefore informing anyone who lands on 226 of the evil that awaits.
