Okay, so let me get this straight, it wasn't "stupid" for Ripley to risk her life for a f cat, but it was "horrible writing" for Milburne to be mesmerized by a new animal species from the stand point of being a biologist nerd? Oh, but it was okay, because it made Ripley the hero. That makes it not illogical then? Then if Milburne's main purpose was to act as alien lunch in the plot line of a horror-scifi film, you could use the same justification, couldn't you? See how that works? You know what was also accused of plot holes when it came out? Alien. Because they didn't bother explaining where the eggs came from, etc. Hilariously, history repeats itself with people too accustomed to stupid movies that explain everything to you instead of bothering to make the audience think about what is not pointed out to them.
