MemberXenomorphMar-09-2015 1:07 AMmy ideas is that they should retcon averything after alien and make p1 - p2 - p3 - alien directors cut and the alien 5.
this way egg morphing is retained and the queen banished.

MemberPraetorianMar-09-2015 5:18 AMCool...I have always loved the egg-morph over the Queen!
Ridley-verse it is! :)

MemberOvomorphApr-29-2015 8:56 PMI agree fully! The Queen turned the xenomorphs from elegant, biomechanical nightmares to much more generic big space bugs. Egg-morphing is much more well...alien than behaving like ants or something, and much more horrifying. The xenos are now too familiar, too earthly. They need to be strange, scary, and ambiguous.

MemberOvomorphNov-09-2015 9:34 AMI also sorta agree, the egg morphing Brett cocoon sculpture in Giger's Alien was pretty creepy, as was Dallas still being alive whilst morphing into an egg, chilling. But I didn't hate the concept of the Queen in Aliens, as the egg morphing was in the directors cut of Alien means it's canon so I just surmised that the Xenomorph has a back up reproductive cycle.
Cameron's Aliens did rob the Xeno of it's Alienness and power somewhat, but at least he still tried to keep the lifecycle based on real world concepts which for me made the 1st movie so cool and creepy (parasitic reproductive cycle, embryos injected into living hosts), and at least he did something different than just rehashing Alien. I can see where you're coming from though oduodo, if done properly Alien 2 & 3 could have been effective body horror chillers, with people morphing/mutating into all sorts of hideous alien hybrids whilst still alive (Something I was sorta hoping they would do with Prometheus).
