Another Covenant theory

I am in the minority in thinking the tag belongs to Shaw.

Hmm. That is an interesting idea. My take is based on this new idea combined with an older one (Covenant was enroute elsewhere and picked up on the beacon from David’s location) someone else posed :

Prior to AC, another ship with a similar mission was sent to “Paradise” and contact was lost.

Later on, the Covenant was sent on its mission to a different location but receives the message from Paradise (presumably David) and changes course. This could answer how David was able to use familiar technology to send a message (not all agree it is David in that hologram).

Well, there is an air tight and iron clad theory lol!

The theory i have is covenant its not meant to land on paradise.

They get a signal from paradise in form of a music..and so they send a dropship with the crew to investigate. David sent the signal.

I dont see it logical that covenant is meant to colonize paradise.

If so weyland yutani are behind and aware of a lot of things and david is the answer.

the scene where daniels is saying 'we don't know what the f**k is out there' suggests that they are not meant to be there, it is logical to assume they have at least some data on where they r meant to be headed to with long range scans or a small expedition has already been. I think it will be similar to alien and they r in cryo when the company tells walter to alter course and they find out only when they wake up

I honestly can't say about the tags,but i don't recall her having any,but it's certainly possible she did.great theories guys.

I'm thinking that it's possible that it's a ship that went looking for the Prometheus,and picked up a distress signal from David like you guys said. 

I don't actually think whatever it is was meant to be there, maybe an ear piece or some other costume prop that comes loose

So far we are 4/4 agreeing the Covenant's initial destination was not Paradise.

 It certainly looks that way lol.

To clarify, I was not referring to the facehugger scene. I meant the part where someone held up what could have been a dog tag covered in slime.

xeno, I thought the ship is a colony ship with a hundred or so couples in stasis? it may be the only company ship that will be going anywhere near the 'paradise' system so is the obvious choice to redirect, just like the nastromo, regardless of risk to the passengers

ali81 are you referring to the dog tags?

dk, ah. I saw that on another thread. didn't look like dog tags and as xeno pointed out, I didn't see her wearing tags in Prometheus. it did look familiar though

About the ship looking for the Prometheus,i meant the potential first one not the Covenant(i should have made that more clear,sorry that one's on me guys)

this makes me think that either by way of an initial human ship or any resident engineers, there would logically be grown xenos/ protomotphs and neomorphs already on the planet when covenant lands. the planet would have been over run no?

There could be xenomorph presence but maybe in an underground hive and the Crew of the Covenant will unfortunate enough to run into them like in Aliens.Though those one's weren't underground.

from what I gather the trailor gives me the impression that there r only a few xenos and neos on the ship that r a threat to the crew but that obv doesn't say anything about outside the ship I guess. the pic of daniels and another crew member holding weapons back to back suggests to me they r surrounded

Less aliens would be my preference,but yeah alot of the pictures suggest a larger xenomorph presence.

im the same, though I love aliens, u just cant beat the whole isolated, dark cramped environment where only one or a couple of xenos r stealthily stalking the crew. I think lots of xenos just takes something away from it but for the idea david brings mass destruction to the planet, loads of aliens makes sense 

I think theres not only one xeno.

There will be at least 3 neomorphs.

I can think of a creature before covenant arrives..derivative from shaw or elder engineers,responsible for eggs if they dont make shaw making them...then whatever comes from shaw. But this creature would be revealed in the very end of the movie.

I just dont see them spoil everything in the trailer. We can expect more then neo or xeno

there has to be something that comes from the infected indigenous species already there, if there is any

From what is posted on this thread, it reinforces my thought that David is going to pull the old bait and switch on the Covenant crew.

I think so too.This brings up the thread about David's hair color.I think it'll be dark like Walter's,allowing him trade places much easier.

What if the protomorph is born from a human impregnated by the trilobite?

Yep. I see logic in shaw breeding a trilobite that attachs itself to a chained engineer david captured..would give a instersting scene between david and a elder engineer to know more about them .

I think its very cheap move for them to show the facehugger catching the captain in the first trailer...its like a very anscious and lame response to fans...alien is here bois get spoiled...maybe it doesnt catch him...maybe it does...but those eggs came from something...and that something would be cool if its shaw or the creature that came from the situation before covenant arrives...and leaving it as a ending scene unveiling itself from some place where is trapped by david.

Because of the different looking egg,I've thought what if Shaw some how layed it.It's a pretty gross thought.

I am not sure we should take the Music... thing as credible at the moment as its based off the 4Chan leak... which has a lot of holes in it...

I can in the 4Chan leak thread or my Trailer Analysis Thread go and cover flaws it had... and trailer highlights them.

We see 7 leave the Drop Ship but more could be on it, as the trailer does not show the full departing.... 5 of the 7 are above marked ***  There are TWO more who are hard to make out.. but due to clothing are not Bichir (Mercenary) but he is part of the crew....

And we dont see Rigby.. who we have to assume is infected from this Drop Ship... (but could have been from another prior and found latter).  but i assume Rigby is on the same one as Daniels.

so the Drop Ship would contain..  at least 10...  This assume the one person in Drop Ship landing party scene (in light coat) is Crudrup or Seimetz

If not then the ship has 11-12

On the Trailer Thread or 4Chan i can detail it more as to who is where at which point and who dies at which point... but i wont here as its maybe a Spoiler....
