Off the beaten path scifi movies

dk
MemberTrilobiteMarch 28, 2017What are your top 5 or 10 scifi movies you like that may not be well known? I am trying to get ideas since I have fallen way behind in movie watching. For instance, BigDave and ninXeno426 recommended Ex Machina and I watched and enjoyed it. I can only think of three at the moment but feel free to list your favourites.
1. Equilibrium
2. THX 1138 (early Lucas pre Star Wars)
3. Overdrawn at the Memory Bank MST3K edition (funny riffage and not a terrible movie on its own)
How about some John Hurt guys?
Besides A L I E N he was in 1984, Hellboy, V For Vendetta, Outlander and Snowpiercer.
"Let The Cosmic Incubation Begin" ~ H.R. Giger
Lone- 1984 (slaps forehead)!
I trust you guys have all seen BladeRunner??? o.O
"Let The Cosmic Incubation Begin" ~ H.R. Giger
Ay Lone, the end of Spaceballs - the chestburster parody lol!
He played Dr Oxley in Indiana Jones And the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls.
played John Merrick the Elephant Man.
Was in a Paul McCartney music vid back in the 80's, for the song - Take it Away, man! the list of acting roles this bloke done is huge, he was a legend in my eyes.
Absolutely JH was one of the greats, he elevated any film!

To anyone who hasn't seen BladeRunner yet.......
*sends out the dildomorphs*

"Let The Cosmic Incubation Begin" ~ H.R. Giger
I got a couple more that shouldn't have to be said but I'm going to say them any way.The Fly(1986) and Serenity/FireFly.I also think Oblivion is a bit underrated
Nothing the God of biomechanics wouldn't let you in heaven for

Nothing the God of biomechanics wouldn't let you in heaven for
Some that haven't been mentioned yet:
Tron: Legacy, Edge of Tommorow, Sourcecode, Children of Men, Starship Troopers, The Running Man.
I thought Edge of Tomorrow was mentioned somewhere.I totally forgot to do Children of Men,that's one of my all time favorites and still better than Gravity which I like.Tron Legacy is another good choice better than the original Tron in my opinion, and of course can't go wrong with Starship Troopers
Nothing the God of biomechanics wouldn't let you in heaven for
Stan Winston (deceased) Solid entries especially Running Man imo.
I did not see that movie but played the Atari 2600 game of the same title. Took a picture of the screen when I reached 1 million points back in the day.
Lone-
Saw the John Hurt version of 1984 again last night. I forgot how utterly dismal it is. Good to know that could never happen...
A duo of underrated Stephen King sci fi adaptations:The Mist and Dreamcatcher
Nothing the God of biomechanics wouldn't let you in heaven for
Children of Men is brilliant (even though it has Julianne Moore in it). Edge of Tomorrow was good but Hollywood marred it by not sticking with the original Japanese Novella "All you need is Kill" storyline. Emily Blunt is very good in the film as is Tom Cruise.
What about Minority Report?
One of my favorite's is AI: Artificial Intelligence. I thought it was excellent.
Today I have been dedicated to post on as many topics as possible until I pass out from drinking too many beers.
