A good well known song that emotes to the film can make such a difference to how the viewer perceives and remembers the film. It adds another dimension and layer to the experience.
Think of Guns n' Roses "you could be mine" in T2, or Little Richards "Long tall sally" in Predator as excellent Sci-fi examples. Classic memorable films that portrayed the era of those films.
The perspective "Take me home" gives to the film is a feeling of melancholy, nostalgia (wheat fields) and homesickness. It is also builds on Ridley Scotts Truckers-in-space feel he was trying to portray in the original Alien, with the country vibe of the song.
What other songs do you all think would suit this film, and would like see featured in the movie???
Here are my top 4. I've tried to stick with classic bluesy/country/rock song.
1. If I ever leave this world alive - Flogging Molly (how fitting)
