Is it possible in the Prometheus / Alien Covenant Universe that humans were merely created to be hosts to the Xenomorphs by the Engineers? Was David's line from Prometheus “sometimes to create, one must first destroy” foreshadowing mankind's ultimate purpose? And what of David's remark "they are waiting for mother" to Oram in the Alien Covenant egg chamber? While he studied the Engineers on the Juggernaut's voyage, did David discover mankind's destiny is simply to become vessels for the ultimate life form? Is Earth one big Xenomorph Farm waiting to happen? This could in part explain why the Engineers would have no compassion for humans if they view us as nothing but walking incubators.
