Flare above wreckage

This timing of this event is very confusing if this is the Covenant crew in the below image with the flare.

David 8 is shown with long blond hair when walking in the cloak above (different shot entirely?) and in another shot with short dark hair with Captain Oram.

This is hard to reconcile.
