Why was the thread asking for spoilers closed?

It was AaronStar? he was very helpful, they censored him now.

Last I looked that thread wasn't closed. No one is trying to censor anyone, i'm not sure how asking to respect the site rules is censorship. 

@A L I E N 4 2 6 what's the issue? His thread was clearly titled. It wasn't like he was being misleading and then threw in a spoiler without warning.

For the record I completely agree with providing an obvious warning before posting anything bordering on spoiler territory.

@Lilly I just checked, you're right. Must've been a glitch I was unable to insert a reply so it looked like the thread was closed. I'm not sure anyone was censored but I am unsure which part of the rules were broken.

Probably because he has been flooding the board today with posts containing spoilerific titles!

Even though senior members said Prometheus was bad for spoilers- I don't remember it being quite like this so early.

If idiots would just not have the spoiler in the title it would be fine!

Anyway, there will be some who will join just to try and ruin things for others.

Hmmm....I cannot find one single mention in the Forum Rules that states that Staff or Admin are required to post spoilers- or even reviews/opinions on anything at all.

If you want spoilers from random non-fans, have at it. There is nothing that says Chris or anyone else is here specifically to cater to anyone's wishes. 

I think the main Problem comes down to people starting multiple spoiler Topics...

Instead of one Topic....

so we get say 5-6 Topics on certain things in the movie like say. These are made up by the way.. so no spoilers just a example if these where Spoilers.

*Why did David pretend to be Shaw and Cross Dress....

*How did the Covenant Ship not get destroyed by the leaving Scorpionship?

*Xenomorph flying another Juggernaught WTF!

*I cant believe that XXXXX Dies too i thought they survived.

Etc....

Even if listed as Spoilers, mentioning the Spoiler points in a Topic is a big give away....  Regardless if we have no spoilers in the Topic Title and they are listed as SPOILERS.

Example.... SPOILER... That David and Walter Scene.

When we end up with to many Topics on Spoilers it takes up space on the recent Topics Side of the website which could cause more to click on them or see spoilers in Titles when they want to look at what other Topics are posted.

And the biggest Problem is the Staff who then have to check each Topic, and having all Spoilers limited until ONE Topic is easier to maintain and also people cant complain if they go into that Topic.

Another thing is consideration that not every member of the Staff knows what happens, or wants to know before they get the chance to see the Movie... Chris was lucky and well deserved to get to see the Movie.. on the 4th

Imagine if he and other members of Staff cant see the movie until the 18th/19th and dont want to have the Movie Spoiled (talking things not shown in Trailers etc)... Well having to look at and Moderate many many Spoiler posts...

Does mean these guess Sacrifice a Lot of the Surprises in return to trying to protect the users who dont want spoilers.

So a Big Shout out has to go to the Staff

I think Bottom line there are TWO respectful ways to get Spoilers.

1) PM someone who has this information but be respectful to keep it to themselves.

2) Google Alien Covenant Reviews as a lot are out and will Spoil the movie for those who want the details.

I haven't been on for a few days so I just found the threads Aaronstar started and only later added spoiler warning to titles once people read them. What a dick move, makes sense now.
