After watching the Phobos clip I am suddenly very interested in reading ADF's Alien: Covenant - Origins (Prequel) novel, a book which up until this point seemed to have a rather dull and flat premise. Not anymore it would seem!!
For those of you have watched the Phobos clip you will understand why! Without giving away spoilers, the clip contains some important footage that occurred prior to the Covenant mission launch, raising some very interesting questions about how much was known about the Xenomorph species before the mission and what the actual goal of the Covenant mission was. Were they ever meant to go Origae-6??
EDIT:
Computer screen grabs show the candidates are being tested for fear responses and phobia's. If you look at the above banner you can see "Parasitophobia" had been identified for Tennessee. As VivisectedEngineer points out, it appears the candidates were selected with the greatest fear.
Interestingly the other phobia's being assessed for included:
Pyrophobia - fear of fire
Musophobia- fear of mice/rats
Phallophobia - fear of the penis (not kidding, real thing)
belonephobia - fear of needles / penetration
ADF's novel summary:
The Covenant mission is the most ambitious endeavour in the history of Weyland-Yutani. A ship bound for Origae-6, carrying two thousand colonists beyond the limits of known space, this is make-or-break investment for the corporation — and for the future of all mankind.
Yet there are those who would die to stop the mission. As the colony ship hovers in Earth orbit, several violent events reveal a deadly conspiracy to sabotage the launch. While Captain Jacob Branson and his wife Daniels complete their preparations, security chief Daniel Lope recruits the final key member of his team. Together they seek to stop the perpetrators before the ship and its passengers can be destroyed.
What do you guys think, does the new information from Phobos make you more interested in the Origin's novel??
