MemberOvomorphMarch 10, 2018...first time poster. Have followed this site since the pre-Prometheus days. I may have said a word or two on a topic but that's about it. I rarely post on any forums, even though I read them regularly. Recently rewatched Aliens then went to the Scott prequels. First time I saw Alien was in the early 80s, was a fan since. I'm not sure why I'm posting now. I guess, having rewatched the prequels, I just don't feel let down like it seems most fans have. I don't think they're perfect but I like the tone and the depression of Prometheus and Covenant. I've also come to like Aliens less and less, which I know has been mentioned by others before. I still like it...but the hive, insect thing irks me in the way the prequels irk most of the fans. Maybe I like that David looks just like David Bowie on the cover of Station to Station...or just the overall ferocity of the "primal" neo-proto-what haves yous. Are some parts silly? Sure, but I like the grand scheme of the whole story. The only thing that I can conclude is that I must be some kind of moron, since I like these prequels, even though the consensus is they suck or that Scott is no good. I must be missing something. ///
