Interview: Author Alex White on ALIEN: THE COLD FORGE

"DC: The Cold Forge reveals Facehuggers don’t actually implant an embryo but inject a black goo-like substance instead that rewrites DNA. Did you receive any pushback about making this change to their life cycle?

AW: Nope! It’s 100% in keeping with Alien: Covenant and you never actually see a larval injection onscreen. In fact, 20th Century Fox requested ZERO changes to the manuscript and sent a page full of compliments, which is probably a first!"

I wonder if this is a continuing trend to Re-Write Alien Lore after the aftermath of Alien Covenant?  I just hope they dont meddle too much with it.  But i guess Alien Covenant opens it up to Open Season!

Hopefully they will take Alien Covenant out of canon and have it as a What if movie like AVP is a kind of made up scenario but that is not in the official timeline. I do not think that they will do this but I can hope so. One thing that might work is that they make a comic book that is really good and replace Alien Covenant with that, something that I would not mind. Actually it would be nice if they would be like "well really AC sucked so we will erase that and try to make another movie that replaces it in canon" but I do not think that will happen unfortunately. By doing this they could repair what went wrong with that movie namely bad characters, the focus on the androids, and that David is responsible for the Xeno monster.

I think the Replace  is just a Lazy Cop Out.... its why i was never a fan of Blomkamps lets replace Alien 3 Cop Out...

I think movies should be Canon, and its a case of continuation and improve on what went wrong... but indeed Alien Covenant has left them in a Pickle....

Where i think the only FIX really is to have the Engineers (or another Race) come in and take a GREAT interest in Davids Xenomorph and then play the Final Role in EVOLVING Davids Xenomorph to get to the Original in Alien.

Prometheus showed some Engineers took a GREAT interest and regard for the Mural Organism... if this represented the Deacon, it was not QUITE as Epic as the Xenomorph but we could see it was GETTING there..

Davids Xenomorphs take us CLOSE but not quite there again.. so maybe having the Engineers/Another Race come in and EVOLVE Davids work is the Logical Route to take now.
