This causes a Dilemma.... because some Fans would still expect more Clues to the Xenomorph, and Clues to show that David.... DID-NOT create them!

In Hindsight yes it should have been left a Mystery and Alien Covenant should NOT have happened.

If we had a Return to LV-223 that would indicate the Xenomorph was Ancient and on LV-426 for Thousands of Years, then this would appease some Fans... and then get them to Question so WHAT is exactly David's Creation.

Which we could then leave a Mystery... or it would leave a Alien Covenant Sequel open to then NOT explore the Xenomorph but something different... there would have to maybe be some Dialog about the Xenomorph however..

This could be covered as Follows... in a Conversation between David and another Human...

I think we have to consider other ways of HOW do we introduce the Engineers if we are to ignore what David does next!

A few Foods for Thought...

Considering the Advent Video, its likely you would assume the Company would go to LV-223 and Planet 4 at some point, never mind Origae-6 (where David is likely going).

Also IF the Engineers discover what happened, they would see maybe the Bodies of Humans, they would maybe Find Walter and see his Likeness to Humans... IF such Humans only exist on Earth, you can bet thats a Place on the Engineers to Visit List!

IF the Engineers arrive at Origae-6 and deal with David, then unless they are Destroyed you would assume the Engineers may want to pay Mankind a Visit which could CONFLICT with the Alien Franchise.

So it would be interesting so see how else the Engineers could be introduced, if not for the Pursuit of David.

It doesn't matter as long as it doesn't mess with A3 and Resurrection.

Let David remain a mystery like the SJ and Deacon. Best to go out on top than overstay your welcome. 

Or let the prequels be a dream and continue with the Quadrilogy :D

It could be that the Aliens Prequel, is a misinterpretation and its a Aliens Sequel?   Who knows... just rumor at the moment, lets hope it stays that way (regarding Prequel).

I do think that Blomkamps Alien 5 statement/release of Concept, could certainly contributed to FOX deciding to go for more of a Alien Covenant, than what a Prometheus sequel would have been prior (Steer Away from ALIEN and Xenomorphs).

As Blomkamps ideas as NOT any Official Project he was maybe not Restricted to what he had put out there..

By that Ridley Scott maybe could not put some Concept of his Alien Covenant Sequel and Information out there because it was Part of a Official Project that was under some way, that was then Put on Hold!

I wonder how many of his Ideas have been used for his Raised by Wolves TV Series?  OR indeed the Hennessy XO Commercial he made ;)

As i mentioned before this makes NO sense... as i am sure the Rumor was a ALIENS Prequel and not a ALIEN one... this would be SILLY if it is about Ripley... as how is Miss Weaver gonna pass as a 33 Year Old Ripley?

The only way would be if its about Amanda Ripley and they use Miss Weaver to play her, with some changes to make her look a little different...

Of course such a Plot would have to take place 5-10 years prior to ALIENS... but then HOW do you have Xenomorphs?  But there could be a way to do this, as we had seen in Alien Isolation.

GOD Help-Us if James Cameron was making a ALIEN Prequel as i am not sure he would respect what Ridley Scott had been doing, regarding Prometheus, but who knows...  surely it could be WORSE... like a ALIEN Prequel that has Ellen Ripley.  I would only want to see Ellen Ripley again if we are doing a Continuation to Alien Resurrection.

I do think its Unlikely we will see Ridley Scotts Prequel Conclusion, and i suspect some of the ideas he was to explore with the Covenant Colonist and "What Kind of a World" that David could Create/Build have been Carried over as part of the Ideas for his Raised by Wolves TV Series.

Indeed RS had pretty much Spoon Fed what happened to the Derelict in comments after Prometheus.... i can find the exact quote... but here are the points he made.

*The Event is related to LV-223 Experiments.

*The Happened within a Few Hundred Years of the Outbreak we saw in Prometheus (Hologram Scene) so either about 1800 years or 2200 years prior to Prometheus.. give or take.

*The Derelict did-not Crash, its intention was to Land on LV-426

*The Pilot had got infected with his Cargo (something had Evolved in the Cargo Hold and got to the Pilot) the Pilot did-not get FAR before knowing he was infected, and so he set course to Baron LV-426 to Quarantine the Cargo.

*During the Final Moments of the Landing he set off the SOS and then he began to enter the Chest Buster Phase and thus Crash Landing on LV-426

I found this information interesting and had me considering that the HAMMERPEDES had lead to the Eggs, and also infected the Space Jockey.  But looking at the Neomorph then some Engineers could have Unknowingly had became Infected with some kind of MORPH. (as in it was a Microbiological Infection)

But then we have ALIEN COVENANT... which seems to be changing the PLOT... 

Well, we can probably forget about another sequel from Ridley, if Jim Cameron is flaunting his prequel idea in front of Disney, plus the way things are, the interwebz haters will be loudly on board with his idea!

Regarding Fassbender... i think it really is logical he wants to reprise his Role as David, he understands it was a BIG Role, and that Davids Role has YET to have a Conclusion.

The Problem with the Prequels being in LIMBO is the Longer it takes, the Older Fassbender gets, and David is supposed to appear as a Male in his Mid-Late 30's

So the longer it takes, we could end up with...

After Prometheus and before Alien: Covenant, I think RS did say that the derelict was taking off from LV-223 and was going somewhere else, but the pilot got infected with the pathogen and it crashlanded on LV-426. Ever since AC came out looks like things got changed (like fuck, a lot of things can change in 30 years).

I was writing my own script (which is like 5 to 10% complete) where I tried to explain the origin of the derelict and the ovomorphs, but I gave up on it because I was busy with other things. 

In it, in the prologue which takes approx. 2000 years ago on LV-223, the engineers were leaving but they lost control of the pathogen. While the whole pyramid was on lockdown, the pilot Space jockey along with a couple of other engineers managed to escape from LV-223 but he got infected with the pathogen and the ship crashlanded on LV-426. That was the prologue, for the rest I planned David to arrive on LV-426, and finish with his creations inside of the derelict, then the engineers would come and battle the xenomorphs. With this, I wanted to tie in with Alien: River of pain where Newt's parents found inside of the derelict bunch of xenomorph and engineer bodies, along with the bodies of the xenomorph queen and the engineer who fought each other to death.

This was discussed before, its open to debate as its ambiguous, i think eventually YES we are going to LV-426.  But i think at the Present (year 2105) LV-426 has NO Derelict in context to the Plot Change for Alien Covenant but this could change.

It really depends on WHAT is on LV-426 if we go there NEXT?

so we would ask WHY would David go there, for the Eggs on LV-426?  The ONLY way this makes sense would be a Revelation that after putting Dr Shaw into Cryo-Sleep David had gone to the Derelict and taken ONE of the Eggs on the Juggernaught with him and began to Create a Hybrid.  so he could return to the Derelict to Obtain some more, and likely his best bet then would be LV-223 to Experiment/Evolve.

But there cant be nothing more than the Derelict on LV-426 if we went such a PLOT...  as this would conflict with the Franchise for example if LV-426 had many Outposts or Egg Silos etc.

However.... all indications to me seem to suggest that RS had planed at least TWO movies, maybe a Third before we get to ALIEN and the NEXT one would be more about "What Kind of a World" that David would create that would be about AI (Artificial Creation that is Intelligent) and NOT about Xenomorphs.

The Engineers are interesting, because RS had suggested the Prometheus Engineers are-not the Originals...  when looking at  the Themes of Prometheus, and his comment about AI as in Replicants are AI... then YES i think he wishes to show the LV-223 Engineers as Enhanced/Created versions of the Engineers, so are they like David/Replicants or a Group who had played God to Engineer themselves to this way?

The Size Difference could be a Oversight!

The Space Jockey was intended to be 26-27ft but the Illusion was only 21-22ft as soon as Kane, Dallas and Lambert entered the Chamber.... but this Illusion was Broken when using the Real Actors (not Children) Up close and so our Space Jockey was 15ft Tops!

But indeed the Space Jockey is Larger and different Proportions than our Engineers, so maybe this could be explored?

Who knows if they can throw another Curve-ball by the Space Jockey is what David Creates?  But this would upset Fans as much as him Creating the Xenomorph.

Anyway, with is it 5 AVATAR sequels, or however many, in the works, plus a new Terminator, how in the hell would Jim Cameron have the time to work on an ALIENS prequel!?

Is it purely coincidental that JC is supposedly working on a new ALIEN movie, right at the time when reports of another prequel from Ridley, are being reported?

I had the exact same feeling when Covenant was in the works & Blomkamp started posting his ALIEN 5 concepts. Then Sigourney, JC- (it's gangbusters!) Michael Biehn etc came out of the woodwork to promote the idea.

I guess I'm just a conspiracy nut!

I think every movie in the Franchise does take some inspiration from HR Gigers works, some may go around with doing it in a way so as to look like they are NOT directly using his Material... but we can see the Influences.

Newborn Skull and that Image do look similar.

I think the Franchise is much bigger than just Xenomorphs, which Prometheus attempted to show us, and there is a wealth of Strange Creatures and Art from HR Giger that could be used in numerous ways if we expand beyond Xenomorphs.

This ONE has the same Skull at the Top..

It would have been interesting to see David or Engineers use a Female Attached Similar to Harvest Egg Cells for the Creation of Horrific Things!

I am not so sure we could get to see this.... but certainly i think its Certain we would have seen what LEADS to Special Order 937 and the Nostromo then being Rerouted to LV-426.

Not sure about TV Series... but i think certainly a NOVEL would be the best way to cover what kind of Plans that Ridley Scott had, and as far as a Movie we get the After-Math, such as with what happened between Prometheus and Alien Covenant, those 10 Years is something best suited to a NOVEL... then we can go into detail with the Story, where Fans can Read the Book at their own Pace.... 

And not be restrained to a 2 Hour Movie..

The sequels to Alien Covenant are likely going to have some things Fans would expect/want... which by the looks of the Majority would be...

*Expected to show how we get from the Covenant Ship, the Colonist and just TWO Face Hugers, to the Thousands of Eggs on the Derelict.

*While Fans would be Hopeful that those Eggs are NOTHING to do with David.

*Return of the Engineers more akin to Prometheus Style arriving on Ships, Angry and out to Destroy whoever was responsible for Destroying Planet 4.

*A Movie that will NOT be about David and his Agenda and what kind of a World he would create...  they would expect the Covenant Colonist to be subject to some Horrors, and then Set-Up incoming Human Ship and Engineers for some Engineers vs Davids Creations, vs Marine like Action 3rd Act. as the ICING to a more Horror 2nd Act.

I think yes you have to make sure you have a Good Writer, but then there is a lot of work to make something thats going to pull off/work.

Alien Covenant had taken us to Direct Prequel Territory, it appeared and Ridley Scott confirming that the plan is for the Prequels to take us to the Back Door to ALIEN, were it seems the END GAME would be show HOW/WHEN/WHY those Eggs get onto the Derelict.

If you look at Alien Covenant it could appear that its SET-UP for such a Conclusion, by what it had shown regarding David and his Creations, and then the Coincidence that the Covenant had Thousands of Good Souls and so some Fans could be drawn to a conclusion that these Colonist could end up playing a ROLE in how David manages to Create those Thousands of Eggs.

The Problem is most Fans are NOT at all Pleased that David could be the Creator of the Xenomorph, but its a case of HOW do you proceed with another Movie, and show that David did-not create those Eggs on the Derelict?  Because should we try and to this, then its going to still be expected that we would have the Explanation for the Xenomorphs Origins and HOW/WHEN/WHY those Eggs get on the Derelict and so IF we show that its NOT by David then maybe they have to still show WHO instead Created them and HOW they get on the Derelict.

some Fans were Disappointed we never got to carry on with Dr Shaw, and what she could have Discovered about the Engineers, and with the Engineers also DEAD then its HOW do we find out more about them, not only their History etc but also their Agenda?  I think its tricky to bring Dr Shaw back, some may like this idea, some may not... maybe some Flash Backs?  Who knows.

The Engineers could return and its likely and likely the Plot Device to obtain a Engineer Ship (Derelict) but its a case of in which Context and how Deep do we delve into the Engineers? Prometheus and especially by Virtue of the Deleted Scenes, had made them a bit of a Mystery, all we know really is they created us (so it seems) they got angry with us, created some Horrid Bio-Weapon to use on us and lost control of it and it killed them nearly all off.

some Fans are Interested in the Creators, Chariots of the Gods Plot, and would like to see more of this route and some Fans are NOT interested in this Philosophical/Creation concept and want to just see the Engineers Return tooled up and ready to TEAR the Head Off David.

some Fans may want more Philosophical Scenes like some of the Scenes between David and Weyland, David and Oram and David and Walter... while some Fans would not want to see this sort of stuff.

Some fans would not want to see David's role in Creating something else and Building a certain World especially if this is NOT going to be about Creating a World of Horrific Beasts and so any Plot where David say Creates/Evolves his own Humanoids would not appeal to some Fans...  and there are some Fans who are plain and simple not interested in a Movie that revolves around DAVID.

You have to have more Human Characters and they have to be Well Written, but its a case of what becomes of Daniels and Tennessee and IF we dont see these Characters, or much then any they Introduce us to surely also CANT be used for just ONE Movie... unless we are ONLY getting the ONE to Connect to ALIEN.

I think as we are on a Direct Prequel route then Most Fans are going to be Expecting to see Xenomorphs, or very similar, they are going to expect a SET-UP where the Movie After will be covering WHEN/HOW the Eggs get on the Derelict. 

so a Movie that does-not have Xenomorphs or Similar, that does-not clearly Set-Up that the NEXT one will take us to the Derelict and Eggs would be something that SOME Fans would NOT be interested in, and if the Alien Covenant Sequel covers a lot about David what other Life/World he Creates that is NOT related to Beasts/Horrors and is Philosophical Heavy then this would be seen as a Distraction for most Fans.

Like it or NOT... its expected we are heading to the Derelict and those Eggs and so the Xenomorph would be expected to play a ROLE.

Like it or NOT... Ridley Scott seems to think the Emphasis on David and him creating the Xenomorph and maybe other things is what maybe we are in store for.

Like it or NOT... its likely the Engineers Return but maybe in context to our LV-223 Aggressive Angry SOB's who will be on a Warpath/Revenge.  So we may not explore any History or Philosophical route to them.

You cant really cover all this and please everyone with just ONE Movie, and so if we have 2-3 more Movies then Each Movie has to Engage and Please the Mass Fanbase, else they would not be so many who would go and see any Continuations and leave the Prequels Dead in the Water!

So its really HARD to come up with a Solid Plan thats Guaranteed to Work.  Your NOT going to please/cater for everyone and while its expected to connect to ALIEN, i think they have to make it more about the Xenomorph and HOW the Derelict and Pilot come into play..

And so "what kind of world" David would create, could be a Distraction, and maybe we NEED a After-Math Movie to THIS instead.

Like how Alien Covenant was a After-Math of what happened between David and Dr Shaw from Prometheus to after the Bombardment, includes Dr Shaws FATE and Davids Experimentation.... Alien Covenant had BY-PASSED this.

such a CROSSING Movie may-not have appealed to the Masses, and so a Davids World may also not appeal too.

I highly doubt that David is the Space Jockey, plus I don't see how would that happen. We know from RS's comments that the Engineers from Planet 4 were the civilians and the ones from LV-223 were militant types. The physical differences might suggest that those Engineers were genetically enhanced for space exploration and combat.

The Space Jockey might just be an enhanced and enlarged version, similar to some Tyrant models from the Resident Evil series, and the Assassin predator from The Predator (2018).

Considering the square-cube law, I imagine the 15ft SJ to look something like the giants from Game of Thrones (thicker legs, wider appearance, etc. which might also explain the differences).

So in the end for the climax the SJ gets facehugged and it dies in its seat giving birth to Ultramorph. And our heroes have to kill it.

I just hope we get to see a xenomorph born from an Engineer on a big screen. They used Beluga-xenomorph from Jon Spaiht's Prometheus script for Alien: Covenant, so I hope they use Ultramorph for Alien: Awakening!

Interesting. Fans seem divided on David in future films. I thought he was fantastic but also think the focus should be elsewhere. Engineers or WY. David and the Xeno could be there but maybe take a few steps back to let other subjects shine.

I had the reference that the image was from necronomicon's H. R. GIGER. But now, after seeing all the Pages of the book, i AM sure that it isn't.

If you want my precise accuracy, everything related to the space creature, every Monster sculpture, every picture is based on H.R.Giger's artwork. 

Jim Cameron didn't honored the artist H. R.Giger. He didn't include H. R. GIGER in the making of the movie 'Aliens', the artist that designed the xenomorph and had a big part in the success of Alien 1979 film. How derranged is Jim Cameron? Treating  H.R. Giger like a disposable asset, but taking advantage  of its art.

I still think that he copied the alien Queen, because the Queen is a xenomorph, it's a La Palice truth, but it's still a truth.

Ps: This picture is really from the book 'Necronomicon' and, at the top of it, That skull looks very similar to the head of the New born, the Monster from the 'Alien resurrection' film.

With a little bit of imagination, i almost can see, underneath the newborn head, the heads of Two neomorphs, facing each other.

I agree with BigDave that the Queen painting does not seem too be a Giger piece, as it is not even seem to be airbrushed as the artist used to work. Maybe we can receive a page number and/or more details about the book?

@dk the painting is from 1976 and is called Meister und Margeritha (The Master and Margarita) named after the famous Bulgakov novel. It was not done as a commission work for the Morrison wannabe. Giger made album cover omissions for : Walpurgis;  Emerson Lake and Palmer; Debbie Harry; and Steve Stevens & the Atomic Playboys.

It really is HARD to think of 2 Movies to connect to ALIEN that will please even 50% of Fans... a very hard task!

I think we are in a MESS at the Moment....

We have gone this Direct Prequel route to introduce Xenomorphs and the Origins and it will be expected at the CLIMAX of the Prequels to show us the Following.

*WHEN/HOW/WHY those Eggs get on the Derelict.

*WHY/WHEN/HOW is the Space Jockey  connected.

*WHO/HOW/WHEN Does the Xenomorph from Alien/Aliens come into existence.

Most Fans are not going to want David to be responsible for these, or have a Movie thats about HIM, that is less about Engineers and Xenomorphs.

You also do need Human Characters and introduce them into the FRAY... but how do you cover all of this into TWO movies?

Xenomorphs, Humans, Engineers, David and what ever he Creates... if you look at the Order Most Fans would think the Movie needs to be about more, i am sure the Xenomorph would always come in at 2nd/3rd and David Last! as far as most Fans.

The Climax being expected to show HOW/WHEN/WHY those Eggs get onto a Engineer/Space Jockey Ship that ENDS up on LV-425

I think you raise a Good Concern that many do...

When you look at ALIEN (apart from Human Characters) it was about the ALIEN Monster those Eggs, and then to Ponder what the HELL that Pilot was doing with those Eggs, who was HE? where did he come FROM? Why did he have those EGGS? where did the Xenomorph come FROM?

To have all those things pushed aside to be about David is a Distraction that Displeases most Fans, i think you can try and FIX it but now we are in DIRECT PREQUEL Territory Fans are going to want to know HOW/WHEN/WHY those Eggs get on the Derelict, and HOW the Eggs came to be and WHY the Space Jockey would have them.

And Most Fans would HOPE its nothing to do with David.

I think they could take on board some problems with David and attempt to improve things, but indeed the ALIEN Franchise is Considered to be about Xenomorphs, Prometheus tried to expand up this to cover the Space Jockey and Engineers.   And so too much Emphasis on David is a Distraction to both.

We are NOW on Direct Prequel Route where any movie is going to have the Fans wanting to know WHEN we discover the Xenomorph Origins and HOW/WHEN/WHY they end up on the Derelict and then HOPE that its not via David.

It really is a Pickle....

Because the NEXT prequel has to be more about the Xenomorph Origins and Engineers than David or what else he would Create, otherwise Fans will think this is getting LESS connected to what ALIEN was about, and would NOT want to then see another Sequel (AC3) if the Next Movie steers too much away from the Xenomorph and Space Jockey.
