"That golden goo looks like honey to me and all the seven worlds are creative interpretations of the seven tasting notes Hennessy XO is so proud of. I read the description below on their site:"
That certainly is the point, but i feel RS has felt he can add a story to those Flavors... by incorporating some MOEBIUS Elements...
I could connect/interpret some things that relate to a number of things he has said about Prometheus/Creation and Engineers in the Video too... but thats not to say it was intended by him... its maybe just me trying to connect it, like my Analysis of the MURAL which may be nothing more than a Tribute to HR Giger.
It just looks like it could connect a little...
Regarding the Giant Humanoids i think its not a case of this being Engineers, the whole Movie seems to indicate to me Creation of Life by using that Primordial Golden Ooze.. so those Humans could be the Engineers in this context, and Giant Beings there Creation. Its ambiguous but i see those Giant Beings connected to the Honey Substance, for all we know they could have lived on that World and allowed those Humans the use of that Substance.
Or indeed implies they are created from it....
RS had teased the Engineers are not Gods, his comment about them being our Forerunners, then asking WHO made it Possible for Worlds to be able to Habit Life on.. where is the BIG GUY is a interesting comment RS made in 2016. He then also pondered is the Big Bang a Accident? Or some Intelligent Aspect behind it. This ADVERT does seem to touch upon something like this.
What i find Interesting, is the Source claimed some stuff from 2014 that could connect to this Advert too... seemed to indicate the Engineers are more like David, and that Mankind plays the Bigger Role and we are 5th Generation of our Kind.
In this Advert we see Humanoids that are very like Humans...
One very interesting set of Concepts from Alien Covenant is also these.. by TWO different Artist, depicts a similar thing. We have to ask... WHY these beings in this DONT look like Engineers! Was RS going to show us that a Previous Version of Humanity Created the Engineers? Did the Engineers Destroy their Creators and then Tried to Re-Create them? As in Humans?

Interesting is it NOT?
Are we seeing it repeated...
David wants to Destroy/Rebel against his Creators... but then Re-Create his own version of Humans (using Embryos) and so could this be a repeat of Engineers, Destroy/Rebel against their more Human Creators, and then after attempt to Re-Create a Version of them to Rule over as opposed to Serve like they did to their Creators?
PARTING GIFT....
As in by Ridley Scott, not saying he is going to be Meeting his Maker any time soon... I felt that with his AGE and his Plans for the Franchise he had hoped with Prometheus and then after the 5 year wait for a Sequel that he could take part and complete a set of PREQUELS within the next 5-10 years (From work on Alien Covenant in 2016).
With the Franchise in LIMBO and Buzz around a Cameron/Blomkamp lets Ret-con Aliens Sequels, i feel for Ridley Scott because it seems unlikely he may get to continue with his Sequels... certainly doubtful over the next few years...
And so i cant help but think some the Ideas in Raised by Wolves and this Hennessy XO advert may touch on some of the Vision he had intended for his Prequels, that looks unlikely to be made. Certainly NO Guarantees that Ridley Scott is still able to give Directing/Producing 100% by the time any Prequel Continuation gets the Go Ahead.
So maybe this is his Passing Gift, a way of him being able to show what a Prometheus 2 could have been like and a Alien Covenant 2 just in case he may NEVER be able to go back and complete them or introduce some of the ideas he had hinted at before.
Visually can you imagine a Prometheus 2, or now a continuation of Prequels with a Good Budget? But it would come down to a Good Story and Execution as seen in Prometheus and Alien Covenant these were a bit Flawed in terms of that... But the Visually Pleasing and Thought Provoking Elements remain... Where as a Cameron Budget would go on Xenomorphs and Queens and Running and Shooting.
I've always said that Prometheus would have been better received had it not been advertised as an Alien prequel, but a stand alone Sci-fi movie.
From the beginning Ridley stated that it was an original story which branched off from ALIEN & took its own path. Fox seriously screwed up its marketing.
The irony is, that the more time passes & because its themes are now being largely ignored, it will be left on its own. The scope of the story was just too expansive for some.
Well, I'll always regard it as the movie which sewed the seeds for what could have been. I think it's brilliant, because Ridley dared to do something completely different, yet connected recognisable elements from a host of Sci-fi, not only ALIEN. Something pretty bloody incredible actually!
Yes nin, I think more & more people are beginning to catch onto what Prometheus started & the golden nuggets it contains.
Great perception Dave, I believe you are onto something!
Ridley realises that he will never be able to make the ALIEN movie he really desires. He even provides us with some clues. Did you catch what he said on the making of video?
It’s more than advertising, it’s a form of entertainment, my creative process has gotten me into more trouble than anything in my 40 years of advertising, but I’m still here so I must be doing something right….if I get an idea and I think it sounds good, I’ll just go for it and I’m unrelenting….if you get the art right you are going to communicate….am I getting your attention? If I’m getting your attention at the end of it you’re going to stay with it, then they are going to get your message.
Yeah, I know the message is all about getting you to buy Hennessy, or is it? I believe Ridley is actually telling us quite a lot here.
On Ingeniero’s thread I go on about how Ridley appears to be channeling MOEBIUS with this advert. I won’t repeat what I said there. I’ll just quote what our member Major Noob/Aorta said about Ridley- he is Moebius’s brother from another Mother. So true!
Both share a gift for visual storytelling. Moebius put pen to paper & took us on the most incredible transcendental trips. Ridley does exactly the same, only his canvas is the screen. Both tell wondrous stories through the visual medium, but these are not just fantastic voyages with beautiful, empty images, there’s a depth & perception that warrants much of our time. We look into & beyond them. We strive to understand their message. Many people have never gotten that & they underestimate him.
I’d like to thank him too. Much of the imagery in Prometheus alone has provided years of writing about how it connects to just about everything, it's all about everything to quote Ridley, religion, mythology, symbolism, making us question our own origin, as well as riffing classic Sci-fi. It can be looked upon from so many angles.
A picture definitely paints a thousand words. Isn’t that what we admire about Ridley the most?
Prometheus good because placed in Alien Universe.
The Face of Alien Universe is Xenomorph with a unique shape.
The Alien shape created by H.R. Giger.
Giger is an artist for Jodorovsly's Dune.
Jodorovsly's Dune is the greatest trip movie which was not filmed.
Prometheus is a great trip movie.
So... it's perfect in Alien Universe.
"Was this showing he is Embracing his Sacrifice has lead to the Creation of this World?"
"Then the Birds Swarm/Embrace him and he becomes a Tree, does this mean i am wrong, and was many Spirits what formed the other Trees?"
Or it's an act of union with Nature. It means that this Spirit (human soul) is part of Nature. The part of the World.
Nice observation!
Don't worry. I get you a New Hope... Based on my observations. FOX be silence about The Predator for a few months (~6) before AC, and start talking a few months (again ~6) after AC release. Same with The Predator. Silence about Alien before The Predator release and now they speak again about Alien. They really can work on a new Alien project.
And I agree something like AC Origins will be good. It's a really beautiful book.
When I read the title of this post I thought BigDave is going to leave us and it was his parting gift :)
I'm glad I was misguided.
I hope it's not Sir Ridley Scott's parting gift too.
That golden goo looks like honey to me and all the seven worlds are creative interpretations of the seven tasting notes Hennessy XO is so proud of. I read the description below on their site:
"SEVEN WORLDS FOR SEVEN NOTES The Seven Worlds are creative interpretations of each tasting note, described by Hennessy’s Comité de Dégustation as illustrations of Hennessy X.O’s taste and feel: Sweet Notes, Rising Heat, Spicy Edge, Flowing Flame, Chocolate Lull, Wood Crunches. Culminating in Infinite Echo. These seven notes are envisioned by Ridley Scott as individual worlds each brought to life through wondrous and extreme physiography. The movie director leaves it to the viewer’s imagination if the film occurs in the future or the past, in reality or in a dreamscape as he takes us through vivid scenes offering snapshots of each world."
The beautiful shots of the people walking in the shadows of the giants reminded me of a passage from the Bible:
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me." (Psalm 23:4).
Must be that this XO can help you get past the hardships of the day with some serenity. I'd probably never find out myself, being so pricey.
It did say Scott was only producing one- but I agree to test the waters with just one first.
Looks really interesting- it was not on my radar. The giants recall the Titans from God of War based off Greek mythology.

Great insights as usual BigDave . I wasn't sure how to take the short though. Many might think of the giants as Engineers? They remind me a bit of the Titans. So there was the golden goo that is easy to equate with the black goo. At any rate, it is strange someone thought it would be a good idea to eat it let alone touch it.
Whatever RS is cooking up here, it certainly looks fascinating. Thanks for the heads up.
That is a great visual/concept connection georgygv that I missed for sure. Thank you.
Great LEGO xenomorph _zenn and thank you for sharing. The figure's proportions are spot on.
"His 2nd GIFT could be Raised by Wolves, which again i feel is him showing us the ideas/routes he may have gone with the Alien Covenants sequel to some degree..."
Raised by Wolves was the first thing I thought of when I watched The Seven Worlds BigDave.

The giants were providing shade for those walking beside them...great shot. I hope that The Seven Worlds is a picture of the landscapes we can expect in Raised by Wolves and the images below are a preview of advanced manufacturing maybe seen in upcoming work from Ridley Scott.

Yes, thank you Ridley Scott and Scott Free Productions, great work.

You are most welcome Lone.
The images you selected are almost a perfect match to sections of The Seven Worlds. And I love Moebius' work.
The image below was represented in concept in Prometheus with the LV-223 mural but you nailed it with the examples above.

"But that could be me reading into it too much!"
That's poppycock! Never BigDave...please always read into it too much. I believe that is a characteristic welcome in this universe.
I know Leto! The Seven Worlds is such a great combination of styles and a show of capabilities from Scott Free. Beautiful.
I'm not certain they'd risk two series, that's where it sounds like a rumor. Start with one and go from there.
There are many avenues to go with a TV Series however..
The ALIEN Franchise is More than Ripley and Xenomorphs. The Problem is having a Series that covers.
*Weyland or/and Yutani Company regarding what else they are up to, and rivalry that does-not revolved around the Time-Line of after the Covenant Mission.
*The Colonial Marines, as in regards to other missions and encounters that are NOT related to the Xenomorph or certainly events that transpire after Special Order 937
*Events on Earth, regarding what has led to Earth being a place that the Covenant Colonist wanted to get away from and start Fresh!
*The Hadleys Hope Colony from Building right until the event of its down-fall.
*The Engineers, either in our Past, or what other Worlds they had encountered... considering its UNLIKELY that Mankind on Earth and the ONLY Humanoid Race they had created and interacted with.
Then its open to explore what happens to information about LV-223, Origae-6 and Planet 4 or any other place where Engineers Technology and Bio-Weapons, which can but is not limited to the Xenomorph.
I feel the First FOUR Options would be more possible and cheaper to produce, but just as the Alien Covenant Origins Book was not about the Xenomorph or events during/after Alien Covenant... its a case of WHAT would Fans consider as a ALIEN TV Series that does-not have.
*Ripley connections and/or Xenomorphs
Maybe one about Colonial Marines or Hadleys Hope may please Fanboys of Aliens, and one about the Company History and Rivalry may please Alien Fanbase? (World Building and Exploration).
I think its take this News with a Pinch of Salt... we had rumors like this last year but thing then went quiet once the Take Over got more on the way.
I would not be so quick to take Mr H Reviews reply/assessment either (regarding which Source is Correct, time will tell on that) but he raises some valid points as far as looking at reasons WHY its unlikely. But its certainly likely his explanation regarding the HULU series, and Disney/Ridley Scott making a Series without FOX knowledge is unlikely for the reasons Mr H had revered too.
I will cover reasons why i think its unlikely too.
The disappointment of Alien Covenant and the Criticism over some of the Creative Decisions and Plot Direction, would have made Disney Cautious about any MAJOR investment as far as any Movie, but it would maybe be a case of NOT ruling out any TV Series/Streaming.
I think we need to remember the Rumors last year, were likely a misinterpretation about a Sci-Fi by Ridley Scott which ended up being Raised by Wolves. I think when we look at Raised by Wolves Plot, and the Set-Up for Alien Covenants sequel, it does appear some of the Plot of Raised by Wolves could be carrying over some Plot Elements that RS may have intended for Alien Covenants Sequel that he may have felt with the Limbo of the Franchise is unlikely making RS feel his ideas may NEVER get the Light in regards to a AC sequel... and so its perhaps why he went on to do Raised by Wolves. And its similar Plot.
No doubt FOX would have had a lot of ideas, but the Combination of the Disappointment of Alien Covenant, and the Disney Take Over would have no doubt but these on HOLD.. one of which likely may have been more work regarding Alien 5, as Carlos Huante released some concepts for a Red Harvest Project.
We cant 100% rule anything out, and we have to consider that THEY are offering quite a bit in regards to Amanda Ripley with their PLAY, READ and WATCH... we have the Mobile Game, we have the Comic and so the WATCH Element could be something like a Small Streaming Service. That could be a series of Shorts about Amanda Ripley, but its a case of will they be all CGI Affair like Alien Isolation's Cinematic Scenes, or a Actual Live Action Shorts?
I have said this a number of times, IF they have anything planned i think we only have to wait by April 26th ALIEN Day for any announcements/teasers and if we get nothing by then regarding anything regarding a TV Series/Streaming then it would be unlikely NOTHING of that sort is in the works or planned during the First Half of 2019.
Yeah, I would LOVE if this were true... and could very well be. But I think it's all but a rumor right now. Scott would be a producer regardless anyway so that's nothing new. But specific details are lacking. I'll keep an eye out tho.
Also - BIG site updates on the way. So watch out! ;)
Nice to hear. Thanks.
Beautiful, takes your breath away! Thanks for posting Ingeniero
Ridley is definitely channeling Moebius there, I'm seeing Arzak & Edena in particular. The giants (Master Burg) & giant foot, floating rocks, all Moebius. As we know, ALIEN, BladeRunner, Prometheus & Covenant are filled with Moebius touches.
Interestingly, Le Monde d'Edena grew out of a commercial Moebius designed for Citroen.
I've always thought how wonderful it would be if Ridley made a movie from one of Moebius's graphic works. Perhaps this ad will open him up to that idea. A match made in heaven me thinks.

daliens Let's not get our hopes high though (see the mr H review stuff also).
Very interesting. Thanks.
Looks interesting. One of two series can be AC sequel about David and Origae-6.
I just saw ignorantGuy posted the same on Scified.
"Does he only accept his own stuff?"
Thoughts_Dreams yes I think so lol. While I admire James Cameron as a filmmaker,I'm tired of his high and mighty attitude.Guess that's what happens when you make the top 2 most successful films of all time...
Amidst all this talk of James Cameron maybe returning to Alien, I'm reminded of The game Colonial Marines. For those less familiar with this travesty,It was an attempt to give Aliens "the sequel it always deserved".The difference was that it didn't delete Alien 3.Instead it attempted (very poorly I might add) to give fans answers as to where the egg on the Sulaco came from.Even Hicks was alive, faked his death apparently. If Cameron wanted to do something like this then maybe it could work.Though I don't think he'd ever tie into Alien 3 in any way unfortunately.
But that Mr H reviews guy claims that these claims are bogus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWKae09dNsc
Very Jean Giraud (Moebius) feel to this...
I think its well done.. i cant help but notice some themes that could connect to the Alien Prequels... both in context to what may have came in the past and what may come in the Future... (or had done).
But that could be me reading into it too much!
I have to get back and give a detailed explanation of what i interpret from this... But ALAS... its just a Advert. I cant help but read into it showing the Engineers/Their Creators History and Sub-Creation and Down-Fall due to this.
"The picture that BD posted reminds me of the first AVP movie the way that it has lights and that. AVP isn’t very good but at least it is not as crappy as AVPR."
Ha Ha... Indeed.... that movie shows to a Good Degree what can go wrong with a Shabby Plot, but more so unconvincing and poor Characters...
Then Budget also means NO Justice for the Xenomorphs, as a Tight Budget its harder to PULL OFF a Good Xenomorph if your going to show many of them and show them fully.
Double the Special Effects Budget and our Xenomorphs could have been passable like AVP...
But Characters well... sometimes even more MONEY does-not solve this.... Imagine a Aliens Movie with Expendable Franchise Characters written as Goofy as that movie?
Sometimes Low Budget Actors can do a Good Job, especially if you can cast some up coming Gems. Then its the Script and Director who have a big influence...
"It is not that Shaw didn’t have a personality, she had but she was naive and very annoying"
Totally Agree with that Statement, its a shame as they could have easily Fixed her for a sequel.
".. i think i recall you saying that DAVID was the only main INTERESTING Character from Prometheus... but NOW you are NOT interested in him... “
This comment may have seen harsh by me, it was not intended as such, it was to show that YOU have made some Very Good Points about how you can have a WORKING Character from a movie, and then Totally Fudge (posh word for F-word) in the sequel... Star Wars EP7 is a similar example... how Characters were done a disservice by EP8 and so i was saying how a Character you can like, can be ruined in a sequel if its NOT done right... on the Flip Side a Poorer Character can be FIXED too. But i agree its a harder task with DAVID now.
"robots and technology is interesting and how it can go wrong but at the same time I don’t think that the Alien franchise and its movies is about or should be about robots/androids."
Again i can agree... i felt it was interesting but it appears these things are taking Center Stage away from the Space Jockey Race, and the Monsters... so while interesting, by Virtue of a ALIEN Prequel they are a bit of a distraction away from what maybe makes a ALIEN movie a ALIEN movie. The Prometheus Creators Plot maybe brings the Surreal HP Lovecratian Space Jockey/Derelict more closer to MANKIND and less ALIEN and the sequel about David and AI again is taking it even further from anything ALIEN. And maybe in hindsight Prometheus should have been its OWN thing, that had no Alien Race who looked like the Space Jockey and Derelict, and No Weyland company then maybe it would have been allowed to have done other things.
Without quote everything else... i agree with what you are saying, and very good points... especially this one.
"Yeah possibly but then they might need to go to something more simple because if this movie bombs then it would be bad to end it on a cliff-hanger, justlook at AC."
Which is WHY a aftermath is best.... like AC was a aftermath to what David and Dr Shaw had been up to for the 10 years between Prometheus and Alien Covenant.... we never got that... but a Book would been nice...
And i feel this route is best option next... to arrive at the point when Davids World goes to POT... or the incoming Humans cause it to go to POT.
Here is the sequel to Alien Infestation. CGI looks pretty good too.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGTFsfu0w-o&t=3s
I will add hope that never came back HARSH... Leto ;)
I was actually agreeing with what you said... IF some fans want to see such a Reboot, why should those who oppose it have any problem... same with those who dislike Alien 3, or the Prequels or Alien Resurrection..
As DK said.. and yourself said.. You dont have to Watch it, and just consider which movies you like for your own Personnel Canon..
I am not against a Blomkamp Idea a more Aliens movie, or Cameron... i think we could get a movie thats a Spiritual Successor that is within the Franchise... i just dont like or see the need to Resurrect Dead Cast...
I can understand if its a Android, i can understand with Ripley 8 (even though flawed a bit)... And so i would not object to a Ripley 8 movie because it would continue the Franchise and allow for some Interesting things to be explored.
Surely the company would LOVE to get their hands on a Ripley 8 for the Potential of Re-Engineering her.
@Thoughts_Dreams
Good Points.... i will add though that the Prequels could be FIXED... I would rather FIX whats wrong than to Throw the Scrapbook out and Star Again.
But as discussed many times... the route of the Prequels leaves them in a Sticky Situation...
"Terminator seems to reset itself every 5 years to be honest"
To be honest it WORKS with that Franchise by Virtue of Time Travel which allows for a Ticket to Reboot Stuff and discount continuity... Take Star Wars.... introduce Time Travel and you can Ret-Con the New Movies by Virtue of Princess Leigh or Solo getting Killed by a Time Traveling Sith to Return of the Jedi.
Time Travel allows for such reboots and to ignore in-continuity, but at the cost of allowing them a easy ticket to do so over and over, and there is only so much you can do before introduce something Fresh.. and while having Arnold's T-800 introduced for Nostalgia, its a case of too much could damage the Credibility of the Original... But Cameron wont care about that, and Production companies wont if it makes MONEY.
But i wont want to see Time Travel or even Endless Reboots for the Alien Franchise, but then Credibility is damaged due to AVP movies, and Alien Covenant anyway.
"What's a problem? Don't want, don't see. But there are people who want to see! And be better (and honestly) if people get the sequel what they want."
Personally i would say NO! leave it alone...
But then some Fans feel bad about the Prequels, and also Killing off of Hicks and Newt and Popcorn and Nostalgia would maybe make a interesting movie if DONE-RIGHT.
No Fan OWNS the Franchise, Cameron does-not, and the likeliness of Ridley Scott not being able to Finish his Prequels shows even the Original Director does-not OWN the Franchise.
But then its a case of DISNEY owns it and IF they decided to make a more Fanboy Movie, thats up to them... i guess you have to look at it from their point of view... if it looks likely to make more MONEY than the Prequels.. and Re-Introduce the Franchise to a New Generation... you cant really argue against that.
My concern is ONCE they take this Path (resurrect Hicks, Newt and Ripley) its where do they STOP?
Once CGI gets better so that you could Digitally Bring back say John Hurt and have him be almost indistinguishable from his appearance in the 70's (so say much better than Star Wars and Tarkin) its another case of WHERE do they Stop?
The other Concern is what Damage/Credibility happens with the Prequels.. But i guess IF some fans chose to IGNORE them thats up to them, just as much as IF some fans want to Ignore Alien 3 or even Camerons/Blomkamps ALIEN 5
So while its not the route i would GO... i guess i have no say, and its IF it makes money, and more so IF it actually ends up being Good, then i guess we can look at it and enjoy it, yet still consider Alien 3.
Another Concern (this will ruffle some feathers) is Miss Weaver, she was the ONE who wanted her Character killed off in Alien 3 because she had enough.... But she soon wanted to be in Alien Resurrection $$$$$$$
Blomkamps Project never even had Ripley/Miss Weaver, until they talked on set of Chappie and she convinced him to introduce Ripley to the Story.... If they IMPROVE CGI then Miss Weaver would be willing to go for another 5 movies lol.
I dont object to her continuation... if they went the sequel to Alien Resurrection Route... thats just my Personal Opinion and in the schemes of Movie Making and Sequel that does not mean NOWT! unless Millions feel the same.
Even then..... its whatever Disney Feel would make $$$$$$
Whatever JC may release, I will likely end up watching it. If it messes with the Quadrilogy, I will just re organize it all in my own mind. I just cannot imagine the audacity of shoe horning a movie in while giving the middle finger to half of the series.
I think maybe i have been a bit HARSH on the idea of a ALIENS Sequel...
I think Retrospectively... if we NEVER had a Aliens Sequel, so NO Alien 3, then the thought of having a Sequel to ALIENS many years latter that continues with Ripley, Hicks and Newt with some of the ideas from Blomkamps Concepts, would actually be not to bad, and appealing, certainly have the appeal and INTEREST from Aliens Fans.
My ONLY Concerns are we have seen Ripley in TWO more installments, that were kind of Flawed but also had their own Merits, we also had another Installment with the Queen (not inc AVP). So potentially its a case of how many more times can we see the Queen and Ripley, i feel AVP movies had damaged the Xenomorph a bit too.
HOWEVER... my Main Concern would be the IGNORING Alien 3 and Resurrection from Canon... and more so its a case of IF they took this route and it made MONEY... its WHERE do they draw the Line?
Prequel Reboots, ALIEN Reboot?
Amazing! Beautifully! Masterpiece!
Music, visual, plot!
Strange liquid, Engineers, Androids, Space Jockeys. Yeah, perfect.
Amazing work.
