As for The Alien V predator stuff I am very excited to see what you come up with, from the outline it all looks/sounds/reads as terriffic! Can;t wait to be reading you again.

a conscience implies that the creature has some kind of moral ethic, or a perceived understanding of its actions that's not what i mean. I merely think it would be good to have a view point of its perception how ever that may manifest itself . It would of course be hard to pull of seeing though it doesn't have eyes as we understand them but i was thinking of the batman film the dark knight, and how they displayed sonar technology that is one way of filming a kind of perceived environment. incidentally i do think the xeno works mainly on instinct but its open to interpretation anything is possible in an alien mind.

Okay I'm working on the premise, the synopsis of AVP3, here it is in very, very basic form... Set in 1904 a team of Russian and American scientists "rent" Razorback Point whaling station during the off-season for whaling. The Predator vessel from AVP and AVPR shows up, the Queen inside the pyramid is awoken, eggs are laid and the elder Predator kills one of the humans leaving a blood trail to the whaling station. Once 7 aliens have been sired the Predators block access to the pyramid and put the Queen back in the freezer, forcing one of the Drones to become a warrior to lead the pack and also forcing the Aliens to turn one of the humans into an egg, incubating a royal Facehugger. The Predator rite of passage then begins with 3 teenage Predators. Within 5 minutes one is killed by the Warrior. The other two salvage parts of his gear before dissolving him... I am working on what happens next, but I know the final showdown will be between the Warrior Alien and lone surviving Predator, whom will win but will be revealed to be Wolf from AVPR (getting his burn scar from the Warrior).

I actually find the anchorpoint essays overblown and too theoretical myself.

You guys do realize that you don't need to have a conscious to think, right? Narcisictic people do it all the time. So Conscious isn't a determining factor in determining the intelligence of a being, just that they don't care about what they do.

Not to be too critical, I appreciate anyone who makes the effort to build a community, but I would have used PHPBB to do this site. It's free and has lots of features like that, plus you're able to search topics, there's a member reputation system, real-time chat, lots of user end options and add-ons.

Oh dear, you know it would be a real joy if on some level we had an indication of peoples ages on here that way i wouldn't have to keep rolling my eyes at the naive babble that gets turfed out on some of these threads and i can forgive some of the younger posters for some of their inane speculation. Forgive me guys but please do some research before posting it can save a lot of negative feedback and Criticism. I just like to add none of us know everything associated with the films and the alien lore here but there are some very basic things that can be answered very easily with a little research either here or on your favourite search engine . Just trying to be helpful . Live long and prosper! lol.

Geoph, I just woke up so I'll try and make sense of this. What do you want to know specifically about the Alien history? You really should read through the forums there is a lot of good information in here. Craigo and Ripley Clone 8 knows a lot about the Alien Storyline even though we agree to disagree on the corporation because I have his eggo, Snorkler (Snorklebottom) is very knowledgeable about Aliens and Alien Anatomy, Sparky (Sparticus) and Biomech are very knowledgeable about Giger related stuff. Ruh (Ruhianya) knows a lot about hallucingenic perishables and Alien Toys, Cypher knows alot about Guyver (yeah I know unrelated but still cool), BugHunter is into Predators (yeah I know he has a nasty fetish :P), oh and my bud Neurion he is good at lurking. i just realized something that kinda just made me look like a jerk in my first post... if this is a prequel to alien then it wouldnt matter if they go to check out the same ship that ripley went to check out.... they could have moved the family into the new ship that these guys land in!...... i feel stupid

and to elaborate on what i wanna know (cause i stopped looking up info on aliens long ago) how the ship they were in got on LV-426, where did they come from, how did they get transported from there, whats their favorite food, do they sleep? are some of them nice? do they brush their teeth, and more importantly what happens when they lose a tooth.... okay so maybe not the last 3 or 4 but i still got some questions i want answered in a movie! to be honest i posted my first comment before actually reading up on the movie cause i was too tired to do so just like im pretty tired right now. anyway i still doubt im going to enjoy this movie cause i want to know some pretty specific things about the Alien history (movie wise) and i doubt ill get that outta this movie; however, if there is going to be a sequel to the prequel like some people think an is being hinted at then i think thats what ill be looking forward to. any way good morning imma go pass out now

yes i remember hearing somewhere that a scientist in one of the movies said that they dont think they just do, react, survive. i personaly think that the xenos are extreamly smart, just as smart as humans if not smarter.... they just dont speak English so we think theyre stupid

The temple behind the alleged totem appears IMO to move independently to the derelict, & IMO the movement is due to the camera panning with the action rather than the temple actually moving, although I did appreciate the pictures that @Biomechanic produced :)

I'm sure in the shot of the derelict crashing you see part of the temple. It doesn't move in the same way as the derelict crashing (if at all, it appears the camera is moving and the temple is static) but the shot of the derelict crashing does not give much reference to where the human ship was parked...
