It runs from the leaked trailer as shown, something jumps out of an opening (could be a mouth, egg, ampule) then appears to attach to someone. The last photo appears to be lots of tenticles from the footage.......

Very interesting, this isnt something I noticed before. Can't make out the first 2 pics very well but the 3rd certainly looks like tentacles/pincers.

Good job with the screen shots, BellaisanAlien! I enlarged with three photos and in one I saw two eyes maybe? My guess the 3 shots are showing whatever it is that melts the poor guy's helmet, enroute to doing that. I'd love to see more of these screen shots of the trailer - how about with the scene where the derelict is crashing and the women are running to get out of the way? Some of think there could be other things in that scene, like a building or faces in rocks and the hillside.

Honestly, I've been trying not to frequent the boards because I really want to be surprised for the movie but I can't help it!
Back when these trailers were still roaming about there was a post about that same "eel-like" creature. It was obviously removed because it would have definitely given more information to the movie's monster(s).
I'm really excited because when you watch the original Alien trailer you don't get a glimpse of the actual Alien; it was very well hidden. So who knows what we're going to get.
I was looking at some of Giger's artwork and this one really caught my eye. It looks a lot like the "eel" creature that was described from early screener trailers:

I think this is a great candidate for what we might get. The question is, how did it originate? I wouldn't be surprised if this comes off as a side-story within the movie, Prometheus doesn't seem like its mainly about the Alien's origin and thats what I'm most excited about.
ReplyZetaReticuliPrometheus Forumsomething we havnt seen beforeFeb 17, 2012
My mind's reeling with what the main creature(s) will look like.
'it's even scaring the designers' was one quote I read while the film
as still in production. I really hope it will be nightmarish beyond belief
- but is that possible these days? Only Giger's imagery can disturb on
a gut level. Google 'giger walpurgis' and you'll see what I mean.

ReplydarkgrafixPrometheus ForumSome kind of structure in the Waterfalls sceneFeb 17, 2012
I'm still trying to figure out what his scene even has to do with the overall film. It looks so out of place like a disc type UFO hovering over Niagara Falls. There is some type of structure though.
ReplyEngineer Prototype - Model GAJ84Prometheus ForumSome kind of structure in the Waterfalls sceneFeb 17, 2012
I noticed this a while ago. It looks to me like the UFO is coming up out of some kind of building or hangar. Could it be on the Spacejockey/Engineer planet? I'm willing to put a bet on that this structure is the Jockey/Engineers main base of operations.
ReplyDropyourlinenPrometheus ForumSome kind of structure in the Waterfalls sceneFeb 17, 2012
This had been discussed before - I can't find the thread, but someone posted a picture of the actual waterfall, in daylight, and the rectangular looking chunk in the background is actually part of the natural landscape, clearly visible in the light of day
ReplyEGR101Prometheus ForumSome kind of structure in the Waterfalls sceneFeb 17, 2012
Yea, sadly, that mysterious structure is part of the natural landscape. Google Dettifoss, and you will see it. I myself want it to be the ancient alien temple. I guess it is not that kind of story.

ReplyRizzlePrometheus ForumSpace Jockey Ship ShapeFeb 17, 2012
Hmmm, I don’t really know about how it would enter atmospheres, but Ive always thought of the thing flying with its arms to the front. Judging from the trailer, it seems that the jockeys ship sits on its back end, with the arms stretched skyward, when it lands on a planets surface.
In the trailer.... after the explosion on the derelict, while its in the air... it seems that the ship attempts to make a crash landing, and as it comes down on its back end, the combined force of the explosion and the landing, cause the ship to tip and roll over in the direction of its left arm. This is depicted in the last three or four closing shots of the trailer. That is what Rapace and Theron are running away from, at the end. The ship is toppling over on top of them, and they are trying to outrun the arm crashing down upon them from above.
The ship IS bio mechanical in nature. In Prometheus the ship is still alive, which is why the barreled bulkheads are covered with technology, as opposed to the dead bony structure we see in Alien. Its interesting to note that the ships color is a bluish hue in Prometheus, while it looks a dull brownish color in Alien, probably due to dust, and the fact the ship has been lying there decaying for so long
Replyred hoodPrometheus ForumSpace Jockey Ship ShapeFeb 17, 2012
I know, I always envisioned it flying with arms to front. But that would make no sense when you take onto entering different planet zones. I'm sure Earths is not the most violent. So the shape would be ass backwards for entering and leaving. It is way cool concept bit would it work?
ReplyGreatBoosUpPrometheus ForumSpace Jockey Ship ShapeFeb 17, 2012
I think the derelict ship has a force field which protects it from atmospheric friction.
I agree with Rizzle, the derelict is biomechanical. In Prometheus the ship is "alive". In Alien, the ship is "dead" and "derelict". Maybe the derelict ship has the ability to flex its "arms" depending on various atmospheric/astronomic condition? Who knows, maybe when the derelict first crashed on LV-486, the "arms" were closer together like a horseshoe and as the ship "died" the arms slowly spread apart?
Compare the spacejockey chair room in Prometheus with the room in Alien. In Alien the floor is sunken. Probably from a combination of time and the Alien that burst out of the Space Jockey. In Prometheus the floor seems to be covered in plates.

To tie in the whole series i think this happen.
Dead SJ is infected by whatever is in the vases. The chestburst from Sj is the Queen. Queen layes eggs. Its all tied in.

I know the Queen was not from Mr Scott, but the above ties it all together.

If whatever bursts out of the SJ's chest lays the eggs, did it also transport and neatly lay the eggs out in an orderly fashion in the cargo bay and then activate the "blue-mist shield" that kept the eggs nice and fresh as well??? Sorry folks. I just don't see how that works.

ReplyGreatBoosUpPrometheus ForumEggs on the ship of the derelict in 'Alien'. What if...Feb 17, 2012
I thought Giger had imagined that the eggs descended out of a hole in the wall of the egg chamber beneath the derelict?
Alien Egg Silo
Also, don't the eggs have tentacles at their base? so each egg could slither and crawl into position relative to the other eggs?
ReplydarkgrafixPrometheus ForumWho Laid the first Egg in Alien Feb 17, 2012
In the derelict or the Nostromo? If it's the derelict then I guess we'll find out in Prometheus since there were thousands but if it's in the Nostromo, I would say, according to the cut footage, the Alien "laid" the first egg, cocooning up Dallas and Brett, making them into more eggs. Hard to say. Or maybe the first egg was laid inside Kane to produce the Alien.
ReplyThe Third JunctionPrometheus ForumWho Laid the first Egg in Alien Feb 17, 2012
According to a spoiler plot that was posted during the trailer release, the eggs on the derelict are a byproduct of vicious skeletal creatures that have mated with the bio-brain. The creatures are mutations of half of the crew that became infected from the weaponized bio-former.
ReplySXVPrometheus ForumWho Laid the first Egg in Alien Feb 17, 2012
For the last time that was a fanmade plot summary written at IMDB, FFS
there's no biobrain, no bioformer, nothing whatsoever
ReplyNineteenHundredPrometheus ForumGive your Scene for Prometheus that would be better than Cherstbuster Alien 1979Feb 17, 2012
Well the shock of the Chestburster is not what happens horror-wise, it's the fact that they were happy eating a meal together beforehand. So if you want something to echo that in Prometheus maybe...a couple making love? Then it's interrupted by something happening to one of them?
ReplyMekja-TekPrometheus ForumGive your Scene for Prometheus that would be better than Cherstbuster Alien 1979Feb 17, 2012
When you find out there is another creature more vicious than the xeno, that makes the SJ and Engineers take a figurative dump when it gets unleashed mistakenly by the humans. lol

If a crew member suddenly transformed into a "skeletal monstrosity" controlled by the SJs and started eating the other members of the crew, that would be shocking.

It would be cooler if the SJs were transporting the blueprint for an Alien queen and the biomechanical technology to produce the queen on demand.
Replyskyguy1054Alien Movies ForumTwitchy DroidsFeb 17, 2012
If Bishop refers (in Aliens) to Ash's model as always having been "a bit twitchy" I wonder how much more primitive(wd?) the android technology will be in this film set ~30 yrs prior and how that will play into the androids behavior and particularly their motivation.
Also remember, in BladeRunner, all the replicants really want is not revenge for what amounts to slavery, but simply "more life." Given the overall theme of BR, about what it means to be human, and given the motivation of ALL the androids in the Alien films, it seems reasonable that they all want to become more than what they are made to be.
Replyskyguy1054Alien Movies ForumTwitchy DroidsFeb 17, 2012
Maybe Ash is an earlier, cheaper model and therefore more disposable. He, like the Alien he admires, is unclouded by "delusions of morality," therefore he has no objection to being considered just as "expendable" as the human crew. A more advanced, (expensive?) model like Bishop - who is admittedly "artificial but not stupid" - has no desire to be disposed of without reason. In Alien Resurection (which I hesitate to cite at all) Call opens up even more about the treatment and resistance of androids to their human creators.

Alien was the best, but i don't understand why so many people slag off Alien 3. I loved it more than aliens. aliens was good and i will quite happily watch it . But if you watch the directors cut of alien, believe me it is much better. the whole dread of never escaping this creature, banding together with strangers imprisoned not just physically on a prison planet but within themselves. _they are murderers , rapists etc but it seems they have a chance to slightly redeem themselves. It was so Gothic, dark and all metaphorical. I loved it i really did, the build up, the settings, the idea.... it was so Grim and scary. The scariest location out of the movies.... Well still nothing beats the first of course.

The original smooth domed alien.
i do not understand and always have wondered and hope someone can explain why in aliens and beyond they changed most of the aliens to rigid heads and not smooth. I don't like the rigid approach, kind of makes them more insect like.
