I also am a huge fan of the comics and believe that Alien 3 should of carried on with the story of Newt/Hicks. I think that the Earth-War story was great and I would have loved to have seen that on the big screen! And believe that Alien Resurrection was terrible and if they stuck to the comics it would have been entirely different as would the AVP films. Also just recently re-read Aliens: Apocalypse the destroying angels comic very relevant in regards to Prometheus :) 1st post ever!

Dead Space was really scary when I played it for the first time at night with headphones and alone. DS 2 is not that scary. I agree about Silent Hill. And those ghouls from Fallout were more annoying than scary.

Every time I reply to this post it seems to get deleted. Hmmm? Hope this one goes through... detachable reproductive appendage and all. Now observe the first piece of art in this post, it made me think about the worm/tentacle thing from the leaked trailer. Now the interesting bit is that the creature/being is seated in what looks like the SJ's device. There's a glowing screen above the head on the left, and beside we see what seems like the three sarcophagi seen in the teaser. Even though the layout in artwork is not in the radial pattern as the chamber from the movie, I think this piece might be a hint of something of the DNA everyone keeps mentioning. That encased creature has a xeno-like face. That hand appears to be another larger being compared to the one in the chair. Do you remember the Comic-Con image with a bio-mech looking hand that look like it activated the holographic projection close to the armrest?

At first I thought it was a sheet sliding off something. But no..... It's a slimy tentacle-y thingamabobba. I'm thinking aquatic.

We're operating on far too little to seriously approach a question that big...I mean, she's the apparent protagonist...one that obviously goes through a lot physically and emotionally and we're not even sure what happens first, the supposed alien pregnancy business or the crash at the end of the trailer....who knows.....either way, knowing Ridley, I can see a sequel with or without Shaw.....He's just that that kind of batshit crazy genius..... @Cypher, There really is something nebulous and self aggrandizing about the way Weaver approached the sequels and you just feel like she's squirming in her seat about 'Prometheus', like she can't bear the idea it might surpass any sequel she was eminently inolved in or even responsible for....

Superb db! The filigreed, sinewy detailing on the hands and neck is just great. Does that chicken-wire inside the head rub or have you lined it with some foam sheeting or similar for padding?

@ZetaReticli: Thanks! I haven't added foam yet. If needed, I'll put it under the shoulder/neck area for a little height boost and insulation against rubbing. I have about one inch of literal "head-room" above me so it's not needed in the actual head (yet).

Her music sounds pretty much atmospheric and suitable from what I've heard. I like 'Changelings', 'I am Shell I am Bone' and first half of 'Men like Gods'.

i like how one of the songs is called Men Like Gods......considering the subject matter of the film. im sure thats not the song featured in the promo though.

She could've been commissioned to write that particular track for the intro project Reece - co-incidence? Who knows?

Possibly a mutated crew member preparing to go on a rampage... Anyhoo, unless the timerate for the release of this film doesn't increase I believe that all of us will begin to change into this quasi-human confoguration. Yes, I said confoguration, since it is something new for humantity... };>D

If you can get a clean copy of that picture and zoom in you can see the top of his head has split and there is a silvery black elongated head coming out of the gash. This has been discussed before. I'm just waiting for the movienow because this site has become just another "chat room" and even the ideas and conjecture are getting way off the mark. I'd post a good copy of that picture but I am on my tablet at this moment..... I may not come back to this site for some time now either.

wow nice a closeup of the guy..yeah it does look like hes turnng into somthing...there is another short clip of some woman in white and she is also turnng into some kind of rabid killer creature..although when it shows her she looks human..is that thng on his head actually a part of the helmut...was the helmet glass broken and is that a part of the top of it

f you look at the second traler someone gets their face burned with some sort of acid vapor..its that guy his face is like that from being burned...its the same guy as for that black protrusion at the back of his head that is from his space helemt...the glass has been smashed out however there is still a part of the helmet that curves at the top the guy isnt transforming into anythng...he gets hit by some sort of acid vapor and his helmets glass is smashed out

Well then go back to the father ...John Foxx is a genius of music ...he DID change music while others went famous . Metamatic is a turning point for modern music . His masterpieces are my soundtrack from more than 25 years ( im also a great ultravox fan )

@ Frantz ....yeah I dig Ultravox and Midge Ure as well....who could forget...Vienna ...so mystic and so cool....also liked his earliers band Visage....that "fade to grey" number is what they best known for..

Yes Juxt .... there are so many Ultravox songs ( both with Foxx and with Ure ) that would be great pieces of soundtracks ... ( Mr.x ...Astradyne ...I remember .... My sex ....Just for a Moment ...Slow motion ...Private Lives ...The ascent ...ahhh too many ... ) ..and that not counting the fantastic solo career of Foxx and the also good one of Midge . Many dont know but Foxx did a soundtrack for Antonioni too .

Frantz I am more fimiliar with Midge Ure....I have only heard one album from ultravox....the one with Vienna....bought it just for that song.....but I found the rest of the album rather pleasant....later I got the greatest hits of Midge ure....i saw him performing "Phantom of the opera" with Heather Nova...(one of my other favourite artists...check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQBq9TNELcc Sorry I still don't know how to post a proper active link or picture...but the above should work if u paste it as a URL.

Checked the John Foxx site for the link to Gazelle Twin, but couldn't find anything. I love the late 70s/early 80s Electro scene too, with a passion. I'm happy there's even a tenuous link to Prometheus to this music genre. It would be nice to have a retro synth-based soundtrack for the main film, but laced with a very dark ambient style in keeping with the subject matter and as a nod to the era in which both Alien and Blade Runner were made.

yep midge have a great voice ( still good ) ...and i saw that great performance too. Btw now with youtube is possible to hear everything and then decide to buy ...give a try to the john foxx tracks expecially the ultravox of the Foxx era . BTW i dont find that Gazelle track so great ..average music at best ( imo )

Yep, seen those before. The ONE pic in there that I haven't found any previous discussion on is the center of the third row from the bottom. Forgive me if it's been run into the ground... The "biomechanical" arm and hand resting on what looks like possibly the SJ chair. Has this been talked about before?

Some of those are new to me... And it has the shot of the hand above the medical scanner that craigamore and I were looking for :-D

The hand is on the control panel near the perimeter chair in the SJ map room, not to be confused with the larger pilot's chair in the center where the SJ actually sits. from what i remember of the original story arc, when there was only one alien around, it's job was to capture and mutate a host into an egg that would produce a queen, which would then go on to lay further eggs. I think much of the Alien history is what has been built around the Dark Horse comic series over the years and that has in some way formed the cannon for what we know of the alienverse. Was watching the Alien Blu-ray myself the other day, and did wonder if anyone knew why the Nostromo engine destruct instructions was in english and french (i think) and why Ripley was reading the french instructions. i'm still going with the events that a Queen was created somewhere (following the Aliens story arc) to create all the eggs and that the face hugger is dormant till the egg is tripped and then activates the face hugger. BUT..Scott did say that this is a spin on what we know, so is open to debate on where the eggs, derelict and SJ fits in. Who thinks that Jar-Jar Binks is a candidate for the alien blueprint, seems to have the dimensions and bits in place for it :)
