I think that beyond some Bland Characters that Alien Resurrection had a LOT to it if we looked BEYOND what it seemed to SHOW....

When looking at the Xenomorph as a Bio-Weapon as in you DROP some Eggs some place and Watch them Exterminate the Population... i think that this is NOT the Best kind of Weapon that Humanity has... or even the Engineers.. especially the Engineers.

The Xenomorph makes Little Sense in this Context vs the other Options...

It HOWEVER makes Perfect Sense if we look at the David the Creator Angle, but this is a SORE SUBJECT for many.

And so for me i think to Genetically look at the Xenomorph and WHAT can be Gained by its Survival Traits is the BIGGER PAY OFF... and a LOT of this would FIT in with the ENGINEERS main Agenda (which is NOT to KILL Humans) and Peter Weylands (which is NOT to use them as Killing Machines).

The QUEST for IMMORTALITY so to Speak...... RS had said he felt the Xenomorph could Regenerate... but that Conflicts the Franchise, depending to WHAT kind of Degree.  In Context to the Movies the Closest we have seen to IMMORTALITY is via David 8 and Ripley 8 and so i think such things are something that gives more Reward than trying to Obtain and USE the ALIEN as a Killing Machine but such PLOTS are something that may NOT go and be Everyone's Cup of Tea.

Ive NOT read many Comics but some of the ALIEN V ideas did seem to suggest that they was thinking of having some kind of Technology Attached to the Xenomorph in a ATTEMPT to Control them.... this is a ANGLE that could be Explored in a Movie or TV Series as ALONE the Xenomorph is just a kind of Pest Control..

As in you take out Mice with Cats but then if these Cats are Dangerous and Parasitic then you just Create another Problem.... UNLESS they have Limited Procreation and Life-Span....

To a Degree the Xenomorph is like this.... if we have a Limited Life Span and even if the Queen would DIE eventually.... the Xenomorph can-not Procreate without a HOST and so Eventually you would have a Place that would just have EGGS which are waiting for a HOST..... if you can Safely Collect those Eggs to RE-USE then YES the Xenomorph as a Weapon has some USES... but then surely other forms of Biological Warfare are better or NUKES!

The WHAT NEXT has NEVER been covered in the Movies as things go to POT before we get to that Point (as a Example if the USM Auriga had Contained the Xenomorphs then WHAT was their PLAN).

Using the Xenomorph as it is would be RISKY its a case of Containment if you can Succeeded with this.. another thing then is HOW can you CONTROL them or Attempt and i think this is something that the TV Series could attempt to look at.

But i think there is a BIGGER PICTURE if you look at WHAT can be Gained from a Xenomorph, and its NOT to use it as a kind of Pest Control/Cat. I think RS had intended to look at it like this and to THINK outside the Box so to speak.

Well you can still have xenomorphs just without Weyland-Yutani involved is what I meant. Taking the Alien RPG into an account there is a interstellar cold war between the Three World Empire (UK + Japan + smaller countries) and United America vs the Union of People's Progression (Russia + Germany + Spain + China + Unified Korea + other countries)

Hoping its an Alternate Universe, fingers crossed, this ALIEN TV SERIES sounds very terrible

I think Regarding to the ALIEN Franchise, it has its LIMITATIONS and you can go and give us another 2 Movies, be that a more ALIEN, ALIEN 3 or a ALIENS ALIEN R but then its WHAT can you do that has NOT been done before?

The COMICS had explored Various stuff but they DONT differ too much, even IF we had Dark Horse back and they made another 2-3 Comics... WHAT would they do that has NOT been done already?

There is stuff you can do... but IF your going to BASE it around the Xenomorph then what is there to do thats NOT been done over and over?

There Certainly is a LOT to the Franchise beyond the Xenomorph...

The Problem you have in Exploring these in a SPIN OFF would be that to BRAND it and get Recognition then you would be drawn to using the ALIEN Pre-Fix but in doing so then you would be some be Expected that it has to Include the Xenomorph.... its kind of a Catch 22.

Looking at the Previous work by Fedé Alvarez then YES this Movie will be more HORROR BASED than Action... looking at what we know so FAR its likely that some Group of what 4-8 Humans in their 20's/30's will Stumble upon a Weyland-Yutani Space Station... which likely could have been doing some Research.

So it could be likely we are in for a ALIEN ISOLATION meets ALIEN RESURRECTION...  as in if we Imagine the USM Auriga being Abandoned and then a Team of 5 or so Humans arrive at the Ship....

With Ridley Scott attached i think we can maybe have HOPE this will NOT be a Straight up group of Young Humans stumble upon a Egg or Two and then SPEND the Next 45-60 Minutes running away and trying to HIDE and getting KILLED, with the End being we see the ALIEN SOB... Blasted into Space!

If we GET such a Movie then ok..... but we have to look at WHERE to go after this, i think we NEED something NEW and its a CASE of will the Movie or TV Series really offer this?

This TV series sounds more and more like were getting an ALIEN RESURRECTION 2: the Series

I figured the Weyland-Yutani Corporation wouldn't release regular xenomorphs on people, that would do more harm than good for WYC.

In the Dark Horse Comics and Video Games, we see that Weyland-Yutani or its competitor BioNat or a rogue Colonial Marine Colonel attempt to breed a loyal brand of xenomorphs either via conditioning or turning the xenomorphs into cyborg servants (Xenoborgs).

The former was a bad idea as Colonel Thomas A.W. Spears found out the hard way. The latter worked better seeing the xenoborgs were completely loyal to WYC.

Nice Video Ingeniero.... Special Order 937 was always something Interesting to Debate.... i think its KINDA gonna be MUTE! Now....... by Virtue of the TV Series and its TIME-LINE (which is a Major Dumb Move).  Its a Case of DISNEY going to Re-Write the Canon! Unless the TV Series is a ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE.

Looking at the 2nd Image would seem to Indicate that we will Deal with some point in the TV Series that will see a WY Ship Crash into a Area/City that is Ran/Owned by the Prodigy Company which will RESULT in a Exploration of the SHIP. I suspect that WY would want their Ship back, but the Prodigy Corp may be like Finders Keepers... especially regarding the Xenomorph.

The 3rd Image we have a Chest Bursted Cryo-Pod, so we have someone who had been Infected by a Xenomorph and its likely the Xenomorph in Question would lead to the Ships Demise and eventual Crash!

Earlier Concepts had indicated inside some Ship/Outpost we see Eggs and these Eggs are NOT like Contained in Storage Containers/Glass... so they likely got there as a Result of a Xenomorph.... this is maybe NOT going to be via a QUEEN.. which could END UP as not pleasing some...

If it was a QUEEN the its a case of WHERE has she GOT too and i think to THROW IN a Queen so Early on would not be a Good Pay Off... and so it could be we would see the EGG MORPH?

But then its IF the Earlier Concept will make it to the TV Series.

It depends what you mean, the Weapons of the ALIEN Universe do-not have to be Limited to what we had seen in ALIENS... but you make Good Points regarding the USE of Swords vs a Xenomorph... at Close Quarters your risking SPLASH DAMAGE from the Acid Blood.

But WHAT we have to remember is that WENDY is NOT a Human in the Traditional Sense but a Genetically Engineered... Super Human.

The Concept Art is not CLEAR... but the Figure does have Feminine Attributes. Which could mean its more LIKELY that the Child's Soul/Memory are in a Genetically Enhanced Female Body. So the TRANS Element would be as such, i had Suspected earlier on it could be a Human Girl Soul in a MALE BODY.

Still engaging a Xenomorph in this WAY is NOT ideal.... but then WHO KNOWS as to what kind of Enhancements the Enhanced Humanoids have, if they can REGENERATE like Ripley 8 then they could HEAL any kind of Acid Wounds if they are NOT that Serious....

But if this is the case and Wielding a Pair of Katana, then this could easily become like a WOLVERINE VS ALIEN.... which i dont think is a Good Idea.

Well i would not say this is from the SET... if it is then its NOT that Great of a Special Effects... this is likely a Mock Up from some Concept Work.

If we do ASSUME this Shot is NOT from any Game but is a Concept Work based image then what it leads me to is that this is MOST likely to be a Space Station of sorts.

In which case the PLOT would seem similar to ALIEN ISOLATION in that we would have a Group this Time of 20 year old somethings... who END UP going to and Investigating some Research Station and then making a Horrific Discovery.

A Space Station will NOT be as Claustrophobic as a Ship it gives plenty more Space to RUN and HIDE which is what i think most of this Movie will be about.

You can replicate the Claustrophobic feel of ALIEN by having the Humans become CUT-OFF from their Space Ship (maybe Sabotaged) and then Power/Lights being CUT by either Xenomorphs or some Antagonist who came aboard with the Humans (or maybe is already on the Space Station).

Another Advantage of this being a SPACE STATION is we could see that some kinds of Experiments had been worked on which means we can get something thats NOT like 100% the Traditional Xenomorph.

But this may NOT sit well with some.... but i Welcome it VS the Normal Xenomorph has been Collected to Mass Produce as a WEAPON based on just Unleashing the Beast upon a Populace... as YAWN! we been there in a way and we shall see this in the TV Series. (Accidentally but AVPR we already saw this too).

Xenomorph... the Ultimate Survivor i would say YES.... and this can be Expanded upon.

Xenomorph... the Ultimate Prey/Test for a Yautja? I would say YES...

Xenomorph... the Ultimate Weapon?  Well absolutely NO!

There was a LOT in Alien Covenant because the Plot had a LOT of things to it that was something we NEVER saw in Depth (Various Experiments by David) which he (David) had been working on, which we only saw Briefly on Screen (works on the Wall and Organisms on the Tables etc).

For a Traditional ALIEN Movie then you DONT need a lot of Concept work as far as the Xenomorph, we all know what it looks like.... Unless the PLOT will have and give us something a LITTLE DIFFERENT.... but you always RUN the RISK of upsetting People if you CHANGE the Xenomorph too much.

Some people were NOT that Happy with the Xenomorph in Alien Covenant but it is Basically the same as in the Franchise, it is more Xenomorph than what we saw in Alien 3 and Alien R.....

We have NO idea as to the TIME-LINE of the Movie will it be set before ALIEN? set between ALIEN and ALIENS or set after ALIENS/ALIEN 3.. i doubt it would be set after ALIEN RESURRECTION...

With Ridley Scott attached to the Project its a case of WHAT kind of Input will he have on the Movie?  He had said that the Xenomorph has kind of been done to Death, but he had said you could EVOLVE IT and explore other TYPES of Procreation... the Problem is IF such changes are too much they could UPSET some people who may like the Xenomorph to remain as we have seen it.

So a LOT would depend on WHERE the Ship in Question is located and WHEN in the Time-Line.  But then also WHERE had the Eggs on the Ship came from.

I think this is Good News, he and Matt Hatton did a lot of Work for Alien Covenant and a LOT of this was in Davids Notes/Drawings.... There was a LOT

Sadly, judging from what Hawley has being saying, its going to be worse, much worse.

another I can agree with you on is the Giger-quality. This newer xenomorph design looks like something straight out of a Resident Evil/Biohazard game

The sword thing looks like something that could have been in Star Wars. Put into the context of Alien it just looks… odd and something that I don't think would be very useful when it comes to fighting a Xeno. I try to keep an open mind about this and hope for the best.

As far as the quality is concerned the pictures look good. The last one reminds me a bit about the ship from Covenant, I think that's where they tried to shoot a monster and shit got messed up. Eventually it was Faris that did the shooting, but I could be wrong. Please let the Hawley thing be better than Covenant, and Prometheus.

Sure, why not? It wasn't his fault that Alien Covenant wasn't better than… average, maybe. Don't take this answer like I defend Prometheus because I'm not. Unfortunately, both prequels have things that they fail with. I like the picture. As with his pictures from alien Covenant I also like this one a lot. Maybe this one is better than those that I've seen from Covenant, I can't decide. Even though it hasn't got Giger-quality I like it.

Let's hope that Alien Romulus is at least as good as this picture, as far as quality goes. Alien Covenant wasn't as interesting as the art-work was. Put on a scale the art-work for AC was 3,5 out of 5, the movie was a 2 out of 5.

But shield tech is absent in the alien-verse. Humans aren't that advanced in the ALIEN series, this isn't Star Wars or Star Trek were everyone and their mothers have laser and phaser weapons. The humans of the Alien-universe still fire metallic bullets just guided with computers. 

So wielding swords to kill a freaking xenomorph is frakking dumb, you'll get its acid blood all over you. The only reason the yautja (predators) wield mostly melee weapons against the xenomorphs is because their entire society has a death wish. Humans are smarter than that, humans typically prefer range over melee because our society evolved away the need for melee combat.

Agreed. In the future, why are people still using weapons that require very close-quarters when engaging in mortal combat with the deadliest creatures ever?  Only good answer I can think of is something like Frank Herbert's Holtzmann Shield tech

well at least its going to be inside a space ship or space station of somesorts, I hope this movie will be better than the TV series. I am not a fan of humans going medieval on the xenomorphs unless they were raised by the yautja (predators)

@Jonesy, agreed I’m all in regardless because I want the Alien franchise to continue no matter what. Can’t be worse than Resurrection I’m hoping… lol

The TV series is still in production yes! It started production before the film did. Expect updates to drop soon for that!

I won't expect it's going to be stellar as Alien 1-3. But as long as it's as good as Prometheus/Alien Covenant, and keeps the Alien Saga active, I am all in. 

and hope the TV series is still in production.
