"I had to think about what it was about the movie that inspired originally and would I be able to create that for an audience"
I think as they Summed it up.... we have seen the Xenomorph over and over it does-not have that SAME effect as the First Time you ever saw it (regardless of which Movie you saw First). I still think the Xenomorph had a LOT of MYSTERY to it all the way UNTIL we got ALIEN COVENANT.
If we could RE-WRITE the History and Prometheus had NEVER HAPPENED and we had a ALIEN V, 6 and 7!.... what can you REALLY do with each Movie if the Xenomorph is kept how it is.... it would have its Mystery but eventually you would have to EXPLORE this as something that has NOT been done... so the MYSTERY would eventually be Answered and in a way i dont think your going to Please everyone.
"What’s interesting to me is to try to remystify the franchise. The creature, the story, for a modern audience in the way that my 15-year-old won’t think is slow, is the requirement"
THIS ^^^ is a Concern..... in addition to the Time-Line and Setting i am Expecting this TV Series to SUCK! Its gonna be a Teen Friendly Pop-corn Fest!
Hope its not a Power Rangers vs ALIEN.......
The remystify the franchise to me sounds like its going to get us to Re-Think that the Xenomorph came from LV-223, Planet 4... Certainly 100% as FAR as David having anything to do with it....
Prior to the TV-show we had...
*The Space Jockey had Created it.
*The Space Jockey had Found it.
*The Engineers had Created it (maybe Accidentally)
*The Engineers had Found it (unlikely).
*David had Engineered it.
I think it could be a RISK if Noah Hawley wants to throw a Spanner into the Works to get us to Question that ALL of the Above are maybe Incorrect.
I think this has some Potential.... it would be INTERESTING to see HOW this DOES-NOT go and Ignore the Prequels.
I think this must mean that a Weyland-Yutani Ship has been to either.
*LV-426 (2125-2150) maybe.
*LV-223
*Origae-6
But there could be other Avenues to the Eggs, as we have a Time Line of between say 2122-2178, i just hope some Thought has gone into it rather than a LAZY ROUTE. Hopefully the Movie does-not go and cause a lot of Contradiction or Conflict..... which the TV Series is BOUND to Cause.
"Not everyone will agree with everything. Someone will agree about X and other one will agree about Y, and so on. Just look at the alien-franchise since at least Alien 3, no one can agree about everything if you look at the fan-base"
Well this has been Happening even since ALIENS as some was NOT a Fan of this and it was NOT say how RS would have continued. But ALIENS is a Solid Addition to the Franchise, but after that they all become Dis-Connected to a degree well Conflicting. With quite LAME Plot to Shoe-Horn in Ripley and the Xenomorph without giving any Consideration to Contradiction.
Lets hope that we do-not get any Ripley Connections in this Movie.
Indeed that is from Alien-Resurrection.
Regarding the Xenomorphs in the TV Series, it appears they could be closer to those from AVP (Antarctic Pyramid), personally i am NOT looking too much forwards to the TV Series due to its Time-Line a 2097-2102 ish Time-Line is a Mistake..... a 2180-2200 would NOT have been a Issue.
To me its just a Lazy attempt by Noah to Re-Write what Alien Covenant had set out to do.
Well thats good news. I was fearing it was going to be a reboot of some sorts
Ummmm, I said the Planet 4 Engineers were probably the peasants of Engineer society.
I would image that the Engineer God Emperor wouldn't dress like a peasant he would resemble more of a Lv-223 Engineer with some awesome biomechanical bling and armor like having a biomechanical crown growing out of his temples. Kind of like a Xenomorph Queen.
Yes, I actually thought about that possibility - that humanity is to be hosts for xenomorphs. Did you see some theory on Youtube where speaker notices that Covenant basically === Engineers ship with eggs?
In video it's said that Engineers were created artificially to spread the dying species genome, to help species evolve and exist. Dying species were precursors of modern day Xenomorph.
David merely reverse engineered stuff.
Interesting stuff. It means that there is almost mirrored situation. Engineers = artificial species that transport embryos of their masters, like Walter was overseeing Covenant and human colonists and human embryos.
About God Emperor... I think he was... Killed on Planet-4? The guy in a white robe pointing finger at a ship like "what the hell is this thing doing here?"
If they were humble enough for Emperor to bee a just a next guy, slightly bigger that the others, and not some kind of powerful entity.
-- reply got duplicated for some reason and I don't know how to delete it so here is placeholder text
Actually I think I like to think of the Engineers having a futuristic medieval society. It kind of fits them. Perhaps the Engineer God Emperor saw humanity as a failure either genetically or culturally? Alternatively, humanity was breed to be hosts for their xenomorphs.
With this I assume the soldiers are like the loyal Knights or Praetorians to their Emperor's will and carry out his orders without question. With military bases, especially weapons facilities are supposed to be hidden by design. Unless of coarse we consider an alternative were the Lv-223 Engineers are a rebel/rogue force of Engineers that wish to hurt the Emperor's favored creation?
I was just saying the cliché of the military branch being independent and counterproductive to its ruling class doesn't make any sense.
We can speculate which ways to sunday on Engineer culture and how they run their governments. We just don't know too much about them. Perhaps they are a heavily scientific/religious society where the military is the ruling caste or even the nobility while the planet 4 engineers are either their version of the Amish or their the peasants.
Perhaps the go further up in their society they genetically engineer themselves into a stronger form.
My problem with Covenant was because David was sole creator of the xenomorphs, it made the xenomorphs into a younger species. Which then limits the scope of how many worlds could have xenomorphs.
I personally preferred the Space Bomber origin where the Engineers/Space Jockey would bomb enemy planets with xenomorph eggs.
I suspect that not a civil war, but more like "each institution does its thing but the main principle - do not hurt the engineers, do not hurt themselves". Main ruling institution was sad, but OK with the fact that space jesus was killed. Or space jesus was a special "guest" from more aggressive part of engineers, he was sent to proof that humanity is "bad".
And typical arrogance, "I know how to do this better" thing happened.
Or, you are right and there was a civil war indeed. Engineers on LV-223 could be just simply bombed from the outside. As simple as that. Rogue mission was destroyed by their own kind, different, more official battalion or something.
I mean at this point I assume that engineers are just like humans. Angry, sad, scared, arrogant, etc.
The fact that location was not even checked/cleaned up/investigated by other engineers points me in direction of thinking it was either secret military operation, or they were destroyed.
Rewatching Prometheus again I learned about some new stuff and asked myself about it.
In my fan fiction there is problem with Planet-4. It seems that species that lived in the city on Planet-4 could be actually engineers. With the changing that "David destroyed their own kind, maybe senate, advisory circle, democratic leaders, etc" we can assume that engineers on ship that discovered massacre would be still angry. It doesn't change the rest of fan fiction much, though.
Well, and probably there should be several engineer ships arriving at Planet-4. Management-like one (Egg-like ship from the beginning of Prometheus) and several Juggernaut ships. One of them was sent to Origae-6.
Also re-reading forum topics and stuff I learn that there a LOT of speculation about different parts of the movies. If one would take speculation about murals, visual appearance of engineers on Planet 4, visual appearance of Shaw in Covenant, his pictures etc - my fan fiction can be too blunt.
But I'm glad I wrote it this way, because I took the main somewhat blockbuster-sque approach of those movies and wrote big parts where mysteries were uncovered in blatant way, like in Prometheus (hey space jockey is not a mystery it's blue joe) and Covenant (hey xenomorph is not a mystery it's androids creation). And this script could be filled with a variety details that can leave complementary mystery feelings.
I actually think a real third prequel could introduce us to such level of mystery uncovering nobody asked for (like in existing 2) that we may witness something like "Xenomorphs derived from ancient civilization Engineers are worshipping like Gods" or something like that.
Cool, sorry for the two day late response. I welcome more ALIEN based fanfictions here on this website and welcome to SCIFIED but I have one minor complaint regarding how militaries function.
Militaries often do not go against the orders of their leaders. Also were not sure how Engineer/Space Jockey/Mala'kak civilization work.
What if the Lv-223 Engineers are military scientists as in scientist soldiers? Now I'm not saying they're can't be rogue elements in their military but their entire military can't disloyal to their superiors otherwise the Engineers would be in a civil war.
But other than that cool fanfiction.
Ughhh why does everything have to be fast paced! Fast pacedness kills horror and tension!
I think now the mystery lies between the timeline of Convent (2104) to Alien (2122) and what really happened during that period. Now the third Alien prequel is scraped (sadly), maybe this would actually be a good thing since the Space Jockey in LV426 will always be mysteried.
I still love the David character though, and now his whereabouts is yet another mystery lol.
In defense of Scott, technically David did not create the Xenomorph as we know it, but a version of it. Imitation rather than invention. Xenomorph origins could still easily be explored without David's influence.
Unfortunately, Scott is one of the reasons why the mystery took some bruises in Covenant. There could be a way to bring back what made Alien good by introducing other things.
As for being fast-paced, I hope that it's not at a ridiculous speed. You got to spend some time at things so people know what goes on, at the same time you can't spend half an hour at a detail.
“Ridley Scott acts as executive producer on the series, so we expect his influence may keep his original intentions for the Xenomorph's origins intact.”
Oh f u c k, please don't let David be the creator of the monster. This makes me worried
Starting to get a little bit exited I have to admit
The JP velociraptors and the xenomorph were always the scariest creatures in movies for me as a kid! Very fun to see a mashup like this.
80's and 90's anime was the best era for Anime, I wished 20th Century Fox had out sourced to a Japanese anime production back in those decades.
Fuck man I'd kill for a series in this style.
That looks like a Resurrection-style xenomorph
Some parts are a little too raptor-like in the body portions for my liking since the human and dog spawned xenomorphs were more subtle with their host parent's traits but other than that its pretty cool looking
Really nice.

Kind of makes me wish there was an Alien animated anthology series like the Animatrix, and star wars visions.
If only we had an Official ALIEN anime but unfortunately Disney is in charge of the ALIEN franchise
I saw this on ALIEN day
cool, I want to see more bizzare xenomorph forms in a future alien movie
Kind of late with the cast reveal?
Well done, stick around. It's good to see some new people around here.
Keep up the good work, I would like to see more Alien fan films.
I'm sorry but I really hate how modern movies now have to retcon out films that aren't popular. This is reminding me of how the newer Resident Evil remakes are just retconning away their older games storylines that were crucial to the Resident Evil continuity until 2019.
"Xenomorph... the Ultimate Prey/Test for a Yautja? I would say YES..."
Actually, Humans are the ultimate Prey to the Yautja, not the xenomorphs.
The Paul W. S. Anderson movie got it wrong, just like how he gets the Resident Evil movies WRONG.
Xenomorphs can't reverse engineer their technology, Humans can.
Xenomorphs are for testing their unbloods/younglings, Humans are hunted by veteran Yautja.
Xenomorphs don't understand the values of an honorable fight, Humans do.
Point is the Weyland-Yutani Corporation would first study the xenomorphs which could take decades before moving on to weaponize the xenomorphs themselves.
also i don't believe the humans would drop wild xenomorphs on to settlements, I always believed they would try to make loyal servant out of the xenomorphs with some sort of experimental technology augmented to it.
Like how Umbrella in the Resident Evil Games were constantly researching and developing new techniques in creating BOWs (Bio-Organic Weapons) by either improving the t-virus or create a new virus which improved they way Umbrella made their BOWs.
Umbrella Chemical Corporation is inspired by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation.
I always believed the Queen was a later evolution, kind of like the xenomorphs had genetic version of Skynet and the Engineers/Space Jockey lost control over their creations which is probably why they went to drawing board or abandoned the xenomorphs at some point before the events of prometheus.
I was hoping Alien Resurrection would have been forgotten but nope. Its the movie that killed the stand-alone alien franchise prior to Prometheus. They could have expanded the franchise beyond Ripley but they squandered this with AR and its stupid plots.
But on the flip side if you make a bunch of movies with the ALIEN title and they are not connected then why bother with expanding the continuity? It would be like what happened to the later Japanese Godzilla movies
Well this is something that would SUIT like Disney.... the Comic Books basically are the same (they do-not all Directly Connect as Canon, but offer alternative Stories within the Universe of Alien that loosely Connect).
We see this with the BATMAN Movies... the Tim Burton are NOT like Canon to the Dark Knight Series, likewise the Batman vs Superman/Dawn of Justice and the latest Franchise.... THE BATMAN...
These are all Alternatives that do-not Connect to each other or Effect each other and are to be ENJOYED on each of their own Merits... maybe this is the WAY that Disney will Proceed with the ALIEN Franchise?
