Ok, I can't take it any more on this either...
the word is...
FART !!!
Parker says something to Dallas about the coffee being the only good thing on the ship than leans over and does a "one cheek sneak" only he keeps nothing secret !!!
And Ridley DELIBERATELY left that in...what a laugh he must have had with that, is still having with it I bet.
I read so many stories about Yaphet Koto causing mayhem on the set to the point that Ridley Scott had to trick him to get him to die in the film, he kept saying he was going beat the crap out of it {The Alien}. He hid in the wings to try to mess with Ridley but Ridley outsmarted him and found out where he would be hiding and had the Alien surprise attack him!!!
I Love Yaphet, I mean, man...who doesn't?

Hey Bud…sorry I had to go run some errands…so I couldn’t answer your trivia question. However, I just read your answer, and I am completely “flatugasted!” So I went and looked at that scene myself. You know what? I couldn’t see or hear what you’re talkin’ about. Sorry Bro…I’m just not getting that at all…after watching it…like ten times. What's up?

Well, that dick covered in a biomorphic tattoo didn't care. She said "It was a bit Chilli on his Willy". and I thought that was redickuless.

OK Neurion you are in fact wrong.
In the Theatrical release about 10 minutes into the film, the breakfast scene, Parker says as Dallas gets up to go see what Mother has to say, Parker says this...
"Can I finish my coffee?", than lifts up his right leg and ass cheek and lets one go...CLEARLY LETS ONE GO !!!
Go Look again !!!
It;s 100% in there and THAT MEANS Scott did it DELIBERATELY
LMFAO !!!
I LOVE IT BRO !!!
p.s. don't feel bad like i said it took me 30 times of watching it before it dawned on me what it was I was seeing and hearing and now it is clear as a bell every time i see it and hear it. Please do as I suggested, 1st sene at breakfast as it ends...
"Can I finish my coffee?", and then he lets one rip bro, even makes "The Face" while he does it !!!

wow Neurion your kidding right?
Let me see if I can get it clipped for us somehow and I will post it for you, perhaps It is in the directors cut only and not the theatrical release
Checking right now bro !!!
I promise you it's there!!!
but if it is only in the directors cut then he DID cut it from the theatrical release and that would mean I was wrong about him deliberately leaving it in.
like I said
Checking right now!!!

I clipped the scene down to a 4 minute clip and at exactly 1 minute and 4 seconds Parker very clearly breaks wind and makes the face, I look forward to receiving your official acknowledgment.

Look
I accept your apology and I am sorry too if my objecting to your comment causes you any grief what so ever, but lately and all of the sudden, and after giving myself over to these people and this board with all of my heart and love for this "little project" of Ridley's, I have been the victim of some really vicious and completely outlandish and inexplicable verbal attacks...and just as an example, I got home from work today came on the board and see about 15 posts in a thread stating that this film is 100% a Prequel...and not to argue other wise please...so I posted what Ridley Scott himself said about that very same subject and somewhere in there somebody says this, which I cannot believe for the life of me this was said after this person read what Ridley said...and which had absolutely nothing what so ever to do with the Marketing campaign for This film which at the time it was said had not even been discussed yet, let alone started!!!
it's a fuckin' prequel. anyone who says otherwise has bought Fox's
transparent marketing campaign, hook-line-and sinker. just sayin'.....
These are the kind of ILL Intended comments that while I agree may not be clearly Marked this is for you Spartacus are CLEARLY the acts of people liviing in complete denial...spreading false hoods all over this web site...and whats worse is they read the truth form the ONLY source that counts, realize I guess, that the truth hurts, and because it came from me that makes me a TARGET?
So Instead of responding, I ignore it, focus o Helping Neurion see something he may have missed entirely and which is an incredible discovery to have 33 years after seeing the film, was for me at least, and in the spirit of just having fun here and not taking this too seriously and then I see your post!!!
It just knocked the air completely out of my lungs !
I may argue things passionately and point out mistakes when I see them but I certainly have not deserved more than 9/10ths of the mean spirited things that have been hurled at me and frankly I am sick of it and made a decision to stand up for myself !!!
So, that said, I apologize too and am willing to start over and with a new understanding that we all need to be a little bit more respectable of each other, and that includes me, I am not perfect and make many mistakes as well, but in my case, I am the first to admit it whenever I discover I have. !!!

The Poem From The Film "A.I." in it's entirety !
Where dips the rocky highland
Of Sleuth Wood in the lake,
There lies a leafy island
Where flapping herons wake
The drowsy water rats;
There we've hid our faery vats,
Full of berrys
And of reddest stolen cherries.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand.
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.
Where the wave of moonlight glosses
The dim gray sands with light,
Far off by furthest Rosses
We foot it all the night,
Weaving olden dances
Mingling hands and mingling glances
Till the moon has taken flight;
To and fro we leap
And chase the frothy bubbles,
While the world is full of troubles
And anxious in its sleep.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.
Where the wandering water gushes
From the hills above Glen-Car,
In pools among the rushes
That scarce could bathe a star,
We seek for slumbering trout
And whispering in their ears
Give them unquiet dreams;
Leaning softly out
From ferns that drop their tears
Over the young streams.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.
Away with us he's going,
The solemn-eyed -
He'll hear no more the lowing
Of the calves on the warm hillside
Or the kettle on the hob
Sing peace into his breast,
Or see the brown mice bob
Round and round the oatmeal chest
For he comes the human child
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand
From a world more full of weeping than he can understand

Sometimes a bit of Vodak and a mentos will help in a cold world, not too much though. We are really just biological robots aren't we. Enslaved to this mud ball. It would be nice to be an old soul in a young metaphyiscal body for ever. Stephen Hawking doesn't believe in God so when it comes to the soul that's where Freudian slipped. Could U imagine knowing someone's soul after several thousand years partying on a tropical beach. You sure wouldn't need cloths anymore. Well I wouldn't. Oh and

ReplyManndroidPrometheus ForumSJ Face, Face Huggers and Humans...Jan 5, 2012
I didn't read every single post in the thread, so forgive me if this has been addressed, but I wanted to respond to the idea that there can be two methods of producing a xenomorph.
To me, the idea presented in the deleted scene of Alien - where Dallas and the others are being mutated into eggs - is a kind of dead-end street for the survival of a lifeform. This implies that, in order to reproduce, a creature must find prey - and make the distinction between using it for sustenance, or reproduction. There actually has been no indication in any other films that the aliens actually eat.
We do know, however, that these creatures - either by design or evolution - are highly adaptable, and can adopt and assimilate genetic information. It's entirely possible to assume that over a meager number or generations - or perhaps spontaneous mutation - that the xenomorphs, out of necessity (because of the lack of hosts) developed a caste system, thus producing a queen. Perhaps a pheremonic reaction to the lack of hosts to produce a large, self-sustaining population.
That being said, we can make room for both Scott's and Cameron's reproductive cycles; it may be that the DNA of the aliens are so volatile and chimeran that they genetically adapt to ensure survival. Sort of like how the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park - who were all bred to be female - were able to 'gender bend'.
ReplyGavinPrometheus ForumSJ Face, Face Huggers and Humans...Jan 5, 2012
@ Manndroid...
That "gender bend" you mention from JP was because they used amphibian DNA to fill in the gaps, and many species of amphibians have been known to change sex in a single sex environment.
You also mentioned that the two reproduction ideas from Alien and Aliens (respectively) may have been adopted by the Xenomorph to ensure their survival when there is a lack of hosts. Neither of these two ideas actual cater for that, as both result in the production of an egg incubating a Facehugger, and Facehuggers require hosts.
ReplyManndroidPrometheus ForumSJ Face, Face Huggers and Humans...Jan 5, 2012
@Snorkelbottom
I understand the scientific rationale behind the 'gender bend' in Jurassic Park - it's explained in the film. I wasn't intending it as a 1:1 comparison, but a plot device to bridge the two ideas.
As for the other parts of the theory - though both wouldn't be possible without hosts, there is still a clear parallel between the plot device in JP that I mentioned.
Since we've been lead to believe that the Aliens were created, the ability to coccoon its prey may have been its intended form of reproduction - essentially, a precision warfare weapon - in the end, you'll end up with a small, controlled populace of the count of your enemy, +1. It's area denial, but it also ensures that - when used in small number - the resulting infestation is manageable.
Now, introduce the 'ol "reach outpacing one's grasp" mechanic, and you could say that the Aliens evolved from their programmed intention - developing the ability to produce a queen, rapidly increasing its ability to subvert a population. You still have the problem of the host > egg ratio, granted, but it's a sign that the creatures are evolving in a way to try to break their intended boundaries. When their handlers return, they'll be dealing with a situation that could possibly turn around on them - they'll be looking for adults, and not hundreds, or thousands, of eggs, which have the potential of infesting them.
It's not the perfect method, yes, but it provides some room for the possibility of both cycles being valid. Especially if the creature were bioengineered, it'd only make sense that its own evolution would ricochet off in odd, possibly unsuccessful tangents until it finds a method that ensures its survival without the need for host organisms. Perhaps if the nest got large enough, it could use its own kind for hosts? Who knows.
ReplyGavinPrometheus ForumSJ Face, Face Huggers and Humans...Jan 5, 2012
Now that you clarified things I like what you propose...
Original propagation = Small scale infestation - 1 alien from two victims (1 host and 1 egg).
Alien develops the Queen, to produce the eggs instead...
New propagation = doubled scale infestation - 1 alien from 1 victim (1 host)
ReplyManndroidPrometheus ForumSJ Face, Face Huggers and Humans...Jan 5, 2012
Exactly. It's kind of like how, in the real world, we introduced a strain of asian Lady Bugs to control the pest population on our crops in North America. Now, they're the pests, wreaking havoc on an ecological system unprepared for them.
Except in this case, the Aliens are poised to wreak havoc on a galaxy unprepared for them.

ReplyMrBubblesPrometheus ForumThe Tall Guy?Jan 5, 2012
I can't see how the helmet would not fit the idea of the tall guy being a space jockey. We all know that re-designs happen quite frequently as far as prequels/sequels/reboots are concerned. I even think that there are a couple of things that go quiet well with the helmet theory:
1. The tall guy is obviously standing in the room where in "Alien" the jockey is found which would make it plausible for him to be the space jockey as seen in the original movie.
2. The way the tall guy's back is designed looks as if it was made for perfectly merging with the space jockey seat. Combine that with the "redesigned" helmet and thousands of years of decay et voilà; you get the jockey we all know.
3. It would make sense for the engineers to look humanoid. If they created mankind they would probably want to make it look like themselves; This would also explain why they built that huge stone face which doesn't show what mankind will evolve into but simply how the engineers look like.
4. The sequences in the trailer that show images of the engineers (assuming the tall guy is one of them) are only a few frames long. Anyone who isn't a fan probably won't even notice neither the helmet nor the tall guy so I don't think they are giving away too much as said in a post before. If at all they give the fans something to discuss.
ReplyReimerPrometheus ForumForbes Magazine's 'Prometheus' and the Science Fiction of CorporatismJan 5, 2012
Thanks for passing this item on, Spartacus. Ms Rosenberg may have a point about being tired of the simplistic "big, bad, omnipotent corporation" depictions, especially since we might expect WY to be further constrained the way big companies like BP are nowadays constrained by corporate ethics as a response to the potential hostility of an informed public/alienated consumers. Dunno how easily that would sit with getting the plot moving in a 2hr-max film though.
She also makes a good point about the speed with which players rise and fall, something that clearly didn't occur to the makers of AR, in which we hear that WalMart is still around 300-400 years from now (and whose United Systems Military looks and sounds remarkably like an outpost of late 20th C US military power as viewed through PC Hollywood goggles).
