yeah the way this forum works is whack! threads with new posts should move to the top, and it should show who the most recent poster is as well as who started it. that way it's easy to keep up in chronological order.

Remember this? where do we think this fits in to everything? Looks to me like the furniture moves around in the spacejockey's world

Herk MondoPrometheus ForumSJ Ship in Prometheus ≠ SJ Ship in ALIEN
Guys RHunter is more or less bang on! I've recently explained-away some of the reason for the internal differences in these 2 SJ vessels (be them one in the same or otherwise) - the interior walls seen in Alien (I'm positive!) are a result of the xenomorph infestation in it as once the xenos have 'moved in' they begin to to convert it to their Hive or habitat and this is done by using the body parts of other sacrificed xenos - notice the 'columns' of slightly differing 'cigar-shaped' items in the 'construction' of the wall surface - im fairly certain these are the upper most part of a xeno head/scull viewed from underneath. A long time ago I read somewhere about the aliens doing this using secretions and bodyparts, etc off hand Im struggling to remember what the source was. But we actually see the one in Alien beginning to do something like this aboard the Narssisus (spelling - I'm in the hoof at the mo) whilst Ripley is hiding and watching whilst changing into her space suit.

With this animation, and the thought of the ship rotating.. then hitting the ground with the horns first.. would tell us that there are 2 Space Jockey ships..

Gang, just a little daft observation, but zooming-in on the animated gig there you can see that the explosion (or collision?) happens to the far side of the far side of our favourite vessel, to the far side of the opposite 'prong'. My point being that this is the same side of the vessel that we (to date, going back to Alien) have NEVER seen anything of in any scene or image (a 'far side of the moon' situation if you will). In other words - our Mr Ridley can do anything he likes with that far side of the ship as none of us have ever seen the ship from that side. Even in the trailer when we see it sat upright we still aren't shown that same far side. So we can't tell if in that upright scene if it has been damaged yet, will be damaged at all or how bad any damage may be. Also making it hard for us to determine if it's upright parked position is gained after or even before the mid-air incident or the 'rolling(?)' incident. Food for thought there gang.

In one shot of the ship just as it reaches the ground, you can see Rapace running, and in the background, you can clearly see one horn in the distance, striking the ground just before the other one, much nearer Rapace does. Even though it's a very brief shot, if you pause the video at 1080p, it's possible to make out some of the details on the horn which strikes first. We don't see it in the trailer, but I'm guessing that the ship continues that rolling movement along the ground like a gigantic wheel, gradually slowing until its' horns are upright, at which point it stops...........in the shot of Rapace staring at it.

BTW, I'm not sure the expanding belly is even Rapace at all. As someone on IMDB pointed out, the face if the woman on the examining table (of which we got a clear shot in the recent first teaser teaser) doesn't look like Noomi...so, possibly another character altogether.

danraldPrometheus ForumWhere does Shaw get blown away to?
There is a thread here on the "Dark Shadow" that occurs when the vehicles are racing back to the ship.. it's noticed that a "Dark Shadow" is on the left.. If the scene of Shaw outside of the garage is the first event.. then the second event would be here being swept away.. The dark shadow would explain the lighting in the scene changing to darkness...

GoldenFleecePrometheus ForumSpace Jockeys vs Engineers
Hey first post :-). I agree with snorkel. Lets just say the head on the table is a helmet for the big guy. It would be very ineffective, in fact he wouldn't be able to see out of it very well. Small holes to see from would result in tunnel vision. Not only that, the big guy seems to have the same skull proportions as ours, however the "helmet" on the table has the visual holes very near the side of a very wide skull - they are too far apart. It could actually be a helmet as Scott has said, but not for the big guy, for something else.

I hate the whole suit helmet crap but the bottom line is Scott has already clearly stated it is a suit so chances are the big dude is the space jockey who gets into the suit. Best we can hope is the suit is some symbiotic life form that melds with the jockey.

GehirnPrometheus ForumNew Theron Comment is a "Doozie".
I wouldn't read too much into contradictions between Theron and Scott. It sounded like Scott was explicitly referring to the big creature in the original Alien when he ruled out the Xenomorph returning. But the creature itself was based on the idea that it assumes the form of the host and its inpregnator (something Scott mentioned happens in nature). Theron is likely suggesting the process is the same (ie. yay chestbursters) but I think it's going to be something very different popping out this time...

My biggest issue with the Alien: Harvest script is the complete disregard to the English language throughout. I could not get more than a few pages in before I had it with the typos, incorrect spelling and horrible grammatical errors. I knew right from the outset that this was not written by a professional scriptwriter.

Now this is really interesting, but I think it’s dubious when it comes to an important aspect: do the eggs and the Xenomorph incorporate SJ’s DNA? From RS’s statements, I see 2 (apparently mutually exclusive) alternatives - let’s see if I can explain my doubts. #1: RS: “one of the eggs had been disturbed and a creature had got out and attacked the rest of the crew”. Then the eggs were bioengineered by the SJ, using whatever DNA - bear in mind: they don’t have to incorporate SJ’s DNA. One of them hatches, kills the pilot SJ and the others. SJ’s chest-bursting generates a creature that we never actually get to see in Alien. The Xenomorph that we know incorporates Human DNA, but doesn’t have to have SJ’s DNA. #2: RS: “the alien… had the characteristics of SJ on the derelict and Kane”. Then some kind of bioformer or proto-alien was engineered by the SJ. It gets loose inside the derelict and impregnates the SJ. A creature chest-bursts and somehow generates the eggs (perhaps cocooning the rest of the SJ crew, although that would have to be a big crew). Then the Xenomorph that we know does incorporate SJ’s DNA (as well as Human DNA). Do you agree that there’s a contradiction in these statements? Any way to conciliate them? Any thoughts?

Robotop - George Lucas wrote the full star wars saga in the late sixies and made the incredible decision not to air them until the technology existed to visually create exactly what he wanted. The last movie produced in 2008 I believe was written in 1968. The full saga generated something in the region of $5 billion. Not bad I'd say.

Baldas this is one of the great mysteries I can't wait to be cleared up. I reckon the jockeys put the eggs in the ships hold but there is either an accident and one gets loose, or there is a stowaway (Shaw or Vickers) who set off an egg.

I think we may have to deal with something that is both great and both a cancer ...we can have a "green jelly" or whateved that absorb the dna of whatever it come in contact to allow himself to resist to some exterior conditions ... example ..green jelly plus monkey = men example green jelly plus whatever plus man = Xenomorph example ..green jelly plus david = biomechanoid example .. green jelly plus some creatures we dont know = face huggers

Micro changes in air density, that was Lucas' version. In reality, he made it up as he went along (hence why the prequels had no story and no continuity with the originals). Check out the link below for what actually happened. Frantz, yes, the "life cycle" hinted at in Prom thus far is very intriguing! I wonder if it could be: Goop + Crew = Original Gigeresque/Lovecraftian Monstrosities Goop + Engineer (or David) = Proto-Alien? Time will tell, but unfortunately the film won't be able to include every possible scenario (unlike our speculation)! :P

Good post Spartacus. I like it. Very plausible. The Alien is there but we can't recognise it. Brilliant. This is the sort of stuff we need to keep the debates going. I've been asking the question - What is the first every xeno? ... Is it adult or egg or spore or what? No definitive answers yet. And what will it look like if it inevitably takes on the characteristics of it's host. The possibility of the crew mutating into adult xenos is a plausible theory I guess.

I can kinda see it, but it looks like an untextured 3d model to me - something serpentine entering black water from right to left before splashing its tail at the end. There is also a link to the original, leaked trailer found in the same thread Theusprom found this at, heres the link... Leaked Trailer Although I can't see this serpent in this trailer I can see something coming out of something really fast, and "Shaws" belly suddenly inflating.

Thanks for the GIF upload Theusprom. I was wondering about that bit from the leaked trailer with the 'slithery eel'. I noticed people are talking about the word Xeno being used BUT was it not put into some previous post about the word Xeno only used by James Cameron and NOT Ridley Scott and that nothing should by named Xeno in or for Prometheus. And the Alien only looked the way it did because it took on the characteristics of the Jockey and Kane. So whatever we see in Prometheus is what it originally looks like and not a Xeno. What do others think? Apologies if some of these questions have been touched on. There are so many disscussions about everything I get lost ha. But keep up the great imaginations guys.

I learned that the film’s setting is, in part, a planet that has been terraformed to create the perfect environment in which a particular bioweapon would prosper. We also know that Xeno's can swim. This is not what I thought this was going to be about initially. I do not think that the focus of this film is going to be Mankinds search for answers, I think that mission gets all messed up once they discover The Engineer's are Terraforming a planet in order to create the perfect Bio-Weapon, it might even be where they discover the ampules themselves. This is going to be about a war being started in order to stop the Engineers from being succesful. Just another theory. however, everything in this theory fits with that thing right there being a XenoMorph !!! IMO, this is the Weapon, the XenoMorphs, They're being "Harvested" as well by the Engineer's!!! In any case, fantastic post man, thank you. That thing is so cool!

I can't make anything out myself. I can't even find this part in the full leaked trailer link posted above. I agree that this is probably an untextered image that had not undergone any post processing yet. The SJ ship where it's toppling over looks untextered as well. I can't believe how poor the quality is. The guy who filmed it must have had a 5-6 year old cell phone. My cell phone is nothing speacial and I can record movies in 720P, hehe.
