@Blackwinter-witch

Well there is no better feeling, I believe, then setting yourself free. I see no regrets in taking on new projects.

This has broken you or taken a part of something now that cannot easily be replaced. Partly this is do to the nature and effect of what time does to all of us. Partly it is do to you reaching another realization in what is best for you.

What ever the case may be there is a very wise saying in Buddhism.

You must first empty your cup to receive more.

Try on this new role in your life and see what may grow into the new space.

For me the Alien universe has had its moments of profound reward as well as its regrets. I have chased this monster as well to the limits of perception.....and no long want or desire it's secrets.

There is something very liberating in choosing a new mysterious road...walking through that door you have never gone through before...taking those first steps into a new room full of strangers...figuring out a new undiscovered path.

I sincerely hope you never look back with out one single regret and find a more fulfilling inner peace.

@BlackAnt

I agree that you would Expect that David would Comply with the Companies Interests and THIS was more of the Plot with Alien Engineers.  However the David with regards to Prometheus seemed to be a Sentient Being and NOW that his Master has Passed Away he had become FREE to do what he Pleases and so its Likely his Programing only went as FAR as to Serve Peter Weylands Needs/Agenda.

I think the Destruction of the Engineers came down to Davids will to SURVIVE and he Likely saw that the Chances of HIM and Dr Shaw surviving a Encounter with the Engineers would be UNLIKELY.

I agree that with Prometheus it Expanded the Franchise to the Possibility to see Numerous Worlds/Races that MAYBE we wont ever see NOW :(

"It was an admirable punt to try and say something fresh within a cooked franchise"

I Totally Agree...  i think the Franchise will just get back to Basics Now and i think we could see the Beast Become Cooked again and again.. in a Marvel/Disney Fashion but if its what makes the MONEY but the Franchise could Spiral to be similar to Starship Troopers.

It was a Brave and Bold decision to go for the KIND of Plots that Prometheus Evolved from.

"Why did they change it so David made it"

I think because from Prometheus they decided to CARRY the Themes about Sub-Creation and Rebellion and the HUBRIS of Creating something that is Intelligent and Sentient.

And so with the Xenomorph as a Creation of David then this becomes the ULTIMATE HUBRIS...  If the Engineers had-not Created us they would NOT have had US go and CREATE our own Creation in our Image (David) who then would NOT have Destroyed the Engineers World and then Created/Unleashed the Xenomorph in the Galaxy.

They could have KEPT with those THEMES by having David go and Create something Different but Similar say the ULTRAMORPH...  Eventually this is LOST and LV-223 but the Company Discovers that something is on LV-426 that is related to what David had Created... This leads to Special Order 937

". The novelization of Alien: Covenant says that David found the xenomorph and simply modified them"

I would Disagree with this, having looked at the Drafts prior to SHOOTING then these SUPPORT what we saw in the MOVIE.  I would assume that ADF had added some things to the Novel that he Personally Felt was Right.

However someone at FOX would have had to Read and then GIVE the Final Approval of the Novel and they DID-NOT seem to ask him to Change his Novel so it Fitted with the Movie.

I think the Engineers would be VERY STUPID to go and Store some Eggs on their Home-world.... Unless they had a DEAD ONE in some kind of ZOO.  And so with the Black Goo then David could have Extracted the DNA to Re-Create it.

But if you look at Davids Notes and his Work-shop it shows that the Xenomorph comes from a AMALGAMATION of Various Organisms combined with the Neomorph and Black Goo.

They could CHANGE it if we got a Continuation and have David give some Dialog to say the Engineers had Experimented with a Organism they Discovered, trying to Harness its Traits to Engineer the Perfect Servants, these Rebelled and Further Engineered their Own Creation from these Experiments to USE on Mankind.

He then could STATE that the Engineers had taken something that was PERFECT but could not be CONTROLLED and tried to Hybridize Versions they could Control.

He then says HOWEVER... they could NOT see the Potential Perfection in the Original Organism they Discovered, they attempted to CHANGE so much of it so they could call it their OWN... THEN we have that DAVID could see the Perfection and he has attempted to Re-Create the Original Beast and he aims to Create a Version that he can CONTROL instead of the Diluted Attempts the Engineers had been trying to Create.

Going to the Original Idea its a case of WHAT is Original? As things CHANGE all the Time, it does seem that a LOT of the PLOT for a Sequel to Prometheus would have involved seeing David attempt to CREATE some Horror.

But we would ONLY know the FULL Extend of this Idea if we have a Number of Drafts turn up from 2013-2014

But it seems the NOTION that he Created the Xenomorph only came about during the 2nd Half of 2015, it seemed between 2013-2014 then we would have seen David play his HAND at Creation but it would NOT have been the Xenomorph.

Blackwinter-witch It's good to hear you will continue and the links you provided make it easy to view (maybe someone could stickie it). Whatever you write about will be good if you write for yourself first. If you don't like it, it doesn't seem reasonable to expect others would like it. "Tibi ipsi dic vere."

I would like to see you stick around at your own comfort level. That's what most of us do.

You are in the asset column around here so your absence is felt after a while.

((I already posted on your other thread, but i'll post here too so people can see it, because for some reason people think Ridley Scott is the creator.))

Ridley Scott didn't write or create this show. He only directed a couple of episodes and added some stylistic choices/designs, everything else was Aaron Guzikowski.

Here is an article about how he came to work with Ridley Scott on the project: Raised By Wolves creator wants to know what will "Lead us out of the darkness"

'Speaking of sci-fi characters and fear, you get the master of that — Ridley Scott — to open the first two episodes of your show. How did that come about?

I’d written the script and I’d brought it into his production company, Scott Free. I didn’t imagine he was going to direct it, just that they would produce it. But he read it and he responded to it — apparently he started drawing the storyboards immediately afterward, which was incredible.

When I heard that on the phone I was like, “Holy s***! That’s amazing, is he really going to do it?” I still didn't really believe it. But before you know it, we were in South Africa shooting. It was amazing, as soon as he got on board it started rolling along like a freight train. He was just having a great time, inspired to tell this story.

Here is another great interview with Aaron Guzikowski. He talks about what inspired him to create the show, the themes he chose to use, etc.

@Blackwinter-witch

You refer in your OP to physical challenges. How you overcome those to "write" is not something I have any experience of so I will make observations which are more generic.

In the end, any creative act has to be to satisfy ourselves. If we then find people who enjoy what we create it is a bonus. Naturally, if we rely on it financially to survive I suspect in many cases that come as it takes over as our main income driver. It will not begin as such.

However, if we write within a previously copywritten area it can only be for the love of the subject. There is no income and the only joy is that others will read it who enjoy the copywritten area in question.

I would suspect that most people find that if they enjoy writing say within a franchise environment eventually they stop and begin writing original stories. The joy is in storytelling not storytelling about a particular subject.

Only you know how good you are and whether that talent would better be directed at something fresh and original.

When I wrote my first draft of what is now called Prometheus: The Furious Gods it was to give back meaning to the movie. It was an act of an obsessive hobbyist. However, unconsciously once I had reached the original goal I changed tack and began to do much more with the story. I realised writing a story was far more important than making the movie right for me or answering what the material in the cylinder as compared to the bowl was etc. The important element became whether the characters spoke with authenticity, the landscapes came alive and whether the story made you curious to carry on. As well as the World Building.

I found from second draft onwards my style of writing is essentially counter-intuitive. I place my characters in familiar settings but the story they are in is asymmetrical. Just one example the questing innocent person of faith is the antagonist. So writing F.G. was merely a platform for me to begin writing original works. Several of my friends have been kind enough to say. "You have done two stories which are attached now get on with your own unique ones."

So I would ask you to think about what you really want to do write about the franchise or just write.

I would suggest you will find the latter liberating.

As far as being frustrated by the reaction to your work remember only 21 people are online as I write this, two years ago it was 200. That tells its only story.

I also think when you place your work on a particular medium it tells you as much about the nature and marketability of that medium as your own work.

I am experimenting with Wattpad as a writing tool and am going to offer to Furious Gods in a serial rollout and see if it gains momentum there.

My biggest success is Baidu the Chinese Search Engine. I have a sense that Chinese readers though in small numbers are beginning to pass it around. To begin with, I thought it was just one of curiosity but it has gone on to long and is too repetitive.

I also think an active Blog on subjects works. I have 200 views a month on my Music Blog which I may only post to every three or four months with a review. After a time things have there own momentum.

What I would say though is ALIEN produces a ceiling of interest. I know with P: FG in conversation it has garnered interest from some but as soon as people know it shares DNA with Alien its a barrier.

I hope that is not obtrusive and I wish you well with whatever you decide to do.

I would also like to say, because I think it needs addressing; Ridley Scott didn't create "Raised by Wolves", Aaron Guzikowski did.

Don't get me wrong, I love Ridley Scott, but it seems like his name is overshadowing the actual creator's and I really feel like Aaron Guzikowski should be given the credit he deserves.

Here is a nice article about how he came to work with Ridley Scott on the project:  Raised By Wolves creator wants to know what will "Lead us out of the darkness"

My point is, apart from some stylistic choices and directing a couple episodes Ridley Scott isn't that involved. The themes in 'Raised by Wolves' most certainly do not come from him, they come from Aaron.

Someday I hope to be able to retain the services of a decent artist and do things up maybe as a Graphic Novel or at least add some illustrations to the stories. That's been a 'want to do' for a long, long time.

Fate of Alien boss's new sci-fi show with Vikings star revealed

It has been picked up for a second season.

Ridley Scott's sci-fi series Raised by Wolves has been picked up for a second season by HBO Max.

The show has been a hit for the streaming service since it premiered earlier this month, so announcing another 10-episode series will no doubt please fans.

Raised by Wolves, which stars Vikings' Travis Fimmel, follows two androids called Mother (Splitting Up Together's Amanda Collin) and Father (Jamestown's Abubakar Salim) who care for a group of human children, while also fending off other killer robots.

raised by wolves, amanda collinHBO

Ridley Scott said in a statement (via The Wrap): "Being a dyed-in-the-wool advertising man, I was knocked out by the extraordinary campaign done by HBO Max marketing, which conveyed the ambitious storyline in such a provocative and tactile manner, and deftly positioned our first season of Raised by Wolves as a 'must watch' show.

"It must have been a notable challenge to selectively plumb the riches In Aaron's [Guzikowski, writer] storylines. We were even happier that audiences have responded so enthusiastically."

The Alien: Covenant director confirmed the team are already developing storylines for the second season and they're looking promising.

"We are already deep into the 'layers' of season 2, as Aaron has begun to shape what we think will be another brilliant season to inspire the imagination."

BWW: I like your way of writing. One thing that was a good example of writing was this:

"One common detail was shared among them all; Faces frozen in absolute terror."

It makes me wonder what it was that caused it. This could go into many directions but as with the alien-movies not everything got to be explained. Thanks for letting me know about it.

In Space, No One Can Hear You Scream.

In space, there is no safe place.

Below is an excerpt from the Sequel

START QUOTE**************

On the hangar deck, assorted drones meant for handling large, heavy and bulky objects brought the escape pods and lifeboat aboard. The escape pods weren’t a challenge, but the lifeboat required cooperation of several of the largest units and the ceiling-mounted servicing crane.

Smythe conducted an appraisal of each of the escape pods, and upon seeing the condition of some of them, immediately contacted the bridge.

“Sin, we have a significant problem.” Smythe said, drawing his sidearm whilst keeping a careful and watchful eye on the open space outside the open hangar bay doors, his vision examining the edges of the opening as well over and over while he quickly went to the controls that closed the reinforced and armored doors.

Less than a minute later, the doors leading into the rest of the ship opened, revealing two suited figures in the transfer airlock. They moved out quickly, moving apart from each other yet staying cloe enough to cover and aid each other if need-be while they went to Smythe.

“You mentioned trouble?” Selinaehra inquired, rifle up, sweeping across the hangar bay’s interior while Katherine did the same with her carbine while the hangar doors closed and sealed.

“I did indeed.” Smythe replied, relaxing a little with the arrival of backup, but still looking and sounding shaken through his helmet’s faceplate and over the comms.

Sonuvabitch…” Came Sin’s voice over the comms as he reacted to what the suit-cam feeds showed him on the bridge’s monitors.

Smythe, Selinaehra and Katherine moved among the lined-up escape pods, examining them carefully, and with some respect for the deceased therein.

The sleekly-rounded coffin-shaped pods had all been pried open by sheer brute force, from the outside.

Within them, in varying conditions, were the corpses of the unfortunate occupants for whom the life-saving escape pods had become death-traps. One common detail was shared among them all; Faces frozen in absolute terror.

END QUOTE***********

Thank-you ((HUG))

It's a 'hardware' issue...physical disruption of areas of the brain. The cause of it is something progressive that there's just no way to treat/cure/fix...and it is Mortal.
There's other symptoms; shaking hands, tremors, etc.. The way it disrupts my memory/personality I was warned about...but experiencing it, is something I wish NO one ever has to go through.

I'm not going to come out and say it, but I think you can get the gist of what I am speaking of.

I appreciate the different stories about how people got into the franchise, what they like and don’t like. When someone's a writer I can look at what they write about and honestly I find it interesting how people can bring up different themes and have their own ideas about the franchise.

Life can be difficult sometimes, it’s a human thing. We all deal with it in different ways. About you not being able to remember writing those posts I'm not a psychologist but you were probably under a lot of stress. Maybe you could try to get some help for that if needed.

Get back here if you want to and if you need to take a break then do so. I appreciate that we all have our own story with the franchise, you bring your perspective which is fine. Stay around and contribute to this board if you want.

To be blunt...

I will really miss you folks, the fandom...you're all such great people and I really enjoyed my time here because all of you made it good and fun and special to me.

But there's been some things happening in my life, and I guess I just can't take the strain anymore...

This is NOT a 'suicide' thing....

It's an 'I'm losing the war' thing, and as it progresses it's affecting my personality, making me into someone 'not myself', I'm becoming something of a monster and I don't want to be around people I love, respect and call Friends...to protect you from what's happening to me.

I'm not giving any details, but everything that has a Beginning, has an Ending.

Mine is coming.

I am so sorry for what I've said the past few days...I don't remember writing those posts, that's an example of how this is affecting me and it's likely to get worse as this overwhelms me.

It's frightening, not being able to rely on being who you are and I don't want to be like this, but there's nothing that can be done, no medications, no surgery...nothing.
It's like being Mrs. Jekyll and Hyde...and Mrs, Hyde comes out unpredictably and I hate it so much....especially because there's nothing I can do to stop it.

I love you all, I really do, for having made my time here fun and special and feeling like 'Home'. ((HUG)) <3

I'm going to take your words of encouragement and support and remain here if you will continue to have me here.

If you all think it best that I leave, I can and will accept that decision--and I will understand it.

Again, I am sorry for what's been going on with me lately, for the posts that I made, and if I hurt any of you please accept my sincerest and most regretful apologies.

SuperAlien: It's not about being a forum-police, it's about having different opinions. I haven't seen anyone in this thread telling people what to think, people don't need to agree with everyone about everything. If people think that RBW is crap then they should be allowed to say so. I like the idea of the Xeno as the perfection of the biological weapons that the Engineers had. It makes it more interesting than it being a result of a weird robot. ADF’s novel is something that I haven’t read but it seems to be better than the movie. Have a book that was better than the movie wouldn’t be difficult since AC wasn’t that good really. As far as upsetting the fans of David, if he would have been better written and executed and if it wouldn’t have been all about him then there wouldn’t be the complaints about that part, that’s my guess.

I don’t say that I support RBW because I think that it seems boring but I like things to be as correct as possible. When I say that there are four threads about it I say it to be as factual as possible, I don’t say that to say that I support it. RBW still seems to be really boring even though it might look good.

Well, one thing is for sure - it was not the original plan. The novelization of Alien: Covenant says that David found the xenomorph and simply modified them. Moreover, further in the text, the xenomorph is described as the crown of the Engineer's biological weapon.

And as we know, there are two nuances in the production of films and novelizations:

1) Novelizations are written from drafts ready for filming; before filming.

2) During filming, the film is constantly being changed, what may be unplanned and not very successful from a forward-looking point of view.

Hence the difference between a book and a film. And reading the book, you can understand the original intent of the story.

There is two major difference:

1) David did not create the Alien.

2) David died (or stayed) on Planet 4.

P.S. I know this might upset some fans of David and his experiments. But that was the original idea. And, btw, we still don't know who survived in the film - David or Walter.

>>>I am done with the ALIEN franchise.

"I'm done with X" - the most unreliable phrase in my life. No one I know has ever kept a promise like that for more than a couple of months. You shouldn't even give such vows. Especially if you grew up with Alien and love it. The Alien is already a part of your DNA, your nature. And two minor topics about RbW won't change that. I've been sitting here for over 3 years now and drank a whole toxic bucket about xenomorph and Filthy Alien Fans©. And I'm still here.

>>>I can not and will not be part of a forum glorifying shit like 'raised by wolves'.

Come on - there are only two topics about it. Be positive and take a different perspective - perhaps the fact that Ridley "released" his ideas in RbW will allow us to get a more classic Alien film next time!

Not sure if I replied to something like this (maybe I did, maybe I didn't) in another thread but here it goes. I think that it's difficult to make yourself known as a writer even if you post your things at a message board for people with the same interest. Maybe there are much alien-things out so you go to have something special (in the eyes of the companies, not the fans) for them to release it, that's not to say that your work is bad.

I’ll be blunt, screw Raised By Wolves, android crap.

“... it comes off like it was written by a bunch of stoned 3rd graders.”

LMAO! Love that insult

Scott is more famous so even if your ideas seem better, it is what it is. I don’t like his ideas and I bet that you would do a better work story-wise. Don’t forget that resources and money can get you far even if the product stinks, that seems to be the thing with RBW. I’m also disappointed with how the alien franchise has developed, so we share that opinion.

I don't trust Scott or Disney, his ideas about David F that shit. Not interested in Alien 5 either, it seems like a repeat.

I hope that you come back here some day so you can participate in the discussions, if you want to. Everyone might not agree with each-other but I can honestly say that I really like the different perspectives that people have and to me your perspectives are welcome too.

BD

"Either make the Engineers its creators or someone above the Engineer that made the Xeno"

That would have been better about the Engineers as the creators of the Xeno. Why did they change it so David made it? Was it just a snap judgement that Ridley did meaning that he went with his feeling of what he was interested in rather than to tell a good story? Sometimes in AC that is what it seems like with the AI thing that he is interested in. Unfortunately when I think about Ridley and Alien it seems that a story in Alien is one thing and a robot-story is another but he mixes them and it doesn’t work because it is too much about the robot/android side.

Rebooting the Covenant, I might not be much of a writer to write it in detail but I know what I would like to see. I would like to see the Engineer planet, to see their society with religion, military Engineers, and their weapons, have their buildings being Gothic or maybe bio-mechanical. As far as I know there was bad feelings between Fox and Giger so maybe bio-mechanical isn’t possible that is why my idea was to have it Gothic. I still support that the Engineers or someone above them did it, the main thing shouldn't be an aliens 2 with 200 Xenos because it should be something else. Keep them in the shadows, and don't have too many of them. The Xeno was poorly handled in AC even though the crane-scene was good but it was too short. Not too say that we just need action but much of the movie was too slow.

I actually like the idea of exploring other planets, it could be tied to global warming. That is an issue that’s more interesting than AI. Raised By Wolves but is about the religion part. Maybe Shaw's search would be about the state of the planet combined with her curiosity. She could have been in it if she was better written, like The Crossing. What if they don’t get to their home-world but somewhere where the Engineers have had a hand in building things? Who’s to say that they are only on Planet 4? Perhaps another company had also thought about it so they send people there but for a different purpose (you need human characters), don't ask why.

Do I have to have David in it? Not sure what to do with him, I would probably have him in some scenes but not too much. Maybe he could be scary to some people but that he is just there to help, like Bishop but less screen-time. I would have him developing in a different way compared to AC if he would be in it at all which I am not a fan of.

If Shaw would be in it, she would be more like in The Crossing. She did well in that short clip. Have her better written if she would get a fairly decent amount of screen-time. Honestly I haven’t seen her in a lot, some have been good and some of it have been meh. Give her a decent script and she would probably do better.

Maybe she could find a sort of weapons facility where the Engineers make monsters to use as bio-weapons. That would probably make her scared at least if she wouldn’t be like in the beginning of Prometheus. She would probably like to get the answers to why we were created "I want to go where they came from”, something like that. Eventually we don’t need to know exactly why they wanted to destroy us but look at the world and you can make a guess.

My point is that she would get to know some about it but not all because 1. everything don’t need to be explained 2. sometimes you don’t get all the answers 3. sometimes you don’t get any. A movie that explains A B C and D is boring, you might just get the explanation to A and B and that is fine. It depends on what you keep a secret, what the answers are, and how you answer it.

You could have Engineers that has decided to not kill humanity, they might just let them be even though they are not pleased with our way. They are like a person that is not satisfied with what ever but instead of doing something sits in his room and is grouchy. Looking at humanity it would surprise me if the Engineers would like them at all, they might have different ways to look at what should or shouldn't be done that is what’s important here.

What’s worse: someone that treats you like you don’t exist, or someone that yells at you? Neither of those are pleasant and that’s the situation here. It is like the question: what would God do if it created humans but started to dislike us. Maybe they would give Shaw her answers at least in part and then take her back to the ship and be like “leave us alone (you are annoying and we have a party to attend)”. :D You wrote something about changing Shaw’s faith, that could be a way.

"She could maybe then decided its time to KILL this Wanna be Gods ;)"

I think that they would want to die by her just being there acting annoying. ;)

About the architecture yeah but it should have been more alien so to speak and more impressive. You mentioned ancient but I think that they could still be from a long time ago because maybe humans did buildings that were alright (they built the pyramids) so something better could have been used for the Engineers but I get your point. I would have liked to see a bit of how the cathedral looked inside. Different official buildings could have different designs depending on how important they find them to be. For example a place where you don’t go that much would probably look different compared to one of maybe religious worship where you go maybe different days of the week or what ever the Engineers would do. "The Cathedral in Alien Covenant was COLOSSAL"

It makes sense since Scott is interested in religious things. As far as I know it just appeared for a bit so I didn’t take in how it looked. If you have been in a church you probably know that sometimes they have paintings in there, imagine how the engineers versions would look like. Since they are taller I guess that the buildings would be bigger compared to humanity's. Maybe they are into sacrificing things, if so it is interesting to imagine what it would be. Perhaps the city was more modern because they wanted to connect to their ancient gods in their church like some sort of mystic past. Hopefully I don’t talk gibberish here.

"I think a Disappointment for Fans and this applies to Prometheus too is they would have Expected the WORLD of the Space Jockey to look VERY much like a HR Giger Bio-Mechanical Aesthetic."

That was and still is my reaction, it wasn’t too impressive to be honest. I understand your explanation for it but I still think that it disappointing, esthetically speaking. You don’t need to use bio-mechanical things in the movie. I would have used a Gothic style, I like that kind of look. A lot of the action could have taken place during the dark so combine Gothic buildings with the dark and you get something for an alien-movie.

"So when we was going to Prometheus 2 if these Engineers are NOT the GODS but a Sub-Creation and so like ANGELS if you would then you COULD introduce a Hierarchy above them that are 10-15ft Tall"

Maybe, you got to make it work though. What if the angels that you mention are more like monsters even though that is not what the Engineers view them as? I would maybe make them like some monster from Lord of The Ring but with an alien twist. Some would find it lame but you can get inspiration from many things.

I will now answer some of the things that were meant for Michelle but I found them to be interesting. You don't need to reply to them if you don't want since they really weren't meant for me.

"… a LOT of Fans were ONLY really interested in seeing the Engineers as Aggressive SOB's… So there are Many Ways they could have given us a Story that is NOT TIED down to being about LV-426 and Monsters.”

People have different opinions, I understand if some would like them to be like aggressive body-builders but I think that many would like to see more what they were about. To expect people to just be interested in that side of them could be to underestimate the interest that could be. Maybe people would see the aggressive ones that you called them but I also think that there were also an interest in seeing the culture and those kind of things. One thing is that if you sort of replace the monster with the Engineers you got to make them scary. If they would succeed with the Engineers would depend on writing and directing. Eventually it could be done but they got to find a way to make it work.

A lot of the action could have taken place during the dark so combine Gothic buildings with the dark and you get something for an alien-movie. Yes the stone buildings look older, but they don’t look better and also maybe the way that their older builsings look doesn’t have to be the same as ours. For example their way of building things in their equivalent of say the stone-age might not look the same to how humans built huts in our stone-age. This is a way of saying that maybe the Engineers were always more advanced.

Another thing is that show that the big Engineers (LV-223) created those on Planet 4, or maybe that they were once the same but the split into factions, or that the big ones created those on Planet 4, because they could. The point is that even though the Engineers are smarter than humans they still have their problems. You can go in any direction about who the originals are, it got to make some sense. Give some answers without overtly explaining it.

Thoughts_DreamsAlien: Romulus 2 NewsRidley Scott says a new Alien movie is in development but will likely not continue the Prometheus story

BD:

About Blomkamp, maybe he wasn't alone with how the prequels have turned out but that doesn't justify bringing Ripley back and erase Alien 3. Prometheus had the Engineers that were interesting but it lacked characters and the Engineers were too vague. Like with AC it would have helped a lot to bring the cut scenes in, crappy editing.

“… Prometheus indeed had more FLAWS than to SIMPLY not have any Xenomorphs.”

No doubt, just look around the Internet. I mean “I love rocks”, what the hell? That was some really stupid writing, LOL. When I think about it the no Xenos isn't very high up on my list. Prometheus didn't need the Xeno if you ask me, just show something close to it. Yeah, Scott didn't help things but Fox effed it up. Some mystery is fine but when you got to watch a movie 50 times to understand it, then it gets ridiculous. A movie without Xenos is fine, in case it would be a trilogy they could've saved it for the last movie. What makes me annoyed is to have David as the creator because it takes a dump on the franchise.

Getting more answers to the Engineers would've been awesome but they erased it. More Shaw could've been alright if she would’ve been like in The Crossing. Rapace did a good job there. LV-223 could've been explained a bit more but not much. Prometheus closed that door fairly good so don't over-explain it. David was interesting in Prometheus and even though he got worse in AC he isn't even the reason why I care about the franchise. The androids isn't why I watch the movies so the story was wrong at least the part about David, but I don’t bash on space-exploring.

I don't think that you can blame Blomkamp for AC, if Prometheus would've been better we wouldn't have seen that excitement for Alien 5. AC became mediocre at best not because of Blomkamp but because of an over-reliance on AI and mostly underwhelming human characters.

“… as far as DAVID the Creator Goes who REALLY knows 100% WHY this Curve-ball came about.”

We don't know exactly but Scott seems to be very excited about AI so maybe that's a reason why, even though that might just be one reason to why it became what it became. A lot of people got annoyed by that, at least that is pretty safe to say.

"… unless this was RS giving the Fans/Fox the Finger because he HAD to bring the Xenomorph back etc."

That shouldn't be based on feelings though if that was the case, you got to think about how that affects the franchise and how people might react to it. What we have now is a lot of discontent among people and Scott and Fox only have themselves to blame for this. I don't care about David, he could have a small part of the story but right now it's too much.

"… Alien Covenant then all of this was just deemed NOT IMPORTANT... it was about the Themes through the EYES/ARC of DAVID.... which was too much… at the Sacrifice of the Engineers.”

To me it was like they got rid of a lot of interesting ideas and made it all about David. They probably came up with different ideas when it comes to the writing and some of it gets rejected so who knows what they talked about. Many of them might have been a lot more interesting than what we were given.

"Sadly i think the Prequels and MOST of what they shown is DEAD i certainly cant see Disney going to Invest in that, and Certainly they WONT give us a Continuation to AC."

Maybe, but if Ridley and Fox would have done it better then I think that we wouldn't have that problem. They should've had better writers also, I read the script for AC and I wasn't too impressed. I would've liked to see more about the Engineers, their connection to the creature, and more with the black goo. So many interesting things that just got thrown to the side. AC wasn't very exciting so I don't need a follow-up at all. What's worse is that the next movie most likely would've been another David-movie, I don't want to support that because it's crap. Not to say that they can't do a good alien-movie, but I don't think that's the way to go. Both from a story-perspective and from a money-perspective (what Disney wants and what the audience prefers) it seems bad.

Thoughts_DreamsAlien: Covenant ForumFinal statements

No matter how much crap they will give us, nothing will take away the first three movies. The novelizations by Alan Dean Foster seem to be good too even though I haven’t read them. Sorry that you feel so bad about it so you have to leave.

Raised By Wolves seems to be boring as F if you ask me, that’s my opinion. If you leave just because people have different opinions then it will be difficult to be a member of any forum. Notice that I don’t claim that’s your reason for it, but the franchise is disappointing right now. You will never agree with everyone. Honestly I have a difficult time to understand what people find exiting about Raised By Wolves. I'm saying this just to let you know that you're not alone about that opinion. No characters + over-relying on androids = shitty TV-show, movie, or what ever, that’s my take on it.

“I grew up with ALIEN and loved it...then, well..it died...“

I kind of agree although there are parts of the movies after Alien 3 that I find alright. Yeah in general there are too much disappointing things right now at least as far as the movies are concerned.

As I cintinue my 'clean-up' efforts I once again want to say how much I appreciate all of you as friends and especially your words of support and encouragement.

And just to say, in 'Out Of The Silent Dark' I think you guys will appreciate some new revelations about The Alien.

Been working for a long time to give it back it's Mystique and Mojo to undo how it's been turned into just another moving-target for gunnery parctice.

The Colonial Marines are lucky they weren't in MY 'House'. ;)

I'd LOVE to add some illustrations and such...but I have NO read as ZERO drawing/art skills and all the artists I have tried to contact...well....13 months and NO replies, so nuff said.

I dunno...maybe I will take some time, consider things. But the truth seen in the screencap, well...speaks for itself...NO one gives a cold shit about my stories.

Leave your projects fixed on this site, try to insert drawings or graphics in your stories, the FANDOM universe has always been like this, unfortunetly, before you even for many years. I have reviewed them and I think adding drawings or pictures maybe could improve them.
