It's really well done for being fan made, impressive. The movie is very short but it gets the point across and it was also nice to see an Engineer again. Who knows, if we won't get a third prequel and get to know more about them then maybe we will get more fan made things with them in it? Getting those characters is one of the good things that the prequels have done so far so hopefully they won't be forgotten if they make another one or maybe they can be used in spin-offs.
Someone should show that one to Scott so he sees that here is still an interest among some people when it comes to the Engineers. One thing that I noticed was the contrast between the ship on the ground and the bird in the sky one minute into the movie. Even though the ship and the bird sequence was very short it was such a contrast so I was like "wow!". There are times when small moments in a movie get your attention, that was one of those.
I watched it. I can say that it's a new good experience. Well, i never noticed that Walter liked to whistle, before he had learned to play the flute.
David found his...WOLF and has a flock of lambs to play GOD. His religion is CREATION of what? Of a NEW CIVILIZATION, where he is the next visionary in the entire Universe.

Yeah the 2nd New Trailer does change our Perception of the Show compared to the First ;) so things we could Speculate in the First Trailer, we have a Slight Change of Opinion with the New Trailer as it reveals more ;)

I think that the Prequels have been about David and its through his ARC that we see a Retelling of History. The Themes about the Prequels are really Interesting and on Multiple Layers so i wonder if this EDIT will try and Emphasis on them.

I think while i have Watched ALIEN quite a lot and Studied it a lot, there are many others out their who have a Wealth of Knowledge more about the Movie ;)
What i mainly do is too look at and Speculate about the Things we have not seen, well to try and Look at more in Depth Speculation about things we dont see. And so to think about how you can Expand on Certain things that we was shown Little about.
For me the GREATEST part was the Derelict and Space Jockey its this Mystery that i had always been Interested in. By the Time we had come to Alien 3, i felt we had seen Quite a lot about the Xenomorph as far as a WAY FORWARDS. Only thing to be shown would be WHAT would the Company do with IT should they Finally Obtain a Specimen which Alien Resurrection went on to kind of indicate.
So we still had the ORIGINS of the Xenomorph to wonder about.... However i was more Intrigued with the Space Jockey Race and HOW/WHY and WHEN did they have those Eggs and to Ponder as to WHY was they in that Area of the Solar System... where was HE going? and where DID he come from?
And so for me it was Prometheus that i had Studied more, and with ALIEN it was about looking at HOW it would Connect to Prometheus.
Going back to the Elephantine Figure i think its Interesting to Wonder to WHY it was placed as a Easter Egg... some could NOW use this to Speculate that the idea was all along that the Space Jockey was the Skeleton of a Giant Elephantine Creature LOL
And they would be Correct.... that was the Plan (Skeleton) but it was the Skeleton of something that was NOT really Elephantine as this Aesthetic was by HR Giger and at this Point then the Monster and the Unfortunate Giant Race of Explorers had CHANGED to something Different and Unique. Nice trailer. I saw this a couple days ago and it looks like this has been in development for a couple years. It seems to have dropped off the radar until recently. I hope it gets completed soon. I wonder if there are copyright issues holding it up even though it is fan fiction.

All the google results do not, of which there are only a couple hundred, refer back to the creature itself sitting in the chair only as an elephantine looking thing.....
None of the google results link back to the actual elephant figuring on the left side of Kane's monitor.....that appears and reappears in different parts of the film.
It would also appear that you are one of the leading experts on this film on the entire planet.....20 books worth of posts at 1200 pages each approximately would make you more than a Doctor technically speaking.....Dr. BigDave. LOL

It is also very cool to think that for 40 years a lot of us have been interested in this film if nothing else....it just shows how cool this film is.

Certainly i think that the Subject of Innocence of a Child and the Effect of Knowledge and Upbringing and Desires and Ambitions which can LEAD to a Number of Negative Human Desires like Greed, Power are all Interesting and it will be Interesting to see how RBW will Deal with these.
If we look at the PLOT then Mother and Father would know the RISK of such Ways of Mankind could have on a New Humanity.
They could Raise and Nurture this 6 Children, we could see Generation after Generation come from those Children where things could be MAINTAINED in Harmony and Peace.. but Eventually you could get some WHO may Start to Think and have Desires that Mother could see as being the SEED to the Path to the Same kind of Ways that lead to Mankinds Downfall.

So seeing WHAT she may do to some of them could be Interesting and i Suspect her Actions could be something Father does NOT approve of.... and THEN.... if she is Found Out by her Children what she MAY do to some of the Children from Earth..... HOW would this affect her Children to see a Dark Side of Mother?

I will add and this is in regards to ALIEN V that when we look at some of Blomkamps Concepts and then some of the other Released Concepts showing MUTATED Specimens.
Then it maybe could be similar to some of the Speculation that some have had on here about the Destruction of Hadleys Hope and the Possibility of Radiation having a Effect on the Eggs on the Derelict.
Maybe in PART this is what Blomkamps idea was, and we have to Remember his Initial Idea would NOT see the return of Ripley, it was only after he talked to Miss Weaver about his Plans that she MAGICALLY got to be included (Ripley).
I even Presented the idea of doing this kind of take on a ALIENS Sequel..... with the Idea of calling it. ALIEN: GAMMA
Gamma as in the Greek Alphabet 3rd Letter as in a Parallel Alien 3 but also Gamma as in Radiation and WHAT kind of Effect that has on those Eggs ;)
So from a Story Telling POV then there are Avenues to bring about other ALIEN Stories that dont have to be about Ripley, but also where you can kind of Introduce a Xenomorph that Varies a Little from the Vanilla Version we have seen in the ALIEN Franchise and AVP.

You have GONE and BLOWN UP both LV-223 and LV-426, oh Dear..... well maybe you could like Clone someone who was Infected? Oh thats been Done before LOL
But i think that its a Good Point to come from what you have DONE, because indeed and Especially Theatrically then you see People Failing to come up with a way to Introduce us to a Monstrous Threat without having to go to LV-426.
The Ending to ALIENS is a Good Example it was like OK so Hadleys Hope is Destroyed and so the Derelict and so WHERE can we go and Introduce the Xenomorph again... and they seem to RUN OUT of ideas....
Where as they SHOULD be asking a Simple Question.... what are the ODDS that the Derelict as the ONLY Ship the Space Jockey would have been using to Transport those Eggs?
And even in LIGHT of the Prequels (which Opens more Avenues) then i think REGARDLESS of WHEN/HOW/WHY does the Derelict get on LV-426.... i think that Whoever and However the Eggs had been Obtained/Created then we have to ASK........ is the Derelict the ONLY ONE?
And so if there is the Possibility of there being MORE Ships that had such Cargo then we can ASK.... Where did they GO?
The same is with LV-223 and the Black Goo, so the Engineers were going to go to Earth to Bombard us with Black Goo..... we can assume the Engineer in Prometheus was Part of this Plan (or maybe he Prevented it). But there seemed to be Quite a lot of Dead Engineers... I think we cant just Assume they Planed to LOAD UP just the One Ship for Earth and Needing all those Engineers just hanging around before things went to POT!
Dr Shaw heads to another Complex and we know that they had taken another Juggernaught which had the Bio-Weapon as David used it on the Engineers or Planet 4.
So again this brings us to the Questions..
*How many Engineer Ships were on LV-223 and How many had been Loaded Up with the Bio-Weapon?
*Was the Preparations before the Outbreak 2000 Years ago the FIRST and ONLY time they had prepared and Planed to USE the Bio-Weapon?
*Is LV-223 the ONLY place they Store and Produce their Biological Warfare?
So indeed Blackwinter-witch there are other avenues to take us to Horrors that are Connected to the Xenomorph, Deacon and Neomorph etc... there is NO real Dead End ;)
The Easiest Way Forwards could be to GO TO a Place where another Ship with Eggs had been too, or another Ship with its Payload of Black Goo and then HOW LONG ago was this and WHAT kind of Horrors are in/on this Place ;)

I think the Google Search you Conducted does show that its something that HAS-NOT came up a LOT... Which if it was merely a Mug with Weyland on it or something else it could be Passed By... But as it is a Elephantine like Key Chain/Ring that is ON the VDU screen that Lambert uses and so the Navigation Screen if you would...
I think by Virtue that it appears to be a Bi-Pedal Elephantine Object then i think its ODD that it has not been Brought Up more on the Internet on sites or Youtube etc before... in Posts like "did you catch the Space Jockey Figure on the VDU"

Saw the gorilla missed the curtain changing color and the person in black leaving the game....very interesting use of visual psychology that illustrates the complexities of vision when viewing many complex movements.
This was a stationary object though....the size does matter obviously and the other sounds in conjunction with it...I still am going with another interpretation based on the people that have taken the time to go frame by frame of this film for decades....people such as BigDave....40 years is a long time to look at this type of media and be completely unaware of its while it is right in front of them....
I like how the narrator says about 50% of the people miss the gorilla....how about tens of millions with a stationary object??? Around the world? We should see standard deviations with this as well but we don't - not even close....to be fair though I am not taking certain variables into consideration....the majority of the people that watch this film have only viewed it a few times, they do not study the film as all of us do, and they watch the film and perhaps never come back to watch the film ever again...
Still we should see a larger number of random people closer to edge of the bell cure from the mean distribution even randomly getting this and its just not there.....a person like BigDave would be the control we are testing everything else against.....when people like him and me miss it than there is more to the story.

Hox almost 20 books at 1225 pages of material about this subject with something right in front of him for 40 years..... 11,700,000 - ELEVEN MILLION WORDS.....and thing is HOX NONE OF YOU MENTION IT EITHER.....so now we are talking about another 100 Million words or more....and then all the other posts from the other websites....in other words we need another better explanation of why?
And lets not forget about the tens of millions of people who saw this film around the planet in different languages....it just never existed until recently....BD would have said something about or many of the other thousands of people who visit these posts.
@dk, you’re right. The only reason I went to the trouble of grabbing and comparing a load of screenshots was because Alien is such a brilliant and iconic movie. Lesser movies would not be worth analysing.
Good directors - especially the likes of Ridley Scott - know where the typical viewer’s eye will travel, and the scene is framed accordingly. Studies have been done to track viewer’s eyeballs, showing where they are looking in a frame, and most humans behave similarly. So it’s not entirely surprising that minor details get missed. Continuity errors abound but they don’t generally affect the quality of a movie.
Here’s an interesting video demonstrating how perception works. Even if you’ve seen it before, it’s worth watching to the end.

What has me spooked the most is that BigDave could easily write a few books about this film in explicit detail and just until recently, days ago, this was right in front of him for over 40 years and he never notices it until now.
I agree with everyone...yes there are continuity errors in this film and most films.....it is the nature of this error about this specific detail right in front of people like BigDave that is of concearn...not that he misses it because it is right in front of him for over 40 years....for the very real fact it was not there and that is the reason he never introduces it or discusses it ever.

The quantum game is afoot as they say and we have culprit!!! A real one - the person that makes the video about this scene being subliminal forshadowing....is inconsequential in any tangible or meaningful way. Should this not be a continuity error, and that is plausible then something with a lot of power changed all of this just recently.....something that works on an order and magnitude faster than computers even from a few hundred years from now.
There is that scene in the matrix....with the cat....this reminds me of that...in every explicit detail....what did we all just really see when the universe split?/or multi-universe?...a bit too much to go into for these purposes....but a many worlds interpretation or split universe. It is too soon to say this is just a continuity error.
The mathematical odds of it being a continuity error are similar to this....for 40 years there is a small statue/figurine you place on your own desk. For 40 years you look at it every day and yet somehow are unable to notice it even though it is right there in front of you staring you in the face.....then one day somebody says oh look how interesting why did you put that figurine on your desk? What does it that figurine mean to you?.....and you look at them and say I do not recall ever seeing that small figurine there before ever!.....and all of this is even stranger than that....this one is statistically different and for good reasons....millions of people saw this film around the world....and it was never there for them either - until just recently.

I usually don't get caught up in what actors are in a film or show. I just want it to be good. It's a decent preview but is a bit spoilerish.
Perfect organism....
I wanted to leave it somewhat nebulous in regards to it's connections with Prometheus and the other works in the Canon Alienverse, and I did enjoy taking things into a new direction.
The ALIEN Universe is huge, there's all manner of stories, plots, plans, schemes and people busy with their lives and agendas...and technology that increasingly allows more and more 'godlike' machinations by people. :)
I intended Perfect Organism as a self-contained short work, but while it IS that, it doesn't close any doors about future things connected to it...should ideas pop into my head. :)
Back to Perfect Organism. The Prometheus/Covenant influences are obvious but not overly so- and you took it in a different direction. There is enough information and dialogue for it to be a self contained short or it could serve as a scene to a larger work. Having a short attention span, I will go with the former.
In ALIEN: Manticore one of the main characters is not Human, and has something of a pretty tragic past that would be tough for anyone to cope against, be they Chimeran or not.
It's touched on in the book, but this gives that anecdote some depth.

Preaching to the choir. Do something new and different but don't ride on the coat tails of a franchise to cheapen it to make a few bucks while pissing on and diluting its greatness. Off shoots are fine but don't rewrite history.

Blackwinter-witch On the other hand, chewing up your works like a pack of hungry wolves because there is an error shows that people are paying attention. It might even be a good idea to drop a deliberate error in there just to see if anyone catches it ;)
It's exactly this kind of Laboratory Dissection that motivates me to keep things in my works as solid as humanly possible in respect to their own Continuity and canon. I'm certain I do not always succeed, but I do make the effort.
Because I KNOW you guys will slice things up thin and run them under a microscope. :D

I'm right there with you. The entire idea of writing things off as a dream or such...well, it's basically a huge middle finger to the audience and fans.

Others have also played with it too...and it always annoys people, turns them off a franchise.
It's a cheap way to 'reset' things outside of time travel--another seriously over-used chestnut, and it's the recourse of lazy writers unwilling to roll up their sleeves and put some hard creative work in.
EG: In ALIEN: Manticore, the characters wiped out any trace of the LV-426 Derelict and everything in The Valley Of The Engineers on LV-223.
This does create some problems for me in doing the sequel, I admit, but lots of hard thinking and I found ways around the problems that are Plausible and fit into things seamlessly.
If I ever cheap-out and disrespect my audience using time-travel or Dream 'resets', I hope someone has the good sense to check under my bed for a bodysnatcher pod. :D

1 - Here’s the first time we see a console.
2- Here’s another. Except it’s probably the first one dressed up with some additional props.
3 - Here it is again, lighting up.

Because when they created the video game it was not there either until now.....there are discrepancies and the biggest one is that we can see it now for some reason as before for over the past 40 years, despite it being right in front of all of us we never see it?????? NOT ONCE DOES IT EVER COME UP FOR DECADES UNTIL RECENTLY.
BigDave we argued in this forum about the way Bishop held a knife in Aliens....the way a character was holding something for days.....but this never came up not one time by thousands of people.....and it was there in front of us for 40 years.....
It was not there that is why it never came up....it appeared recently....and that is also why we can go oh how did I miss that for so long....it was right there in front of me the entire time????
It was never there originally until now.....and we should try to figure out why.

For 40 years none of us saw this....not ever not once, why is that?
I bet a lot of you would not be able to recall it under hypnosis either....this is all stranger than you think....I bet a lot of you could recall more detail under hypnosis about a lot of things in this movie that would prove this aspect of the film is a rather serious anomaly that we cannot have a knee jerk reaction to and just say well that is something I never saw before.....something we just missed.
A better question to ask yourselves now is are there any other things, objects in this film you think you may not know are there but they are there and were always there.
I am confident I could go frame by frame in this movie and identify every aspect it. With a degree of certainty of why it's there, why the people who made this movie put it there, and there reasons for it......the small elephantine figurine does not fit in that analysis....until now just a few days ago...it just appeared recently....and no one has a rational explanation why millions of people missed it?
Ergo it was never there to begin with....and yet we are to believe it was right there in front of all of us for 40 years....
I have low expectations, but we shall see. I am fine with leaving the Quadrilogy alone. If it is between movies or after Resurrection, that might be ok although Ripley should be a minor presence if she appears at all even if it's just her voice. If it is based off of dreams or hypersleep, I will hard pass.
BigDave If memory serves, I thought FOX didn't like Scott's ideas and wanted them in the Alienverse. Especially when he seemed a little annoyed with Covenant and he wanted to move away from the Xenomorph. I believe he said, "If they want Aliens, I'll give them f@cking aliens."
I'll keep an open mind, and in time we'll see what we see...but I really hope it's not just Ripley dreaming in hypersleep.
Good point! Anytime you add a new dynamic into even a tiny ecosystem or biological cycle, you'll get all kinds of variables leading eventually to wholly unexpected changes.
With something like this, fun to watch and study--from orbit. lol
