Timmy the ultramorph agreed!! Some truly talented concept artists out there.
That's the truth Timmy the ultramorph.
The 4th image is my favorite...could be Dr. Shaw with a little tinkering.
it would make sense if david adapted the engineer invented xenomorph to fit his specifications I think this is were they wil go in awakening
ridley neads to hire some of these people for the engineer homeworld design.
I really hope they do a directorsa cut. as dk said, mabey to boost sales for awakenig they will gives us a directors cut.
also in prometheous, the fifield mutation deleted scenes was much better than hat we saw
Critters5 AC had the same issue as Prometheus- both would be much better with some of the scenes added in- for instance, that scene where the Engineer was looking around and started to thumb through a book. It gave depth to the Engineer showing he was curious about humans. Instead, it got chopped and the theatrical scene felt sloppy and rushed.
I am at a loss for what reason the Prologue and Crossing the Plaza were not included in the theatrical release Critters5.
Both viral videos would not have added too much time but would have added much needed clarification..the Prologue especially. And, I also would have liked Walter in the garden opposed to in the colonists' hypersleep chamber when the neutrino burst notification came in from Mother. This would have matched what was written in the book (Alien: Covenant novelization, page 25).
That being said...I still loved Alien: Covenant and I can only wish that Dr. Shaw is in more of the prequel material.
I know dk. I had Iron Maiden cassette tapes I played where my dad couldn't hear.
You are most welcome.
Ati Thanks! They also make for good polite unwanted guest repellent.
Ingeniero Oh those crazy 80s! Thanks!
Also, RS didn't even want to do a director cut of Alien because he thought the theatrical version was good to go.
100% agree. One of the best parts of the movie was cut from the movie.
Scott's clout does not extend past one or two more movies. Fox will have him replaced for sure once and if they let him tie up his loose ends to Alien.
If any movie needed this its AC the film is awful and it really would be a lot better with the additional footage imo.
That extra information regarding Weyland knowing has been removed by Fox and re-written by AC.
If Awakening is the last movie to tie into the original, it will contain the Space Jockey explanation, more on the Engineers and their culture, and the Deacon. All of this will have to wrap up in one movie because after that, you will have 3-4 movies full of material not at all related to any of the pre-1979 movie. I could imagine RS deciding to say he will add on to the end of the franchise to explore more, but it wouldn't be possible to in the timeline of films to show all of this new expanding material (Engineers, Deacon, Space Jockey story, etc) in the prequels, to then ignore them for Alien-Alien Resurrection, then bring them back again, when by that point it's already been hundreds of years in the in-film timeline. I'm excited to see how they squeeze it all together in one film since they almost have to. I feel they will try to make it a revelation type film, where as the movie progresses, you're being shown all this stuff that makes you go "Oooh, ok. Now that makes sense." But in the grand scheme of things, only Prometheus gave me that feeling, the rest have just been regular Alien movies with nothing spectacular to walk away with.
Well if he "makes it up to the fans" with that, that would be opening the flood gates to other things fans want made right in their own mind.
I felt like the Weyland Corp was somewhat involved in finding Planet 4, but with the transmission that David sent at in one of the shorts outside of the film, it sounded like he was explaining his experiments to Weyland Corp, but not actually sharing as if they were working together. It felt more like he was just saying "This is all I've accomplished so far, and this is what I'm planning to do, but I don't need your help anymore." Like maybe the initial plan was to collect specimens, do some experiments to see what we're dealing with, then bring it all back to the company for further study. Instead, David has found what they were looking for, but with his almost infinite knowledge and ability to learn more, he decided to take things into his own hands and move ahead with his own agenda now.
Didn't the field insects things have the same mouth?
Great and exciting topic ScorpioStar! The Box is a special movie, no doubt.
Before watching Twin Peaks season 3, you should rewatch the Twin Peaks movie 'Fire Walk with Me'. Season 3 changes everything and takes us to the next level. Lynch mentioned that season 4 might become reality...
Dark Nebula - Enemy (2009) is an interesting movie. I like its corridor scene.
Thank you and I hope Ridley Scott will be given a lot of money to show us his breathtaking dreams.
Glad you like them.
I was surprised a little bit how easy it was for him two match the characters and the zodiac signs.
Happy Birthday Everybody! :DDDDDDDD
dk - I like your letter. :)
This is the beginning of a beautiful future.
I'm sure Scott will give us a breathtaking Alien war movie.
Here's another similar helmet, Armet with mask visor from 1520-1525, Germany.

dk - Your house seems to be a wonderful place to live where the rooms are full of enigmatic corners to be discovered. :D
Nice fan fun!
I like the last painting very much.
BigDave - That's true! If I remember well, the Alien Covenant concept art included similar ideas as well.
dk - I don't agree with you here. We need shocking scenes in the new Alien movie as well. But it's true that these scenes must be creative and original.
Indeed, it would be exciting to see that environment in an Alien movie!
Great topic BigDave. You could not have picked a better term than "shoe-horning" in developing the xenomorph origin.
I'll be back soon to discuss other topics. Thank you again for this.
This is so great Ati, thank you. I have to agree with both you and BigDave regarding the top jaw comparison. It is so nice to find adaptations of earlier concepts like this because it adds value to all of the concept work.
I want to see an army of Manny's attack and domesticate the situation.

We need more Jonesy. I love the poster.
Great find ninXeno426.

Great point Lilly (Svanya).

Walter may end up like Elden and the groundwork for this event may have been shown in the Walter viral material mentioning customers' DNA.
What is this below brain made of?

If it is even a small part organic then we can expect an "Elden" type event (below) from Walter after introducing the pathogen to him.

Great angle from this artist Ati.
