Sorry guys, I've been over zealous....I finally seeit as the mutant jumping, not a black hand...

the OP's theory is similar to mine. my idea is the terraforming is deliberate seeding of planets to provide hosts ; they harvest a planet by impregnating and breeding from it, and the xeno we know is another application of the same technology

the best part is that the alien is so adapted at killing and its so vicious and fast and strong..but homo sapien can go toe to toe with it..thats the coolest part,,that humanity doesnt actually have to spend all its time running from the thngs but can lock stock and kick their asses...its strikes a deep chord...like when as a tribe we used to be able to hunt lions. homo sapien is a bad ass..we have spears...bows...pulse rifles

that and the queen is perhaps one of the most amazingly lifelike animatronic puppets ive ever seen

aliens 3 was boring, dull, rehashed, stupid, and killed the franchize...when the alien chest bursts as ripley is falling was laughably stupid,,they killed newt and hicks and then ripley..the setting is so incredibly dull..it isnt suspensfull or creepy..it looks like they are running around a fuckng pueblo. the setting for alien and aliens was horrifying....the colony was an amazing setting that had a reactor and med labs..and was hugely suspensful...david fincher does not impress me at all...se7en and social network are overrated and dull. the guy should be directing music videos not full length features

In aliens. Ripley says "They Cut the Power" Hudson replies "How Could they cut the power man their animals". I believe they have some form of intelligence. Mostly Instinct but smart enought to cut power, avoid turrent guns and find another way in to its Food and More hosts for the Queen.

I'll add to this - so many months later. Now that the Tagline is out, what does everyone think? "The Search For Our Beginning Could Lead To Our End" It's okay only if it were not tied to the "Alien Universe" in any way. Because since it is, it does not make much sense since we know that nothing 'lead to our end' because life went on with Alien/Aliens/Alien 3/Alien: Resurrection (some 200+ years later) TM5 ~ ...minutes to reach minimum safe distance

Super Mario Brothers! Falling between floors down a never ending hole. SCURRRYYY! lol but on a more serious note. Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and dead space. All 3 are my top horror games.

Does not really matter to me is it's efficient etc. I just love the fact that whatever it is, it creeps me the h3ll out! That's what the major point is here. Not so much to make sure that it all make 'sense' and is efficient in our eyes. The point is to creep people out - and it did/does! I can't wait until June

Hopefully 3hours! As it'll be the best 3hours of my 24year young life so far. . . Yeah DB you're right there! Lol. I just hope this isn't in ANYWAY similar to Avatar, which was so over-done and cliched I think I was gonna shoot myself. I've seen potential comparisons saying Prometheus is like the anti-Avatar, which I assume means it won't be like that and WILL be dark/scary and meaningful!

Hi all - new here. @jones - I did what you said and I do think it's the same room, or at least another exam room that is similar. In the top pic, if you look just to the right of Vickers' shoulder, you see that arch thing at the end of the exam table. Now look on the bottom pic under the letter "H" in Promet"H"eus. You see that same arch. It looks like it's moved up closer to the wall. So in the bottom pic, it looks like that door we see, would be diagonal and behind Shaw, behind the bigger monitor on the rolling table/shelf thing (in the top pic). Also, in the top of the top pic, right above the arch thing - there are two smaller monitors that have a sort of stair-step design to the bottom of them. You can also see these little monitors (from behind) in the bottom pic on either side of the fully formed "E" in Prom"E"theus. ALSO on the bottom pic - haha - you can see two small round lights on either side of the shoulders of the girl who has fallen to her knees. These same lights are seen on the side of the exam table that Shaw is standing next to (one visible to the left of her left thigh. The other is not visible because Shaw is standing in the way). My gosh!!! I... can't... wait... till... June...

Not to mention @jones and @T-Minus-Five, the bay of three bright blue/white lights behind Shaw in the top pic appears to be on the far wall, deep in the background of the second pic. I think that exam table with the arch is mobile in one way or another......

I really need to find a copy of Doom somewhere. Oh wait I have a PS1 disc of it.... Kewl :-D

If it's not a collision (which IMO it most likely is) perhaps it could be that the Prometheus is inside of the Derelict and explodes through a 'self-destruct' sequence. Perhaps 'VIckers' and 'Shaw' escape just before the Derelict traps the Prometheus????...............

Ok Batman mode is on... Vickers running towards the escape pod is because Janis is about to slam into the derelict, as evidenced by the shot where it looks like he is yelling "ARRRRRRRGH!!!" flying straight into it. And again, the debris of the ship on the ground as Vickers and Shaw are bolting for safety is a giveaway. That's my take on it anyways

....whatever the case may be...it looks like Vickers is in a great deal of an hurry to get of the Prometheus...even getting undressed as she runs...so either she's making her way to a space toilet and she's got the runs..lol....or it is what it appears to be ...most likely an escape pod... maybe the Prometheus is set for self destruction or on a collision course with the space croissant?

Could be Cypher, to me Janis is having more of a "what the F&*% is that" moment...... and Vickers looks as cool as a cumcumber......

Hmm. . . This has been really working my brain but that explosion we see with the Derelict, it cannot be the Prometheus causing or being part of it as you would clearly see it. The Derelict is a hugeeee ship but the Prometheus looks pretty big aswell, probably half the size maybe?? I think the Derelict was launching and something happened after it got going. . .
