I don't know if it has been said before, but if it has my apology. I was just watching Alien today and watched the deleted scenes. They have one, where Captain Dallas had Lambert play the audio out loud for the crew to all hear. It was creepy to me and am wondering if Mr. Scott will use the same audio or language. I do realize it is a deleted scene.

Ooh, will grab!
On another note, I bought a Sony blu-ray player the other week. Surprisingly the player's DVD region code was already unlocked...wouldn't of expected it from such a bunch of hardasses like Sony, LOL!

I would just love for the Blue Guy to be a Red Herring. Riddick does not belong in this film.
Also for the next trailer, I would just love for a voiceover by none other than John Hurt himself. That would be a nod to all the fans that yes this is Alien - no Ripley, no Starbeast but it still is Alien you're looking at.
"They went looking... For our beginning.... What they found... Could be our end..." in the husky, raspy throaty, voice of John Hurt. Would be cool.

Like really big fans of Alien and Prometheus, right...
Right, well the thing is, you see, right...
I am Ridley Scott, right...

@Cypher,
-" if you will, because when it comes down to it if we were created by God or aliens, Ridley has it right when he says there is no way we could exist without some kind of help from a higher being. Be it God or creatures we have not yet encountered."
How do you figure this? Science has a pretty good idea how life evolved in this planet.
ReplyMentosPrometheus ForumWill Prometheus have a 15 or 18 rating (UK Ratings). . .Jan 28, 2012
I listen to Mark Kermode here. For anyone who doesn't know, he's a UK film critic; and one of the most respected at that. He is very in tune with BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) ratings, and I've heard him talk a lot about classification before. Mark essentially cites that it is hard for films to achieve an 18 rating (R-rating) unless they contain a lot of sex and/or sexual violence.
So Prometheus might get a lower rating if it doesn't contain a great deal of sex/sex related violence, but there is always the chance we'll still get to see crew members get torn limb from limb.
ReplyXenophobePrometheus ForumWill Prometheus have a 15 or 18 rating (UK Ratings). . .Jan 28, 2012
But if a new full length trailer is apparently added to Phantom Menace 3D in 3weeks, how could Prometheus possibly be above a 12 rating. "Oh yeah lets put a trailer for an 18 movie before a U rated one". . . If that was the case, Prometheus would look crap to millions of people who wouldn't even see any horror related footage in the trailer!
ReplyMentosPrometheus ForumWhat's next from Fox marketing depart?Jan 28, 2012
I'd hazard a guess at simultaneous 2D and 3D releases; as is the case with most films. As for the trailer(s)? Well the trailer we've seen so far has only aired online and in American cinemas, nothing has been played overseas yet (to my knowledge, although I may be incorrect).
We might see a second trailer release worldwide, or we might get a separate overseas trailer.

The second photo of a wall-mounted mask (just a face and neck with
a silvery black finish and chrome teeth) is my creation and has been in
no way connected to Prometheus. Just for the record in case I get my
bottom sued.

Am I the only one that finds that weird/gay????
ReplyMarcusArtPrometheus ForumHuman / Alien hybrid maquette?Jan 28, 2012
Interesting. I think this is all either fan art, old work or it may even be early rough work for ideas. I would say that you won't have seen anything the Sir Ridley doesn't want you to see.
The bar needs to be raised, even if this is a prequel. There's no point in only doing the same. The story will be leading up to the awakening of the Nostromo crew in Alien. I think you'll find the scope of the movie however to be bigger. This is an adventure horror movie. It will go further out into space and deeper into humanity and its origins.
The Alien is probably a tool - the Space Jockey's may have experimented and they, like us are possible their creation. Or perhaps they created the 'Xenomorph' to deal with a far greater problem: us!
ReplyStarbeastPrometheus ForumHuman / Alien hybrid maquette?Jan 28, 2012
Seriously, ZetaReticuli, the wall-mounted one is your creation??? In that case let me prostrate myself before you and declare "I am not worthy!". That piece of artwork is truly mesmerizing. I wish we could turn back time and get you on the art team for Alien Ressurection so that the "new-born" could look like that. Absolutely fantastic piece; is it publicly installed so I can go see it in the flesh or has some private collector snapped it up?
ReplyXenophobePrometheus ForumHuman / Alien hybrid maquette?Jan 28, 2012
IF that creature is in this movie, then no way will it be a low rating when it's released! Lol. Also, wouldn't it be interesting if the android did mix with a biological specimen which would possible explain why the Xeno's look biomechanical. . . ;)

Alright! I don't feel like a complete idiot anymore! I got my pics to post!
(Too complicated to explain here. PM me if you're having problems too.)
Image 1: Me sculpting a roach out of chicken-wire covered with masking tape. All the detail is actually just masking tape rolled up or bunched up into body detail. Then I covered that with more masking tape. And finished it off with multiple layers of resin. I use the masking tape as the "poor man's" fiberglass. This is one of 3 roaches that help make up this piece.
Image 2: Front view of roach.
Image 3: The first roach is positioned behind a lower human mandible. The mandible and teeth are made with the same procedure as the roach.
Image 4: The piece is one of my 13 "aural sculptures". They are sculptures that "sing" to you as you approach them. This piece (still missing the 2nd and 3rd roaches) is entitled: "Do the Roaches Really Want Nuclear War?" The first roach is the bartender, the molars are the bar stools, and the other 2 roaches (not yet pictured) are the patrons enjoying a toast. When you walk up to the sculpture, you trigger an .mp3 player that plays the tune I wrote (same name as the piece). The second roach is sculpted and skinned but not detailed yet. A 6 ft. ladder can be seen to the right for scale.
