@Mentos I am still not so sure. The interweb states Guy Pearce is 5'10" but in that first picture he towers above the rest.Rafe Spall however, is 6'3".If that is Guy Pearce, Noomi Rapace must be around 5' I do agree with the laser idea though, is this what can eviscerate them in a heartbeat I wonder?

Theusprom, I've read she is 5'4". And when Scott was asked about Rapace being like Weaver (Shaw vs. Ripley), Scott said "Yeah, I mean, they’re quite different women. Sigourney, to start with, is 6’1’’ in stocking feet, and Noomi insists that she is 5’1’’ in stocking feet." So, Pearce would be about 9" taller than Rapace and that picture would then make sense (he could also be standing on something).

Membrane, very true he could be standing on something, but why would he be?Also, Pearce is only two inches taller than Scott, but it looks a lot more in that picture. I just don't get the point of casting an actor like Guy Pearce only for him to get wiped out very quickly, unless like the Hurt Locker, it has a bearing on the story.

no im hoping for at least two hours + the longer the better 90 mins is no where near enough time to develop a rappor with the characters, i love an epic and epic suggests long and detailed.

190min version destined for BluRay release or uncut European version. US gets the PG13 + 160min version.

i cant remember the last time mr scott made a 90 min film its not his style especially in this genre 90 mins is fine for a tv pilot or a run of the mill popcorn flick but this is special.

As I recall the beginng of LoA is a funeral, then the story of his adventures, then back to the funeral. Not only that, but the comments that Ridley made about the crew in large places is also something else in LoA. The desert, the rooms, shrines.. etc...

I really don't get the studio here: on the one hand they're breaking Ridley's balls about this PG-13 bullcrap, and yet on the other hand, they wanna "squeeze 2 prequels" into a single film. I mean, hello! if you want to make some money, break it into 2 epic films and keep it rated R. That being said, I will piously watch through all 3 hours without a piss break.

Haha, I think some people misconstrued my comment about a 90-minute film. There was a /sarcasm tag there. :) There's no way you could pull this film off in 90 minutes.

The longer the better. On average every Alien film before was roughly 2 hours. So if they want to carry the tradition onward and have enough time to build a quality story it NEEDS to be AT LEAST 2 hours if not longer.

Alien was rated R due to it's violent content and it was necessary for powerful, shocking results and it endures the test of time. I'm hoping for cosistency where Prometheus will uphold this tradition. I really can't imagine a PG-13 rating, which should be released on Blue-Ray as an after thought instead. And the G rated version as an FLV file format.

Most Ridley's large scale films run in excess of 150 minutes: Gladiator 170min uncut Kingdom of Heaven 189 min uncut Robin Hood 155 min uncut 1492 154 min I think the studios have no problem granting him a long cut of the movie judging from his track record.

I imagined this coming in around the 2 hour mark. 2 and a half absolute tops.

@jones U really want thia movie be around 90 mins only? I know that quantity is unequal quality, but an epic movie should be around 150 mins, if not even longer, if there Is enough plot to be told.

@CBT, Haha, if you look at my first post, there's a /sarc (as in sarcasm) at the end. And then I made a second post stating that I was being sarcastic. It would be a disservice if this film is not at least 2.5 hours long.

Even if this movie is 3hours long, I'll be seeing it more than once! Prometheus is so obviously gonna be the most epic sci-fi film of all time, I can feel it. IF it isn't, then Ridley Scott must retire!

First and foremost, you have to remember that technically the scene where Newt's father enter's the derelict ship was a deleted scene. So if you want to be really technical that scene wouldn't be canon and the Aliens are the same species just designed slightly different. Cameron wanted to really enhance the environment the marines were in by altering the design of the Alien. Also Cameron was having problems with the durability of the original suit from the first Alien. He wanted a design that was slightly more menacing and also would be able to handle the wear and tear during the production of the film. Additionally you have to recognize the different species of Aliens, such as the Drones and Warriors and their different purposes designed for the life and longevity of the nest. Drones: have a smooth head with no ridges and are the "worker bees" of an Alien hive and are loyal servants to the Xenomorph Queen. They are responsible for collecting hosts, further building the hive, and caring for the Queen's eggs. They are usually nestled deep within the hive, protected by Warrior guards, like an ant queen, who never leaves the nursery chamber of an ant colony. She is able to detach from the ovipositor in an emergency, and will regenerate a new one when the danger is over. Queens also have a higher ability to relate cause and effect, and to make observations and deductions, allowing them a rudimentary understanding of technology in the same way as some primates. i wish at some point if this film reboots the franchise to see someone try and replicate the original design that giger's necronomicon portrays the necronomicon 4 image with the huge eyes and forgive the phrase penis shaped head for me its never been better or captured quite right. Sorry if I come across as an a**hole here but I feel I need to correct you on some of your facts in you explanations there Ripley Clone 8... Everything about the Queen is spot on except the height, they can reach 25 feet in height. Now... Both Drones and Warriors are responsible for all the responsibilities within a hive, including protecting the Queen. For Drones see Alien Resurrection and AVP, for Warriors see Aliens and AVPR. Both classes (not breeds) are the workers of the hive. Whereas the killing machines whom risk themselves are actually the Drones as evidenced in Alien and Alien 3. It is also commonly believed that Drones can become Warriors by shedding their dome.

haha, The information concerning the queen and the 25 feet high content was written by xenopedia. I didn't mention that but yes I see your corrections.

@ snorkelbottom Also I agree with you on the belief that Drones could become warriors by shedding their domes. Its noticable that under that dome that they have the same ridges as the Warriors do which I thought was interesting. Also the 25 feet high thing for the queen didn't seem right lol. I guess my source was wrong which makes sense because they were basing some of the science of AVP which is bullshit but yeah thanks for correcting me on that man.
