I agree with CBt on this one, the teaser has me excited about the film, but the way us lot analyse the hell out of it leaves nothing to the imgagination. I hope the full trailer keeps those secrets closely guarded until it's release.
"Who openes their presents before Christmas?!....
Shame on you!!

Can I ask where you got your info ImMrSage? I've searched for corroborating news info and I'm at a loss. Mind helping out?

Agree with CBT1979 & The gun....i personally woud not want the full trailer to give away anything. If its short and simple.....the better the mystery remains for speculation till the movie release.

Still dont know what that is, but
indeed it looks like an ufo
and not a space rupture like
in Halo where space vessels can travel
With slipspace technology.
Guess we need to wait for a trailer
that shows more if it or some new images
being leaked within the next months.
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumFlying saucerJan 15, 2012
WOW, what an interesting thought that is though, I never would have figured that based on what my mind thinks is the scale involved alone, but come to think of it, could in fact be possible.
ReplyGavinPrometheus ForumFlying saucerJan 15, 2012
yeah...
Engineers = big blue guys.
Engineers stay on board do their tests and stuff,
Space Jockeys = pilots.
space Jockeys fly the Derelict, maybe detaching the disc for observations.
Could be, could be... scale wise it could work, depends on the detail. would need a close up pic of the saucer from the trailer.
ReplyJockey2016Prometheus ForumFlying saucerJan 15, 2012
Wait.. how tall are they again? And they're blue? So Jim Cameron (director of Aliens!) has already shown them to us, in Avatar.
I see now... it's all connected. The Na'Vi develop into a highly technological race, with Jake Sully's help, and they and develop genetic engineering to create the aliens to destroy the humans! It all makes sense now! The elephant skulls are clearly just a throwback to their tribal warrior society, used to frighten the enemy.
ReplyJockey2016Prometheus ForumIt was so wrong!!Jan 15, 2012
That's not what she says.. "I was wrong.. we were so wrong!"
I take that to mean that what they found was most decidedly NOT what they thought they would find, and that they opened up a serious can of worms. Hence the "I'm so sorry".
As for who's speaking, just listen to the accent.. it's definitely Noomi Rapace's voice. The voice yelling "Prometheus" in the background sounds much more like Charlize Theron.
ReplyJuxtaposePrometheus ForumIt was so wrong!!Jan 15, 2012
....followed by a very distressed " I'm so sorry!".......for what?....and who is she addressing ?
ReplyJuxtaposePrometheus ForumIt was so wrong!!Jan 15, 2012
@ Jockey
Makes sense...have not seen girl with the dragon Tattoo yet...so I am not familiar with her voice......I could hear someone saying something in the very beginning tho...could never make it out...u reckon it is Charlize yelling..."prometheus"....interesting...
ReplyJuxtaposePrometheus ForumIt was so wrong!!Jan 15, 2012
one other thing....i did not really pick up an accent....but bare in mind that English is not Charlize's first language....she is from South Africa (like myself) and her first language is Afrikaans...(also my first language)....i can pick up a very slight accent whenever i hear her speak...tho anyone whom is not from this country will hardly notice....translated to afrikaans...
"I was wrong.. we were so wrong!......"i'm so sorry"
"ek was verkeerd...ons was almal so verkeerd!....ek is so jammer!".....
Those who speak Dutch or German might understand the language to a degree..
ReplycraigamorePrometheus ForumIt was so wrong!!Jan 15, 2012
If you listen very closely...I believe you can here the following...Now I will write chrologically, everything I've heard from both voices and I will separate voices with the use of qoutation marks...
"You have to understand"..."come in...come in...we need to"..."I was wrong...we were so wrong......and I'm so sorry."
Now I tend to agree with Jockey2016, the first and third set of qoutes are from the mouth of Noomi Rapace. The second set? I'm not sure who that is...we'll just have to wait and see.
ReplyCBT1979Prometheus ForumIt was so wrong!!Jan 15, 2012
It could be either vickers or shaw.
both are responsible for opening
The pandorra box i think.
ReplyJuxtaposePrometheus ForumIt was so wrong!!Jan 15, 2012
ok,,,I wonder if that is in fact the distress call the crew receive in the beginning of Alien....a very distorted version perhaps....who can tell for certain....gonna have to wait another 144 days.......2 fucking looooong ;)
ReplycraigamorePrometheus ForumIt was so wrong!!Jan 15, 2012
This wait is hard....I mean, I am dieing my friend a very slow death...'Alien' is my all time favorite film and I've been waiting some fifteen plus years for Ridley to arrive on his white horse and save us from the likes of he ignorant studio execs who so quickly dragged his world through the mud. Maybe it's silly, but this movie, just the attempt means a lot to me...and I can't believe it's actually happening.
ReplydeadcellPrometheus ForumIt was so wrong!!Jan 15, 2012
well in all hopes maybe this is what ridley needs to do. the last couple of movies he has attempted werent of his calliber. robin hood, kingdom of heaven. i hope we get the old ridley scott, the alien, blade runner, legend ridley scott. hell ill even take the thelma and louise ridley scott
ReplyGehirnPrometheus ForumIt was so wrong!!Jan 15, 2012
Hope "i/it was so wrong" doesn't become like leroy's "least i have chicken". It was "ain't chicken" dang nabbit!!!

ReplydeadcellPrometheus ForumDead Space and Halo NonsenseJan 15, 2012
no problem. i give credit where it is deserved. halo and dead space evoled from doom and everybody knows doom was a mix of aliens and evil dead. case closed. no apeal no parole
ReplyRipley Clone 8Prometheus ForumDead Space and Halo NonsenseJan 15, 2012
UGH I KNOW!!! I've seen it all over since the trailer came out. They have no idea how Ridley Scott's Prometheus and Blade Runner contributed to the science fiction universe. Honestly if they have NO idea what Prometheus is about there probably young kids who've never been educated on the Alien series before or Ridley Scott in general. I've learned to ignore them cause we Alien fans here know the truth God Damnit!!!
ReplydeadcellPrometheus ForumDead Space and Halo NonsenseJan 15, 2012
hopefully when they see the full trailer these kids will know what terror truely is. im tired of the ring, the grudge, scream, and all these godawful remakes of classic horror movies. i want my gothic horror in space back dammit. i want something that really scares me and entertains my sences, not a cg free for all. people nowadays have no idea what a good movie is if were to bite them square on the ass. sorry if i went a bit far but i needed to vent
ReplywalterhillerPrometheus ForumDead Space and Halo NonsenseJan 15, 2012
the reasoning is awful. but the reason is clear. 12 year old kids who've never seen alien. there's more and more of these people with the proliferation of internet.
ReplyRipley Clone 8Prometheus ForumDead Space and Halo NonsenseJan 15, 2012
I completely understand where your coming from deadcell. I think all of us Alien fans need to vent after waiting 15 years for another Alien film. Its been 15 years since the original Alien series has been known to people. Its just like a book thats been sitting around a shelf for years and needs to be dusted off. Most kids i talk to today even young adults have NEVER scene the Alien series or for that matter a Ridley Scott film.
I can't agree with you more about how horror movies now adays are diluted with cgi, ripped off character and story elements from other films and done effortlessly. Scares are more humorous nowadays than horrific and everything horror based is all done on simple jump scares rather than real imaginative horror and original thought. When I can become sucked into the story and I can embrace the horror of a AUTHENTIC horror film thats what does me in. When the characters are emotionally charged and you can feel for them and its not ALL dependent on violence, blood and jump scare tactics thats real horror. What real horror stories and most movies nowadays lack are ORIGINALITY, STORY and honestly MYSTERY. I can't tell you how many movies spoil every good scene through a trailer.
I miss my Alien series and FINALLY after 15 years we get another one. Done only by the infamous and legendary Ridley Scott. The man that started it all. 2 prequels and a revival of what I believe to be THE BEST scifi/horror series in cinema history...THE ALIEN SERIES!! Fuck all the young kids and adults who think they have seen it all. They've seen nothing if they've never seen Alien and they don't know any kind of cinema if they haven't heard of THE Ridley Scott.
ReplydeadcellPrometheus ForumDead Space and Halo NonsenseJan 15, 2012
i want my alien, i want my evil dead, i want my freakin nightbreed and some good old fashioned clive barker, it, god the list goes on and on. kids nowadays are to pc. maybe this will open their eyes to what we grew up with.
and i will thank all of you that see my way of things. the cult b horror movie is such a lost art. maybe if these new hotshot directors will take a class called hitchcok 101 maybe the film industry wouldnt be in the shape its in. i hate to say that its actually inspireing me to write again. hopefully something good comes out of this
ReplycraigamorePrometheus ForumDead Space and Halo NonsenseJan 15, 2012
Ripley Clone 8, deadcell, walterhiller...I needed to vent and you answered the call, thanks.
And I agree Ripley Clone 8, I prefer it when 'its not ALL dependent on violence, blood and jump scare tactics' as well. There's just no substitute for good storytelling, intelligent filmmaking and quality acting in a film that doesn't appeal to the lowest common denominator.
Your also right walterhiller, they probably are just a bunch of ignorant adolescents...but my faith in my fellow man's taste withered away long ago...It's hard to let ignorance slide. You know?
Speaking of quality horror, I must recommend another one of my favorite films...it's a horror flick from France in the 50's called 'Eyes Without A Face'. It has everything we talked about and it doesn't rely on petty gore and blood lust to tell a compelling story...check it out.
ReplydeadcellPrometheus ForumDead Space and Halo NonsenseJan 15, 2012
good call. no prob craigamore we all need a kindred spirit in these times of tribulation and awful motion pictures. the only outlet i have is my dvd collection and maybe a quick read of h.p lovecraft. if your up for it, check out the autonovel of dagon and shadows over innsmouth. best horror ive heard in a long time.but i definatly will search eyes without a face dude.
ReplycraigamorePrometheus ForumDead Space and Halo NonsenseJan 15, 2012
Trust me deadcell....if your willing to read subtitles, it's an amazing film. Also, check out 'La Jetee'...also french. It's the film from the early 60's that '12 Monkeys' is a remake of. VERY cool and quite unique.
ReplycraigamorePrometheus ForumDead Space and Halo NonsenseJan 15, 2012
And thanks for the novel tip. I'm reading the 'Alien' novellization at the moment, but that'll make it into my que.

no prob dude. always up to give props to lovecraft. i actually read the alien 3 novel. better than the movie, but not much lol
