Something Dark, Sinister, Malignant Malevolent and very Evil it looked like to me. The thing in the pic above Looks like some sort of egg with two holes in it's shell, a casing of some sort or a head of some kind.

@Ruhaniya It was someone sitting on a bed. Can't really see who but the way they were acting as if they can't believe what is or has happened.

I went to see Girl w dragon tattoo tonight, NO prometheus trailer. I was a bit pissed. Im in Brooklyn New York. I guess it not everywhere, so suck that.

I have a feeling there will be some very creepy creatures in this movie, but likely [i]not[/i] those we're used to seeing in "Alien" flicks. Haven't the traditional xemomorphs been done to death already?

My all time favourite movie is ALIEN. got all the ALIEN dvds, so lookin forward to this film

@Alien That's a good question Alien...I'm sorry that I don't have a clue. I checked Ebay, and couldn't find it. I bought it when I was twelve years old, from a toy store called CARL'S TOYS, which was a toy store chain...back in the '70s. I haven't seen one in years though. Also, if you keep reading, there's a line a bit later when Kane is in the egg chamber that says that the objects look like the one Dallas saw but closed up instead of open.

If the aliens are analogous to terrestrial insects...which they seem to be, since they go through more than one metamorphosis, a queen could develop from [i]any[/i] egg, based upon environmental changes where it was layed, or pheromones released from other hatched facehuggers, chestbursters, or fully developed "adult" forms. The source of a "queen" alien, isn't necessarily all that mysterious.

i think this is just an odd marketing tactic after watching the leaked trailer that "broke" Tom Rothman's heart a few weeks ago, seeing the Space Jockey's ship ascending vertically into the air, pretty much validated my suspicion that this IS in fact an ALIEN prequel in every sense of the word what is a bit puzzling to me, is why deny that it is...?, much the way Scott seems to have done ever since this film got the green light in any case, i hope this film has a similar impact on me that ALIEN (1979) did, i'm hoping for some truly deep / hardcore sci-fi from Scott and his team, and NOT the same redundant commercial "shoot-em-up" garbage that started from Cameron and all the rest... it's time to make a film that does ALIEN justice, rather than some rip-off that all the films that followed ALIEN seemed to have become

Scoot said some time ago that the Xenomorph/Alien is 'worn out as a shape'. So it was unlikely there was ever going to be the original Alien design in this film & rightly so. I'm sure we'll see aliens of some sort (most likely the Space Jockey) but NO Xenomorphs ;-)

[b]@Spartacus[/b] that is very true in the home setting. More people might get the DVD, or download the film illegally. But in terms of the box office numbers I think PG-13 opens the film up to a larger number of people. At the end of the day FOX is a business. They will be looking for a sound return on their investment, and PG-13 offers them a 'low-risk' option.

I believe that the space jockeys are an ancient race that have difficulty with reproduction. The urns might be holding thousands of their young in stasus, but they are having difficulty with them surviving growth, birth, what ever space jockey's do. So when the humans chance on the space jockey planet they see them as an opportunity to help them reproduce, the egg's may be a product of human and infant space jockey from the urns. Thus It may be that the space jockey's were travelling to Earth to save their race with all of the eggs / urns? Who's to say that the xeno's do not mature into space jockey's?? I can't see the space jockey's being anything but malevolent. They may have created us, but the purpose may not be for anything more than cattle for reproduction.................................

It seems from the stills and leaked trailer we have all seen that something physically happens to Vickers and that something emotionally happens to Shaw. So I say that unless its one of the male characters (repeating the rape of the male psyche a la Alien) then we can pretty much assume it is Vickers. Question is, is she an android or human that becomes something else (post suggestion here). Personally I'm beginning to think that after all these years Theron has finally got a role that proves she can actually act (no offense).

I can't see Ridley going for a pinochio story where an Android turns into a human which has been suggested a few times. But I can buy the story of an android either trasforming into part mechanoid part bilogical creature or giving birth to one. I'm personally thinking that Vickers isn't the second android (if there is one), but a vessel for some sort of birthing experiment either planned by the Jockey's or accidently through human / android intrigue. I am quite intringued by the part of Guy Pearce, which I can find little information for, but the info there is suggests he seems to go through some sort of transformation wearing "heavy prostetics", so is it "space jockey" or "strands of Alien DNA"???

That is a good point... Guy Pearce, what information do we have on his role in the film, I don't even recall seeing him in the leaked trailer.

............ his characters name is Stammers and very little is known, there are hints that he doesn't play a main part in the film and that he has been wearing 'heavy prosthetics' for filming. Can't find any official interview confirming anything other than his character name. All the information seems to come from blogs ...........

Guy PEarce character name is Stannison and the only leaks we have on his character are those two ( and no one is surely reliable ) 1) he should be in heavy Prosthetics 2) he should have a major role ( and that should be confirmed by his name going third in the poster just after Rapace and Fassbender ) we basically dont see clearly any man in the trailer ( only david ) so is difficult to say of hes in the crew or not

Right now we dont know what there can be and what can be not .... there are xenos as we know them from Alien ?? Probably not and maybe yes ...words are few and maybe double faceted , what we know is a pretty reliable source that have said to have saw some "xenos" on the set and ridley that say that there is not the old xeno ( we will call him Luigi ) ...plus maybe the xenos are slightly different and that allow Ridley to say there is not anymore the old xeno . Who knows ! We know it will be not a direct prequel but "probably" the Alien movie will be made possibile to happen in the last 8 minutes of Prometheus . Everything we have saw until now show alot more than DNA strands but is POSSIBLE that the story fly in a total another direction. Everything we have saw until now contraddict a bit everything was said from FOX , Scott or the cast but since we dont know the Synopsis and no one have saw the "bad guys" we have not an idea

My view is that it will be a good thing if this movie is distant from the Alien movies. And I believe it will. All the signs are there. Look at the offical poster no signs of xenos or pulse rifles. A espoke Scott movie would be great. Yes I want the questions answered and the trailer seems to show sj ships crashing and all that. I would be cautious of what I see on the trailer. What is shown in trailer is often left out of the movie (Alien3). So the shots of falling SJ ships my never be seen again.

it would be like the trailer of titanic showing the ship sank and in the movie it arrive safely at the port .... the falling spaceship here look to me a too big and important ( and expensive ) scene to be left out .

well on Imdb someone posted that the trailer will most likely be on wensday. who knows if it is true. P.S. Invader Zim is my favorite show!

It is my belief that the derelict crashing IS the link to Alien, and possibly the only link to Alien. Whether or not the alien itself appears is anyones guess. It has been claimed they were on set but Ridley has stated they are not present in the film, either they were a ruse or Ridley is lying (wouldn't be the first time).

i dont think he lie ..i think he play with words ... i think that the spaceship falling on the lv426 could be the only link with Alien too ...but they would have explained too what there is in the eggs and why ( and why are different from ampules )

less explain more show I think is what we will see... Space Jockey raises up on platform... (maybe eggs shown loading into/already within derelict)... (maybe an egg opening or acid burn near the platform) derelict crashes... before and after this is anyones guess.

Also keep in mind that in the original alien when they are exploring the ship, there are acid burns in the room where the space jockey is leading down to the eggs chamber, I think that needs to be explained as well to form link to alien, that is a big question from original that I don't think will be left to the imagination as to what happened there
