oh wait.. irreversible.. i thought i'd managed to wipe that one from my mind..
Saying don't watch this film will just make people go watch it, but seriously, do not watch this film. Some people say it was brave and pushed the limits, some people say it was experimental, some people say it was a poor excuse for a film. I just thought it was too much
ReplyTec-BPrometheus ForumMy Take on PrometheusDec 18, 2011
I think that any film set in space in the future is based on tech that doesn't exist yet, especially spacecraft propulsion. Also the thing about space is that there's no appreciable friction which means there no requirement for a spacecraft to be constantly burning fuel, only to change direction or accelerate. Newtons laws. Any commrecial venture into space would have to be economically viable. If the price of whatever powers the ship is a premium then there would be no point.

Sorry brother Neurion, but I only stick with the natural non fictional herbal douches that I can not name because I'm on Santas not E list. He ain't comin to my house, I got a gift waiting for him if he does and an nice cold iced T, right Sparky! Good luck with that Greek fire water. Goes good with Reindeer stakes. Oh By the way, I like your new profile pic. It kind helps redouches the confusion of the giant rock head. Before, when you look into his eyes you can't see em but now..The Eye is on. The only thing I would like to see is the starting of the Biomorphing progressing as the PDE reaches the brain: everything becomes cyrstal clear and your seeing 360* sphere and you can go anywhere but just make sure you get back before when wheres off in 15,000 googolplex8 years and don't go in any space elevators without your spacesuit or it won't be like on episode of Saul of the Mole Men.

spartacus i wasnt aiming at you ...i just said about the photo you posted ... and i had to say that those two photos are fake otherwise people will have no more an idea about what is fake and what is real ..
There was nothing against you ...i had to make a statement becuse fake things , fake photos , fake synopsis , personal ideas spread like fire and go often totally out of control and are assumed as real ...
one classic example is a dumb trailer of prometheus that was made on youtube and have millions of views ... and thousands of people thinks is the real thing ( if you remember i had a fight with a guy that went here claiming it was a true trailer )
shake hands ... -.-

I understand Frantz and I am sorry too, i should have done that way better, chosen a different way to express what I was thinking, I apologize and in my own defense wasn't feeling very much love from you lately so I guess I had that in the back of my mind and let it influence my thinking and writting.
I also want to add that I severely shocked by your reply and did not think that was in line with your character to do that...the reply you just posted I mean, I have much respect for people who are quick to deflate personal confrontations in such a respectable manner, that was very Mature and wise of you and I have a new found respect for you for doing it.
I really wish I could be there with you when you see Prometheus before all of the rest of us do...I am just so envious and know that you care as much about this thing as me or anyone else on this planet, maybe even more, and I respect that to, very very much, and truly would just adore to see the expressions on your face when you are watching this thing on behalf of all of us!!!
again My apologies too man...I guess I was being a bit childish and should just have the strength of my own convictions to say nothing at all and let things ride. In the end a persons true intentions always come to light, It was not necessary in retrospect for me to say anything at all...my intentions were simply to help the guy find his picture. I should have just been confident enough in that it was an honorable task I took upon myself to do and stood on it without feeling the need say even a word about it.
In other words it's all good now 'cause learned something valuable from it!!!

ReplyTec-BPrometheus ForumRidley Scott: 'Alien felt epic, but this one is Epic'Dec 18, 2011
don't be so slavish man.. embrace the new and trust in Ridley.
ReplyartyohPrometheus ForumImportant Ridley interviewDec 18, 2011
I'm not bothered by "no xenomorphs" in the least. The original "Alien" was a very good, essentially traditional monster movie that doesn't need a re-tread. Which is potentially far more dangerous and frightening, a single bioweapon, or the advanced intelligence which created it?
ReplyTec-BPrometheus ForumImportant Ridley interviewDec 18, 2011
yeah i agree, definitely don't want a retread of old ground. The xenomorphs and Ripley were done to death, time for aomething new
Reply BiomechanicPrometheus ForumImportant Ridley interviewDec 18, 2011
Xenowho? I'm in this for the spacejockey and the giant head.
ReplyMentosPrometheus ForumImportant Ridley interviewDec 18, 2011
I have no problem with the suit; hopefully we can get a peek inside. As for the Xenos...thank god! We need something fresh!
BUT I don't like the idea that they are merely weapons that got out of control, I'm really hoping they didn't run with that idea.
ReplyartyohPrometheus ForumImportant Ridley interviewDec 18, 2011
The very first thing I wondered about after seeing the original "Alien" back in the day, was: who were the giants and what was their relationship to the xenomorph? The apparent story we're getting ( that they had something to do with our creation ) would never have occurred to me, but I'm glad to finally be getting some answers. I will be a bit disappointed if the "space jockeys" turn out to have a humanoid morphology. I was definitely hoping for something much more bizarre and "alien." Then again, during the intervening decades since the first movie's release, we've seen any number of strange forms in other sci-fi flicks, so maybe this will work, even if the jockeys do look more like something from Jack and the Beanstalk tricked out in space-suits, than Giger inspired monstrosities.

man the moment i read the original script by Spaiths I flipped out and knew it was the real deal ! Everyone thought I was nuts but I LOVED that script. I am glad it got changed/enhanced a bit too so now I will not know what's coming next!!!
Replyalteredstate.Prometheus Forumwhats prometheus official budget.Dec 18, 2011
well thanks for the replies i agree with you both but when some stars can demand the absurd fees of 18+ million then its not really an insult or to question the kind of budget that a film has these days. Bear in mind that Sigourney weaver got 11 million dollars for alien 3 which is a third more again than the cost of the budget for the original film i find it intresting to see what a genius like ridley can do with a substantial budget.
when you consider avatar was 200 million + and transformers 3... 250 million one wonders just what will 100 million do these days .
Im 45 now and was 13 when the original came out and my uncle was on the effects team for the original alien so please dont presume i am naive enough to think that a large budget = a great movie i am just intrested and its a point of intrest as relevant as anything else .
ReplyFrantzPrometheus Forumwhats prometheus official budget.Dec 18, 2011
BTW lets study the prometheus budget a bit better
1) I think Every actor work for Ridley Scott for a little less pay ..plus there are no greedy actors there , Pearce ( one that refused hollywood when he was young , just after LA confidential , to stay with his sister , wife and 2 cats in australia ), Theron and the others would PAY to work for ridley scott . That save to me 30-40 millions
2) Ridleys scott have so many links with ANY branch that is needed to make a movie ..and everyone will work for a little less ...he know where and how save the money
3) there is CGI but not alot ... and CGI today cost alot , more that pratical sets .
4) is enough to say that LOTR had a budget of 93 millions for the first movie , no big actors + wise use of resources + capable people
ReplySpartacusPrometheus Forumwhats prometheus official budget.Dec 18, 2011
I went looking yesterday, on answers for this one, for hours.
The best I got was this...
Ridley asked for $250 Million.
Fox said Make it PG rated and we may give you the money.
Scott said one word..."NO".
Fox said...O.K. think about it some more because we are not giving you $250 Mill for a movie with an R rating @ 14+ or higher...Lindelhof approached fox and told them with his new re-writes they could do this thing for considerably less and apparently the studio agreed with him and cut the budget down to between 100 and 150 Million..except...AND THIS IS A VERY BIG "EXCEPT"...there are now some serious reports including a recently concluded interview with "Empire" magazine which hasn't been printed yet and was leaked yesterday online {got a twitter notice about it}and is still circulating which indicates Scott finished this entire thing on a budget compromise with FOX of $200 million even, and not the 100-150 million that was being reported right up until the trailer leaked cam footage saw the light of day at Thanksgiving.
This is all I have been able to find up until now that is in any way "credible"!!!
The Empire article is due out any day now and in it they do indicate how secretive Scott has been and how he will not let anyone pin him down to an exact number right now, he's apparently keeping the exact number quite secretive at this time.
ReplyMentosPrometheus ForumWikipedia reporting..Dec 18, 2011
The clever money is on the PG13. PG13=larger audience demographic=more $$$. Obviously the question is; will this compromise the scare factor? A L I E N was an R-rated film, so it makes sense that Prometheus should be.
ReplyartyohPrometheus ForumWikipedia reporting..Dec 18, 2011
A PG13 theatrical and "unrated" Blu-ray release would be SOP.
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumWikipedia reporting..Dec 18, 2011
either way it looks like extra dvd content to me...yeeeehaaaaa !!!!
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumWikipedia reporting..Dec 18, 2011
Mentos,
I agree with you on that....However...
Just my opinion here...but...
Making a movie 18 and over makes it more appealing to a 13 year old male...no?
Making a movie PG makes it less so....no...?
"All I am saying is" the entire argument has a massive whole in it's under belly !!!
LOL.
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumWhat Have I MissedDec 18, 2011
not much bro !!!
New interview with Scott, I believe Frantz posted a copy of it, This past Friday he sat down with Empire Magazine as well and that entire interview will be coming out this week , along with, as Frantz also said I believe, the first original trailer for the film. I put up a new PDF in the Memories of Alien Section , the best one I have ever seen of Ridley Scott himself on how he made Alien and GIger on how he created his contributions. You can download it there. Someone discovered that the Derelict is actually upside down and crashing at what appears to be the end of the film in the trailer, Biomechanic came up with some fantastic new theories on what's going on with this film and it's relation to Greek mythology, just kidding, Some one else also posted links to The History Channels Ancient Aliens Series, and we had some great trivia questions and answers go down. I got a little too emotional, but all the newbies kept me in check...lol...that's about it, did I forget anything guys...?...

im not sure its even a woman to be honest ... can be each of the three girls but also the oriental guy ... the legs dont look like the ones of a woman to me ( quite deformed too ) ..
btw the main candidate should be Noomi ( but is dont see how someone can survive something like that :p ) because we saw her in a cryogenic tube and in distress .
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumIs this Vickers???Dec 18, 2011
There is a scene in the trailer in which we see her for just a second and either she is being ripped apart and eaten alive or stressing out over something she is seeing, inside the ship, in a shot just like the one above.
I suspect underneath all of that cover, it IS in fact her.
I suspect now that something may not be right with my saying she is 100% a Robot, I think what might be is that SHE gets infected by the Engineers, and that it changes her personality, that she starts to "become" one of Them... that what she is saying She "was so wrong" about is the Ampules themselves and that she was wrong to think it would be OK to bring one or more back to the ship for the best scientific interests of their mission, only to then quickly discover just how big a word "Payback" is to these entities!!!
