I don't really count the AVP movies as prequels or even canon as they seem to take alot of liberties with the true canon. If there is to be any kind of decent AVP movie, then there should be a movie version of the novels "Prey" & "Hunters Planet". At least pretty much everything in those stories was canon.

Hi Snorkel, I like it, but I'm not certain of a pinoccio plot involving David. From the pics it's clear that Vickers is either pregnated with something after coming in contact with the liquid or transforms. I'm thinking both but the creature that comes from her is the xenomorths that we know. I think it's going to be very airy and creepy for most of the film, I doubt we'll see the space jockeys or anything else until Ridley's built a lot of suspense. I think the jockey on the floor will be either a suit left there or something long dead before the prometheus crew discovers the planet.

The Pinocchio plot was actually part of the fake synopsis leaked a couple of weeks back. Snorkle's only incorporating the ideas that are floating about in the virtual realm and coming up with his own interpretation. The leaked synopsis has been heavily rejected by Fox staff - to be fair I'm perfectly happy for the damn thing to be kept secret till June. An HD trailer would be nice though...now maybe? lol

Here's what I heard about that, The Giant Head {and again this just what I heard form a pretty reliable source if I recall correctly} Is what Powers Prometheus, it is intended to be a "Biomechanical Head" and the Growers{ sorry, "Engineers"} supposedly power these ships with their minds, as Spaihts suggested very early, 2nd or 3rd page I think of the script he pitched to Ridley Scott's Production Company.

I always assumed that Prometheus was the name of the humans ship, so are you saying that the Prometheus is possibly the name of the Engineers ship?? It looks more of a gaurdian or monument to me. Seems a little odd that the Engineers if they are not human would choose to have a human head piloting their space ships.

I just thought Of something else. What I wrote above does not work if it is The "Promehteus" ship we are speaking of so maybe Scott and Lindelof changed that idea to it being how the "ENGINEERS" power THEIR ships. That would make more sense to me at this point.

Just another suggestion: The head could be a label for that particular cave, that it contains stuff applicable to the human race as opposed to the races they may have also tinkered with. I could see the space jockey being a kind of Prometheus from Greek mythology, who aided humans against the gods wishes. But I also thought I read it was the name of the earth ship.

Prometheus has been confirmed as the name of the humans ship. It features in the recent but brief Ridley Scott interview in Entertainment Weekly recently.

I think Prometheus is a small science expedition and Megellan is full of people in stasis, maybe colonists.

i thought it was already pushed back to the 12th? ugh sighs i wonder if the genius execs. at fox decided to delete some scenes from the trailer due to the leak. its so annoying that there has been so much leaked footage for the Dark Knight Rises and there were no repercussions. but we get a lousy minute of beyond blurry footage where its hard to make out anything & fox gets their panties in a bunch & punishes the fans.......makes perfect sense

Perhaps Shaw in her youth has the first Earth hampster that evolves special mind control powers and shows her where to look for the space jockeys Earth temple. Long dead Shaw has a hampsters foot on a necklace around her neck that she uses as her faith in the hampster god. When travelling accross space and time to find these Hamster gods she finds something much worse. Freddy Star.....................lol

In the original leaked trailer with no soundtrack - there was some odd looking fluffy-thing peaking out in a couple of frames. It was refered to as either space-cat or new breed lol...feedback tends to think it's not a cat, but probably something furry...a space-hamster? lol

although I wouldn't mind seeing that action video of Charleze Theoron with the 2 Giant Hampsters. But on a more serious note how about the theory that they are there to amuse the colonists like pets sorta.

Justin Fishers very famous "Alien TotalConversion {"TC"} wad file for the game Doom? many years ago when it first came out I would spend hours letting it just run in demo mode like a screen saver on my PC...if you haven't seen it I just checked and the files are easily re-aquired for free today to do it, I just did, and it is so awesome to see those images again.
