This is the central question to the entire series of movies. How did the company know of the Alien? If that question does not get answered the entire series is meaningless. It is even a more important question, than were did the Alien come from, because that is the entire point of the first movie. The crew of the Nostromo were probably the most unprepared group of misfits out there. Ripley was the only one compenent one. You had an unsure captain, an overzealous first officer (perfect host), a navigator who just wanted to get home and turns into a nervous wreck, two engineers who only cared about a paycheck and a traitor who knows everything. When you watch Alien again watch the scene were Dallas informs the crew they are "going in", but watch Ash only. Ian Holm plays it brilliantly you can tell just by looking at him that he knows what is going on. I also contend that there was NO real signal from the ship. I bet you the company planted it in Mother. Special Order 937 stated that the Nostromo was to be rerouted to new coordinates. Mother told Dallas that she picked up a signal, a lie. Then the signal is never heard of again in Alien (after Ripley kind of breaks it down) and is never mentioned in Aliens. Plus the contract specifically stated the crew would lose their shares if they didn't investigate the signal. A perfect set up. In Aliens, when Ripley tells the company that they homed in on its signal, the company lady ignores the comment and makes no mention of it. What does Parker say, this is a commercial ship not a rescue ship, so of course the company set the whole thing up. Someone asked why not send a crew of androids. The answer is because Ash needed to study how the creature hunted and killed its living pray. The Alien most likely would not have concerned itself with Ash since it probably thought of it like another machine, and would not take hostile action unless it attacked. Also, its very doubtful that the facehugger could react to a machine. The central question is.... How did the company know of the Alien before it sent out the Nostromo?

Yeah I hear ya Spartacus I am really obsessed about just seeing some type of moving footage about this movie. I feel like Brett and Jermane on Flight of th Conchord as they were eagarly awaiting for Murry to bring them some new styling gel after seeing the leaked pictures. I guess its just a matter of time. I am happy that Ridley Scott did not attach it to In Time. That movie was as dull as a oatmeal cookie.

Bio, Do what I do. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, take it with a grain of salt and move on, because in the end the only opinion that matters is yours. All opinions are derived from a belief or idea about something. I think its good seeing differing opinions, when I see them it helps me re-evaluate my opinion and see if there is anything I can do to improve upon it. Just a suggestion, nothing more. Bio, I can agree with that completely. I don't think Spart was meaning it like that, but I can understand how it can be read that way. I'm not defending him, yet I agree with what he was saying that we are spoiled in many many ways and are blessed to be born here. The majority of the world isn't and is impoverished. I think he meant that us as American's who have things relatively good here should walk a mile in someone else's shoes who are in Somalia, N. Korea and etc. We would see things rather differently than we do now because we haven't lived life outside this country. LMAO Both Giger And Scott Were Clearly Sexually obsessed during the making of the first film, and both will admit it outright! All of Giger's Paintings on which the original film was conceived and shot by Scott, were of a sexually provocative nature and with regard to those images designed specifically for the first film, were done for the sole purpose of making MEN SQUIRM when watching the film. It was Gigers Mantra in life and Scotts during the entire shoot of Alien in which he kept the Giger Creation "Necronomicon" in his hands or under one of his arms...again, he did this during every single minute of the films production, if he didn't have the book under his arm, he wasn't working and therefore you weren't allowed to approach or speak to him on the set.

Yup..I had a copy of Giger's work then I got divorced and never saw it again...most unfortunate and she took my Aliens Qaud set...ugh but I do have the Blu rays now...sorry to change course, Alien has been in my life since I was 7 and got me through film school...Your right on Spart...Giger is very sexual in his designs as I imagine in Prometheus we will see much more than he had place in Alien, probably bigger vaginas...ya know, lol....

Hey Guys.....Think this is supposed to be about Prometheus or something along them lines. Can't we all just get along? :P On a serious note. I think the occupy wall street is a Powder Keg. Things have been off kilter for a very long time. It's great that people are standing up for what they believe in its at the core of our country. It will be a learning hurdle in our countries growth if things with "Occupy" get larger and more serious, hopefully something positive will come from it, and big government gets knocked down a peg. Ruh, You would love a Torus. It's a Circle within a Circle, neither having a start nor a finish and go on inifinitely. I can create the Facebook page. Under Artist Band or Public Figure they have Actor/Director, Fictional Character, Public Figure (I picked these 3 for relevance). Did he actually get any screen time in the movie? Because he's one of the 3. My old dvd anthology is in storage and I haven't gotten the new blue ray anthology yet. So I don't know. I would say check the cafeteria, and when they load in and Hudson is making an ass out of himself to Ripley on the drop, you get a good panned view of everyone.
