I agree with I Moon Girl to a point...
It was grown to a degree the same as a Mammal Birth, and so Birth would have maybe been something im sure HR Giger would have been proud of ;)
But i think the Trilobite started to grow at a very fast rate, even appearing to be pushing upon her Tummy/Stomach as she was in the Med-Pod.
so i would assume the Organism would have Grown to such a size that normal birth would maybe not have happened and instead her Womb would simply had ended up not being big enough to contain the size of the growing Trilobite prior to its natural Birth.
And so we would have got a Belly Burster which would have been Horrific...
Its one thing i think they should have done with Alien Covenant, i would have had it that Karine (Orams Wife) was the one infected with the Spore or even Black Goo, while she was Pregnant and then have her accompanied to the Med-Bay by Ledwood only for her to then Belly Burst a Hybrid...
That would have been much more gruesome.
Black Bone is an epic masterpiece!
This artwork reminds me of another French graphic artist from 3MMI Design. My band awhile back were contemplating purchasing one of his images for an album cover (that is what he specialises in)

The Alien franchise is in the best state it's ever been in. Covenant is better than all the previous movies, so Ridley Scott should just make the sequel he wants to make
I think David sent it. I think David was recording Shaw without her knowing. The reason why could be because he's attracted to her. After all, she did put him back together.
Another reason it could've been recorded was that Shaw was hitting a lot of buttons in the hologram we saw of her. I wouldn't be surprised if she hit a few buttons by accident and turned on the recording by accident as well.
Or maybe the ship records things automatically, like a black box, but with visuals. We can assume this in Prometheus when the Engineers are running down the corridor. The evidence is, "Why would anybody record that and even if they wanted to, how could they when they are apparently trying to escape something?"
If we take any of these as the truth, I would say David just edited some footage to replay so he could send it out to attract the Covenant crew. So, the footage could easily have been very much longer, but David just edited it so that it would be attractive to human curiosity, yet mysterious enough not really show much in answers.
I theorize that David sent the clip we see in A:C to attract the Covenant ship to Planet 4 as it passes nearby, just like how David knew it would. David is very smart. I wouldn't trust him either. I honestly think David altered the Covenant ship's travel path to pass by Planet 4. All he needed was some bait. I think the holograms were "black box" recordings and all David had to do was sift through them and edit a clip he thought was fit for the situation, or maybe just one that he liked. He does like things too.
Poor old FOX, they don't have the best track record for marketing their products appropriately...
its amazing how badly Fox screwed up Joss Whedon's Firefly
The original premiere of Firefly was promoted with the Smash Mouth song, Walking on the sun......... o_0
IRaptus Like Oram and Karine, they're an interracial couple, although Karine and Oram get separated and are much older. Upworth and Ricks are around the same age and are consistently the voice of reason. They keep Tennessee in check, which adds to the couple's symbolism. The fact that they die having sex is also probably meaningful. Oram is religious, as a contrast to Upworth and Ricks, and Karine isn't villainous but her and Oram are depicted as mildly exploitative at the beginning of the film. I wish to stress though that Oram and Karine aren't villains or antagonists whatsoever, and in fact are depicted as noble and professional individuals, but the inclusion of the mid exploitation after Branson's death might be construed as the movie trying to distinguish between Oram and Karine as one interracial couple and Upworth and Ricks as another
trokanmariel that is a fascinating possibility! But im confused as to the specific symbolism and "evolution" that you are referring to for that couple?
As far as I'm aware they are just an ordinary couple, much like all the others on the ship. They just happen to have specialist/technical roles that require them to stay on the ship.
I don't think David sent it, as 1) the distress beacon was Shaw singing a John Denver song, and 2) when Oram and co. found the source and the "holograms" were emanating from where Shaw was sitting, there were no holographic figures that resembled David.
Yeah, if it grew any larger than it did, Shaw probably would've had internal bleeding.
I assume she would've birthed a human birth. The alien was in a placenta, like a human as well. I'm not sure what triggers contractions in child birth nor to I know much about child birth. Still, the fetus was similar to a humans except that there was an alien involved instead of a human.
I did some very quick research and couldn't find a direct answer on what starts contractions, but it is started by a chemical that gets released. How the body knows to release that chemical, I am not sure.
Shaw's Trilobite was very large when she took it out of her, so I would assume the body would treat it like a regular baby. So I would also expect her contractions would start soon. It was very smart for her to remove that baby. There would be no telling how big it could get before being pushed out of Shaw's body. I would assume, though, that the alien would only get as big as a normal human baby before the body starts its contractions.
I think David sent out the distress beacon. He states in the movie that he would do to Daniels what he did to Shaw. I think this leaves the door open for the next movie to explore, and I think would explain why the transition from Prometheus to AC has this gap in events as to what exactly happened to Shaw.
It's likely that Shaw survived for a number of months after the crash. If the pictures Daniels found were post-crash, that would confirm this to be the case. The implication is that Shaw found pictures of herself, became frightened and then was attacked by David. This would mean that Shaw lived with David for a while in the city, which in itself is weird to think about; it's actually reminiscent of 1997's Batman & Robin, because in that film Barbara Wilson never talks to Bruce Wayne. The lack of communication between Barbara and Bruce seems to be symbolic, and represents a type of social intelligence that Alien Covenant illustrates with its treatment of Shaw's history with David
Both are fantastic pieces of artwork; the artwork isn't necessarily troublesome, but it helps reduce the sense that the Alien universe is metaphorical
I agree that it was logical for people to stay onboard, but with Tennessee also being onboard it creates the opportunity to interpret Upworth and Ricks as symbolic. Tennessee's presence means that the symbolism gets hidden by the story, as if the film is trying to hide its symbolism. For what it's worth, I think Alien Covenant is a much better film than Aliens
Also, I want to point out that Faris and Tennessee, Karine and Oram, and Daniels and Branson are all opposites to Upworth and Ricks; each of the three preceding couples get separated, whereas Upworth and Ricks are never separated at any time, even dying together, and both naked. This feels too convenient to be a coincidence. Even more evidence stems from David's initial appearance, having the long blonde hair and stubble. His initial appearance is evolutionary, like Upworth and Ricks have their own spiritual appearance. David is at one physical end of the story, being based at the temple, and Upworth and Ricks are based at the opposite end of the story, on the Covenant ship
Pretty much agree with this video although I still enjoy AC. The biggest deal to me was around the 5:40 mark when he called BS on having to wait for another installment for answers or be required to read outside material to get it- a movie should be self contained.
@hox
Yea, I thought when David and Shaw's juggernaut connected with the mother juggernaut was a bit to normal. The ship's front just bumped into the mother juggernaut. I more penetrating connection would have been better like you describe.
Ripley- Once the thought...the hope for it...grows here...but it's found its way. It will come, because...they will bring it. Bring it forth.
(been busy I Moon Girl- sorry).
Is that the scene when the Xenomorph was grabbed by the crane on the Lander? The resemblance is uncanny!
Some nice talent on show there. But I don’t like the repeated orthogonal juggernaut motif. It’s really not so spooky as Giger’s original.
if I had a bit of artistic talent, I’d like to create a ‘male’ version of the juggernaut, complete with a triple phallus. But I can’t ever see Fox creating a craft like that, slipping seductively into the embrace of Giger’s juggernaut. Gotta worry about prime time US broadcasts where you can’t even show a female nipple, ffs. But it would certainly be true to Giger’s sexualised imagery.
I theorized that Origae-6 would look similar to a wasteland. The shot he did shows that I'm not the only one that thinks that.
So, is this after humans settled it or is that thing alien architecture or some form of alien transportation?
No. Somebody had to stay onboard, is all. Unlike the daft arrangement in Aliens, where they put all their eggs in one basket.
I do wish that some of the CGI wasn't used so much. Most of it was good, but there were maybe a handful of scenes which looked fake. Not a bad fake, but fake nonetheless. It interrupted the story for me because I realized that the graphics team could have done a better job.
trokanmariel Keen mind your for having pointed to a critical scene in comparison to those who have underestimated . The Concept I agree , as if it were a small taste of the future . being able to imagine that the ship is Origae-6 and the torque equals the population . the extinction of engineers is supposed that occurs in this way , all unaware of the danger they are overwhelmed by these creatures .
"Au Revoir Shoshanna"

Thank you for the compliment. and yes im of the same mind, i still feel the xeno was better a ancient creature
Discover the Engineer-like structures in the image NeoTerya - Proto-City.
Dark Nebula - Glad you like it, as for Ridley, yes, Maxime creates breathtaking images, going to share some...
I have some interest in watching it but there is so much disappointments in both AC and Prometheus so I will continue to stay skeptical. They should really think about where they want to go with the story so we won't get another Prometheus or AC.
When first posted I did not read all the posts just the most recent ones before I decided to express idea I have read a handful more since and have a few thoughts on spaceship battle AC/Xeno origins first I would say ship to ship battles probably not a good idea for the prequel series tie in because this needs to be more about character , science and Q&A then action spectaculars right now let's not let the series grow a new found integrity then blast it out to space but a two or three movie spinoff trilogy about a secret war with the Engineers fighting each other or galactic species could be a awesome foundation for ship to ship and even massive planet battle ground battles hell they could even fix the Alien Resurrection movie by discounting it and starting fresh with the galactic war Ripley clone soldier approach when and if they intend to go that far down the timeline again these battles could and probably would be insanely cool butt I personally would shelf that for later and as far as AC go's what if when David got to the planet he found research , testing and ideas for breeding and weapons the Engineers intended on creating and using and David collected thier research added his science and efforts to it and came up with what we were delivered in AC as far as the Morphs go and Davids ego maybe decided to claim their ideas for himself or even destroying that evidence only leaving his research to be discovered in AC basically the Xenomorph could have already been in existence at one point but different then Davids creation and it was killed by Engineers when they saw what it was and the uncontrollable threat it is or maybe they never got to finish what they started so David took it upon himself to do so and for all we know the Xenomorph is more ancient than we know this is why I enjoy expanded united movies so much because it never ends when the credits role you start to think and ponder and discussions are born ideas more embraced and that is why I love Prometheus because it took a great franchise and made it so much more as far as AC goes everyone is always hating but something this big always have mistakes and achievements and look at MarvelCinematicUniverse or any other for that matter not all there movies are good he'll most of the DC Universe sucks Ridley Scott and Fox will work there mistakes out and from Prometheus and AC they will create great things
"This sentence is about the fact that there are people (including you?) who don't want more people to watch AC. Members and other readers can understand this sentence, they don't need me to explain it better."
No it is not, once again you misunderstand me. What I mean is that it is like some animated show were they have things doing surreal crap. It is almost like someone gave that weather cloud a conscious so it could decide what ever it would like to do. It is almost like the weather deiced like "what shall I do today (heavily bored)... let's go f shit up!" To me that almost felt like a surreal animated movie with some slightly bizarre things happening that is what made me laugh not the fact that less people could watch it or that it probably cause many people some serious trouble. The head-line made me laugh because of how it was written not that it made less people watch AC (!).
As far as the claim that I don't want people to watch AC is kind of irrational. I watched it four times and I am not a huge fan of it but sure people can check it out if they want to.
NotoriousShorty No, the Engineers shouldn't be exactly the villain. I agree on that.

Ridley, hire Maxime for the sequel!
Thanks for sharing this.
Making the Engineers completely menacing and evil/bad guy like is not the right way to go because to make this chapter of the universe as well as the universe in whole more interesting and progressive in its story telling we need to see the Engineers as good guys or neutral at certain points of the story to really feel attached to the science , emotion and story but having different groups , clans or states within the species that over the existence of the species have disagreed , dissolved and disappointed there culture and beliefs so that there are good and bad engineers based on politics , religion and power that causes rogue actions like the theory that the alien wall in Prometheus stands for crucifying part of the species and there leader that went its own way or turned on the human race and was stopped by its own there are endless ideas and possibilities but I don't think it should go way of totally menacing then it feels like we are just replacing Xenos with Engineers as for Prometheus and Covenant I enjoy both films I like that Prometheus has helped Alien be more than just action/horror but Covenant lets you stray just long enough that while you know it has to do with Prometheus it's more traditional and keeps you hungry for more story you could just think of AC as a spinoff film that happened around the same time/years the Prometheus trilogy was or will happen and Prometheus is a cross roads film and the start to the film universe where you watch and think if I go left I will run into AC and if I go right I will continue on to watching Prometheus 2
Lawrence of Arabia - 'I can't wait for more news on Covenant 2'
Oh, yes, the same here, but I don't like the title Awakening, I hope they'll change it.
I can't wait for more news on Covenant 2, thank David we have the Origin novel coming out soon lol
The Ovomorphs are beautiful!
I knew that Fox would say something about the future of the franchise after the Japanese first weekend.
And now I believe that Scott will inform us about the AC sequel after the Blade Runner 2049 premiere. Exciting months are coming…
But it’s actually actor Michael Fassbenderplaying a pair of A.I. units—the platinum blond David and the mousier brunette Walter—who is the new “Ripley” of this series. “It’s the A.I. that’s the real connective tissue of this franchise,” Waterston observes. “People keep saying I’m the Ripley. I’m not. It’s Fassbender.”

Not exactly in Scott's words but this pretty much sums it up. Covenant was meant to shed Prometheus in a new light with this revelation.
