Good idea! There is a future opportunity there SOMEWHERE- I just don't know how or what. I would also seek out Lone. She digs stuff like this but I have not seen her in a while.

I would not mind a soft re boot whatever that is. What I would not want to see is the original movie redone with a new cast with new actors portraying Ripley, Dallas, Brett etc. That would be utter blasphemy.

Lol, unfortunately no, I wish I'd taken some, though. I did slice a couple of pieces off the back of the Xeno's head and eat them.

Actually, it didn't look as satisfying as you might hope because inside the Xeno was just solid white. I mean...I don't know what I expected...brains?...Acid blood?

But, it definitely looked best/most realistic/most gory before being sliced.

Are there pics of the debauchery of the work of art? 

I imagine better to mount the scene than be mounted by the scene- but that is just my opinion.

But indeed the Franchise has opened doors...

We have the Xenomorph for sure..

But we also have the Engineers, their History, Agenda and Hierarchy and what else have they created.

We have the company and what else do they get up to, and we could explore the history and conflict between Weyland-Yutani.

We have the Androids and could tie these in with Tyrell if we wanted a cross over.

And we have the Colonial Marines, as surely going around doing Xenomorph Bug Hunts is the only thing they ever do or have ever done.

So indeed plenty to explore and expand that does not have to be Alien Eggs, Queens and Ripley.

Its a shame my Medical/Health Condition effects my motivation and energy and concentration to work on Projects anymore.

As i had TWO Alien Movies that were different...

One Movie was a Parallel story set around the same time of Alien-Aliens, where a Mining colony was set up on a far away Moon, and a incoming Haulage Ship is on the way to bring more Equipment to be able to Mine a Thick Rock/Metal like area the Mining Company can not breach.

This ship introduces us to a new Crew, they arrive and set up the new Machinery that breaks though the Tough Wall of a Cave, and uncovers a Nest of Cocoon like things hanging from the Ceiling.   Some of the Crew get infected, and this leads to a different kind of Organism that i intended to look a bit more like the Fresco from Prometheus.....  The crew also discover a Dead Engineer.  Latter they blow up the Cave, that then reveals behind it a Juggernaught  where they awaken a Engineer, who gets infected and kills a few Humans, and gets Chest Busted with a slightly different Organism.

In the end the few survivors decide to Nuke the Place that causes a Volcano, and this covers the area of the Cave and Juggernaught.

The Working Title for this was  ALIEN: ASCENSION  and so was a tease at maybe where the Engineers discovered the first Origins to the Xenomorphs.

The other Project i started work on was a Parallel Movie to Alien Resurrection.

where the Failed Ripley 7 Queen is sent to another Outpost with Successful Ripley 8 DNA

This Outpost was a Weapons Facility where they was creating Super Soldiers by using Genetic Engineering making 6ft6" 280LB  Humanoid Killing Machines, these experiments had problems.  This outpost then receives the dead Failed Queen 7 and Engineer its DNA to produce a Cloned Hybrid, Part Queen and Part Human.  This Procreates some more different Organisms, that i envisioned not to different to how the Neomorphs ended up like. 

This causes a Outbreak as these can mutate Humans into like Fifield Mutant Zombies, that battle the Companies own Hybrid Human Zombies,  but the Marines and the companies Super Soldiers proved to be no Match for the other Xenomorph Organisms.

At the same time they used early on cloning of Ripley 8 but i left it open to debate do i bring back Ripley 8 but then how do you explain the Age?   a Mutation occurs? so her Skin is not fully formed?

Or i was going to have them use Ripley 8 DNA with Human Genome to create another Super Solider, and its this that takes care of the Xenomorph and Queen... when i say Queen it was more like the alternative New Born

Its off spring being a fresh take on these Alien R concepts

But also incorporate color and some style from the Alien R Newborn... the idea that was in my head was not to far from what a Neomorph was like.

These would be born directly from Egg Sacks the Cloned Failed Queen 7 would give birth too.... and quickly grow..

These off spring would inject hosts with a Proboscis that mutated Males into like Fifield Monsters, and Females would instead Mutate but also start to give birth to the same Organisms the Failed Queen 7 clone did.

so it introduced a New Life Cycle.

The working Title was ALIEN: RESURGENCE

I only had a broad set of a ideas for these, no more than 5-6 Pages Each... which i was going to then Evolve into a Draft of some kind.

I posted about these about 2 years or more ago, on here as that was when i was working on the ideas.... i think indeed these provide something more Fresh.

But i feel FOX and RS now think that Ripley needs to be brought back, the only way this would work would be to go Blomkamps Route of a Alternative Sequel Timeline to Aliens, but have it set 30 years after Aliens... where Miss Weaver does not have a massive Role and have her Pass the Torch onto maybe a Newt Character....

However, i would like to see them cover a sequel to the Alien Franchise set after Alien Resurrection, or a Parallel Movie within the Franchise that can do something Fresh...

I feel doing Sequels that cover Xenomorphs and Queens will appeal for one Nostalgia movie the same goes for Blomkamps Alien 5, but then a follow up that shows the Xenomorphs and Queen etc would just loose its Charm... the Beast is Sadly Cooked and now gets a risk over Over Cooking.

Indeed some did think it was FAKE due to supposed Sources, i cant say if the reports are true or not....

All i can say is if we look at it from FOX's POV then indeed there is a lot to consider, the Prequels did open up a lot of New Things which had not settled down well with many.

Inc the Human looking Space Jockey Engineers, the no Xenomorph answers or Monsters in Prometheus...  So FOX U-Turned due to Reaction and also the Hype that Alien 5 was getting.

So they gave us Xenomorphs, to a degree, not enough for some Fans, and for some the way they looked, how they was shown and other changes (Fast Gestation and Chest Burster) did not please some fans... Then Fans was disappointed that the Crazy Robot David created the Xenomorphs.

Yet some fans complained we never got Answers from Prometheus, and how Dr Shaw was handled and the Engineers, so FOX will maybe be thinking... "Hang on... we thought these was things Fans did not want to see, hence giving them Xenomorphs"

so its a tricky route to go now...  how do they please those who dont like David Character and the heavy influence on AI, what about how he created the Xenomorphs...    Do they bring in the Engineers more, but would this upset fans who was no pleased with how Prometheus introduced them.

so FOX really do have a lot to think about, and FOX are not in the Game of Throwing Money at Stuff,  i mean Alien Covenant had over $30M less spent than Prometheus and considering Inflation thats a Good $45M equivalent spent... when really they should have been investing MORE and not LESS

I think there are a lot they are thinking about in Hindsight, and in Hindsight they may feel the First Prequel.. Prometheus should have had more Alien Connections.

Its how do they try and please all the fans.... its hard to say and they certainly cant take a chance of backing $100-130M on a Sequel and have it rake back less than $300M and reacting to disappointment by backing a Hash Cut Price Budget Sequel is a Bad Idea (See AVPR)

So i think my Original Post does touch upon the kinds of things FOX must be asking themselves.

They cant just ignore the next movie.... well they could... but this would feel a let down to those who enjoyed Prometheus.. they could have another movie set as a different angle on a Prequel where they find the aftermath of David and what ever happened to the Colonist and Covenant Mission..

And they discover a whole host of Eggs, and Dead Colonists and a Dead Android Corpse.... But surely doing to David what they did with Dr Shaw is not  the best choice.... But its something we cant rule out.

They could cover a Plot like above as a Parallel one, where a W-Y ship arrives at the derelict Origae-6 and Eggs, and all the Eggs are destroyed but the Company find out some Engineers had taken some to LV-223/426 area.... which sets up ALIEN.

While this would be more of a Re-hash of Aliens but set on Origae-6 i dont think it would be the best way to handle the franchise.

The Problem is if they follow events that predate the event that leads to the Derelict and this event is connected to events that happen after David arrives at Origae-6 and so the then do a movie that directly follows David and how those TWO Face Huggers lead to Thousands of Eggs.

If this does not directly give enough Clues or even a Spoon Fed Ending that leads to ALIEN, but a ending that means we need another movie to get to this... 

If the next movie goes this route above and Flops, then FOX are in a Sticky Situation as far as they have invested and set up a series of Prequels to lead to Alien... and they surely have to Finish it off with a 3rd movie... which will get FOX worrying.

Dont Worry i THINK they have a Secret Plan for the 3rd Movie to Sell that IDEA...

Make the 3rd movie a Ripley Connection Movie... yeah!!!!! NOPE! as i stated on a few Topics the Time-Lines would not add up and i think investing in Ripley as to Connect the Prequels to HER STORY is a Bad Idea.

Because if this goes down Well for the Fanboys.... then surely that means another Movie with Ripley and i just wont be able to buy a Ripley De-Aged in any Prequel or even Alien Sequel..

Especially when you consider the $$$$$$$ it would cost, look at Tarkin from Rogue One and T-800 from Terminators last outing... Expensive and not quite Perfect and also limited Screen Time.

I do FEAR FOX will Panic and bring back Ripley and even spend a Good $30-40M on CGI overlay on her and not much left to spend elsewhere..

Ripley Died in Alien 3 IMO ;)

Right i will try and contribute to this Topic, but this could be a mess because i am like a Brainless Zombie at the Moment :( So i cant concentrate much and feel drained all the time, hence lack of activity for a week.  But Zombie Meds are Drs Orders :(

I know there has been a few Topics and News about regarding the Future of the Franchise, and some are pointing to FOX having to rethink the Future..  I think this does not mean they will not make another movie.. i think they are assessing do they MAKE THE NEXT ONE... Tie up most of the Lose Ends to Alien.

They do not want to end up going a 2 sequel route to get to Alien and then have the next Stage Alien Awakening  Bomb Badly or even disappoint as much as Alien Covenant did, this is in terms of reception and amount of Profit made.

Making a AA that leads open to another sequel just as how AC is leaving it open for another Sequel... Puts FOX in a difficult postion.

They surely can not ignore AC and Proceed with a different Prometheus Sequel, or even a Rebooted Prequel that ignores Prometheus and Alien Covenant... But this approach is not totally out of the Question.  But its likely they cant leave the end of AC how it is and how it has shown David and the Black Goo from Prometheus has lead to the Start of the Xenomorph and that David and his Creation are hinted to link to Alien.

They cant just by-pass a direct Alien Covenant Sequel that follows what happened to David and the Colony Ship Covenant...  But then again they can pull a AC... in that they can have AA set after David has set up shop on Origae-6 or where ever they are going and not cover the 7 year events between.

But they simply cant just ignore AC, and give us a movie that does little or nothing to cover David, the Covenant, the Colonist and Davids Experiments.....

BUT HERE IS THE PROBLEM...

with the Reception AC got, and some complaints for various things, FOX are surely now re-assessing how to take the Franchise to connect to ALIEN if the journey from AC to Alien means that AA has to cover David and the Covenant and his Creation but would still need a 3rd MOVIE to tie to Alien..

The Problem is if this next movie Alien Awakening Fails to do well and even worse if it fails to match Alien Covenant as far as how disappointing it did... Then it SIMPLY leaves them DEAD AND BURIED...   The only options then would be Avoid the Franchise and Re-boot it down the road which would be a bit Silly, as they have to Stick to their Guns with the Journey they wish to now take... otherwise the other TWO Options are to again,  Have Faith, try and learn from mistakes and invest again in another Potential 3rd movie FLOP.  Which if AA fairs no better than AC, then the risk is that the 3rd and Final Jigsaw to Piece it all together to Alien, will likely not succeed either and FOX would have Wasted Years and $$$ Millions on a Flop Alien Prequel.

so continuing the Story from AC to AA that then needs another movie is a bit of a gamble considering how disappointing AC was.

The Other Option would be to cover a Movie next that directly Ties to ALIEN and so covers a lot of the ideas they would have for the 3rd Alien Prequel movie, but in a way that leaves it open for a 3rd movie to actually cover the events after AC

This ^^^ could seem a more logical step, but if this Movie Flops then depending what its showed as far as the lead up to Alien, and any Questions relating to David, Engineers, and LV-223 and Paradise etc... if there are Questions left that seemed they needed a movie set Prior to Answer them  (i.e what Alien Awakening maybe is intended to be) then we get again a bit of a disappointment of missing any Gaps.   Should they decide to Pull the Plug after going a more direct Alien Tie in movie that leaves Questions remaining from Prometheus, AC and what happens a lot between 2104 and 2122.

Hmm. This seems like a good time to test the concept for a possible launch abroad in October for Halloween (at least in the States).

joylitt just a cleaner image perhaps? The theatrical release poster is a bit too busy and cluttered for a thumbnail/small image.

The home release poster is nice, vibrant, clear-cut with a very distinguishable Xeno.

I think the Original Poster was misleading and not connected to the Movie, so this is a Good Move.

Honestly, it means nothing to me personally. As long as I get the BR, IDC what the cover looks like. It is only something to house the disc.

Indeed anyone can come along and Troll on any kind of Rating Board/Site includes FOOD and Hotels like Trip Advisor and just give 1* to bring the ratings down... but then some can Anti-Troll if you will and give 5*

My rating of AC is 60/100, its a bit of a mixed movie for me, there are parts that would lead me to give it a 8/10 but others that i would give it 4/10 so a 6/10 is fair from me.

Prometheus i rate as only 6.7/10 but its got so much of a Big Plot and Questions and Ambiguity that its discussing and delving into the Movie and what it tries to cover that makes it one of the Most Watched Movies by myself.

When i get the Blu-ray with Digital Copy i will be watching Alien Covenant a number of times and maybe it too will grow on my like Prometheus did.

While observing the beautiful posters, don't forget that you can own the movie on Digital HD from August 1 / on Blu-ray and DVD from August 15.
