Alien: Romulus continues to draw in the crowds! The fifth Alien installment managed to maintain a strong position during its second weekend at the box office, earning the Fede Alvarez picture a take of over $225 million! Overseas, Alien: Romulus is even more popular, with the film dominating the Chinese box office - positioning itself as the country's second most popular Hollywood blockbuster, sitting behind Adam Wingard's Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
Alien: Romulus is also on track to take Prometheus' top spot as the highest grossing horror film for IMAX!

The film is scheduled to open in Japan starting September 6th which will draw even more earnings and attention.
Assuming Alien: Romulus performs well enough for 20th Century Studios and Disney, Fede Alvarez has already expressed ideas for where a sequel could go. Whether he follows in the same vein as Romulus, or teams up with Dan Trachtenberg on a new Alien vs. Predator crossover - it's clear the Xenomorph still has a bright future in Hollywood.
