MemberOvomorph09/9/2011I stumbled upon this on the IMDB Prometheus message board. Apparently it has been bouncing around the web for a while. Not sure if you guys have seen it yet?
Check it out: (Notice the being next to the human...one of the transformed crew?)

MemberOvomorph09/9/2011I dunno, I mean the space Jockey looks cool, but the mutation looks like a disney attempt, mind you if it is a PG 13 like they claim then god knows what to expect. Also I just get the feeling that the Space Jockey will be something we just dont expect but great research though.

MemberOvomorph09/9/2011Thanks :)
I know what you mean. It just caught my eye because...well it looks sort of female (to me anyway). And I know it has been rumoured that (is it Theron or Rapace?) ends up becoming a Jockey at the end of the film.

MemberOvomorph09/9/2011Be very wary of IMDB as a lot of rubbish gets posted there.
As for the pictures, Scott has stated that the Space Jockey is in a suit with another creature inside, so I have my doubts with that image. The Jockeys could be any design they like.
The alien creature picture looks like something from AVATAR and not from the Alien universe.
If these are the designs I will be very, very disappointed.

MemberOvomorph09/9/2011I am disappointed with the inner-creature, but not with the SJ. I think the SJ looks pretty darn cool to be honest, I actually quite like the look of the double jointed legs.

MemberOvomorph09/10/2011Hey,
I think the designs of the Space Jockey look really impressive. I hope that this what we will see (Or similiar) in the firm because as THEUSPROM quoted it could be any design they like. But who can forget the famous scene in ALIEN of the Space Jockey in it's chair. This is what everyone wants to see and the story behind it. I was unsure at first about the mutation of a human turning into a Space Jockey or suit but it's starting to grow on me (- ish ha). Maybe we need something like this in the film and possibly this BEING inside the suit. Am sure whatever Ridley Scott's vision is for this it will be fascinating either way and we will not be disappointed. Cool pics though!!! ;)

MemberOvomorph09/10/2011Am just after looking at the leaked photos from Comic Con there again and there is one photo that sort looks like a small/ young Space Jockey that looks similar to the drawings above. (Okay might sound stupid at the moment ha) But looks like the same features as the legs and arms possibly. If you can't get looking at them at the moment i'll try and get the link up. But if you do find them i think you know which one am on about. The creature looks orange/ brown that seems to be walking out or in of a lab with the crew in the background.

MemberOvomorph09/12/2011i dunno Ridley is not in the habit of letting stuff leak, the original movie was a closed set, the man is a serious perfectionist.

MemberOvomorph09/12/2011@Sophie0413 yeah i understand what you mean. I even thought to myself that Ridley wouldn't give something like that away. Was just using my imagination when i saw the drawings and compared them to the stills released from the Comic Con. Maybe bit stupid ha ha.

MemberOvomorph09/12/2011Even if the illustration has no connection to Prometheus if you look at it from a biomechanical perspective it's quite fascinating. If its a chitinous exoskeleton, much like terrestrial insects. it would be both light weight and strong. The legs themselves could probably propel this creature from deck to deck aboard a space vessel with no need for ladders or other conveyance. It could simply leap like a nighmarish grasshopper. The carapace on the back contains at least eight armored passages that appear to be an atmospheric filtration system. That alone lends validity to the rumor that this is a biomechanical environmental suit. The deepset ocular cavities would be very prohitive regarding peripheral vision, but nature and science both find ways to compensate for any short comings.

MemberOvomorph09/13/2011@GHOST SOLITARE Thats a very indepth description from looking at the drawings but certainly made me look at the Space Jockey in a different light ha. Liked the idea that they possibly propel from deck to deck and light weight and nimble. Great imagination. Obviously were not sure if these are going to be what the Space Jockeys will look like but they do look brilliant i think. It would great to see something on scene like that. But also horrifing in some way :O

MemberOvomorph09/13/2011@Drogie21 The really scary thing is that this SJ can't turn at the waist. So if you are standing behind him he has to pivot to look at you. Hopefully he's not the lumbering docile giant that he would appear to be. As for terrestrial physiology legs are generally a reflection of the organisms environment. For instance animals that graze on tree's tend to have elongated lower limbs. A human stowaway wouldn't even be able to reach the controls on a SJ vessel, and more than likely they wouldn't respond to him. Just take a look at the length of those arms and imagine how wide, and how high this organism can reach. With all of these advantages I'm beginning to hope that it is lumbering, and docile. :)
