Please, nobody get mad at me if something like this has been posted. I was looking through a book of Giger's and found this picture, it was part of the proposal project Giger sent to Ridley Scott for Alien in 78. I am sure someone posted this image before but please take a look. It shows some beings surrounding an egg with a facehugger, they are not human and they clearly resemble the space jockey I believe. Then compare it to the other original image Giger did for the space jockey and compare the humanoids, it's uncanny , so many similarities , it must be them.... The Space Jockeys!!!! Thanks all for your time.

Absolute Proof that Time Travel does Exist... I found these while searching the internet for facts about Alien. http://www.magnoliclothiers.com/nostromo-pants-p-442.html It's no wonder Ripley was in her panties in the climactic last scene of Alien, some smarmy, little thief stole all the ships extra trousers.

the 2nd one has been my desktop for over 1 and 1/2 years now. I have absolutely loved Giger's work since I was first introduced to it during the first film and I must say he is not only extremely talented but one of the single "coolest" artists IMO I have ever checked out. I kept the Led Zeppelin Bootleg Album for "Nebworth" all these years and am still seeing new things in it today. I think you are absolutely right. Very cool. I think it's on the ALIEN Remastered Quadrilogy DVD set, in which they included each and every piece of artwork he submitted for the original film.

the ship was self destructing, hence the flames. Ripley had started the scuttle procedure it is written on the panel when she initiated self destruct. As an effect it looks like they were using the flamethrowers to simulate the slow destruction of the ship. as for people thinking it looks lame, hey! it was 1977 man!

I'm just looking at the image of Giger's Hierolglyphics painting in 'Giger's Alien' and a couple of things strike me... 1. The version that Apollo posted has a revised head on the 'humanoid' perring over the egg and with the facehugger and with the chestburster. In the original art, the humanoid appears to be wearing a space helmet in all three instances. I have heard before that this painting has been 'modified' - but why. The revised version does look more Space Jockey I agree, but I think it is too small if you compare against the egg. 2. Could it be that the creature arching over the painting is a version of the Space Jockeys that 'births' the eggs? Its mid-section does look odd and appears to be suggesting this is the case.

I remember this painting from way back, what springs to mind is that this was to be used in the movie, as a wall painting or sculpture within what was supposed to be the Alien Pyramid? Before the space jockey ship came into existence?
