MemberTrilobite12/11/2011@ SF - I think you have a point, It may not be how the SJ's are portrayed, but more how they are percieved by the humans/androids that will leave us with the question - are the SJ's a helpful race, a deviant race or an indifferent race.
As obi-wan said "what I told you was true, from a certain point of view", it is always about perspective.

MemberOvomorph12/11/2011I just hope to God this film doesn't end up like the prequel to 'The Thing'...
Show us more of the remote, cold worlds that birthed the first film but don't tell us everything.

MemberOvomorph12/11/2011that was supposedly just badly handled though, its not knowing or exposition that's bad, its the restrospective thought later on when you realise the backstory wasn't as good as you thought it would be

Mentos
MemberOvomorph12/11/20111.) Poor acting from Theron
2.) Overused CG
3.) Any of the crew members surviving in unrealistic circumstances
4.) Any poorly handled (too obvious) reference to Alien
5.) Anyone mentioning the words; "Nostromo", or "Ripley"
6.) A facehugger, chestburster, original Xeno or Queen making an appearance

Ripley Clone 8
MemberOvomorph12/11/2011I agree Mentos, one thing I hate if not the most is when a sequel or prequel or any film thats related to another series rips off classic scenes from the film or tries to rein-act the same scene/scenes over again. I have faith and trust in Ridley that he will make something original. The fact that H.R. Giger came back to do the set design and creature effects is also a plus. Ridley is a genius and an incredible filmmaker, so I'm not very concerned with any kind of poor scripting or acting. I'm pretty sure as well that there most likely won't be any references put into the movie regarding "Ripley" or the "Nostromo" nor any of the other plot elements from the other Alien movies, considering that the storyline in Prometheus takes place 30 years before the birth of Ellen Ripley. The only possible plot element they could use is the planet LV-426 where the Space Jockey and the derelict ship landed in the first Alien film and even then the Space Jockey is dead due to an Alien bursting out of its chest.

MemberOvomorph12/11/2011To see the filmmakers changing the film based on things people say in this thread or others. No compromise.

Shaka, When the walls fell
MemberOvomorph12/11/2011Pg13 will ruin this film, and fact that they've been flirting with it to allow teenies to be able to watch it is more scary than any plot they could come up with

MemberOvomorph12/14/2011Any reference to the AVP films will fuck me off big time.
Viddy well, little brother. Viddy well.

MemberOvomorph12/14/2011Besides the fear that a lower ratings bracket could compromise the integrity of the movie, I just hope Scott doesn't go overboard on the whole sexuality thing (e.g. humans romancing with the creatures, etc).

Mentos
MemberOvomorph12/14/2011I forgot to mention that.
The PG-13 rating is probably my biggest fear :/

Agent Mothman
MemberOvomorph12/17/2011Well it's official the Space Jockey is a suit, let us just hope that it is not a human.

MemberFacehugger12/17/2011If the punchline to the film is that everything has taken place in an alternative reality, like some other releases I'm not going to mention. That really would be bad.

Not_my_intention
MemberOvomorph12/18/2011Over use of cgi, I know this is Scott but knowing the money grubbing studio owners, they might make him use cgi for flashier effects, hope not :(
