On ALIEN and PROMETHEUS Fashion: Sleek and Sexy vs. Traditional and Cumbersome S

The space/environment suits in the released PROMETHEUS photos appear to be much more sleek and sexy, in comparison to the more traditional and cumbersome suits worn in the original ALIEN. Personally, I’m a big fan of the original Jean Giraud “Moebius” designs used in ALIEN. And, I do like the suit designs for this new film. My question is: Do the PROMETHEUS suit designs fit in to the ALIEN universe correctly? Since this new story is supposed to take place 30 years before the events of the original…why would the suits be more modern, formfitting, and ergonomically sound? They basically look like spaced-out wetsuits…which is cool…except that they seem to be an anachronism…in regard to the “ALIEN” universe. The suits in the original film looked similar to stuff used in the Apollo Missions…basically old-school deep sea diving gear with a sci-fi twist. Maybe the ‘Nostromo’ and its crew of “Space Truckers” just had old “hand me down” equipment...it's possible... Maybe I’m being a little nitpicky…but what do you guys think?
