HI Biomechanic, you have to put headphones on. You can distinguish two voices in the intro emerging from the static. Theron's voice fades in about three seconds, she's seriously in distress, and is frantic to contact the Prometheus, perhaps after the drop ship, which might be Magellan explodes showering those rocky plains with debris. Rapace isn't saying you don't understand. She's saying "You have to understand, I was wrong,....we were all wrong." It's like a log excerpt, or perhaps something she's recording her last thoughts before she runs out of oxygen. It's a terrible way to die regardless, I think I'd just seek out the nearest malevolent alien lifeform and offer myself up for a quick demise. They are not talking to one another. It's overlapping sound excerpts from the film. We don't disagree, I have nothing to prove, I KNOW WHAT I"M HEARING...end of thread. This is Ripley last surviving crew member of the commercial towing vessel Nostromo signing off.

Because I adore you Ghost Solitare I'll respond to your post. My poor dear, I know you don't give a rats ass about any forced impregnation by engineers, You also could care less about the historical significance of the name of the ship. You knew all along it was doomed, it's the inflated ego that thinks using a clever mythological referrance adds any validity to their art. I also recall you saying a long time ago that reading the old prometheus discussions was not only entertaining it kept you from repeating anything already written, sigh. My dear girl what can you expect you are surrounded by mortals. Even obeying this rule and knowing that RS is not going to respect the canon established after his own Alien film you find yourself wondering exactly what story he is going to tell us, well just wait a few months and you'll find out. Happy New Years my lovely Biosynthetic creatures, cheers!

How many are in that head of yours? : ) I would have responded but personally I am not hearing anyone say "prometheus" and I am doubtful of the "you don't understand" line. I have also seen no evidence of more than one human ship. We disagree on a lot it looks like. I probably won't know if I need a hearing aid until after the release of the movie. Hey someone should write to Fox and get the movie released earlier on humanitarian grounds. I can agree that it may be two different women talking but it might not even be to each other.

I am not trying to change your mind and I am open to what you are saying. I have analyzed them very scientifically though. I am up in the air about the "you don't understand" it could go either way. I was wondering if you read and listened to the audio clips I made here: You don't have to stop
Seems I am alone in most of my interpretation but I am cool with that.
P.S I listened to it with studio quality headphones slowed down and with EQ filters that isolates the vocal frequencies as much as possible.

I haven't listened to them and I am not in the least bit offended. I actually LIKE your posts, you are insightful, original, and damned open minded. I'm not saying that it's absolutely what's being said. It's just absolutely what I am hearing. I did read your postings, I just get very frustrated that nobody considers any of my questions or besides you and Spartacus gives me the coutesy of a read, a thought or a reply. I used to speak with Neurion but he was flamed so much in the threads he's sort of not around as much. Just saddens me that so many good ideas are submerged under the same contrite shallow theorists posting the same things in the wrong discussion forums over and over.

I am wearing Sennheiser HD 800's which are studio quality headphones, my rig itself is an Alienware Aurora. I'm an EVE online veteran pilot. So I tend to like high end equipment for my experience, this is what I listened to the trailer with. Mayhap my hearing is impaired from listening to such enhanced loud audio. Perhaps I am just hearing what I want to hear, or my brain is trying to recode the audio to fill in something undescernable. I dunno, I just want to wait and see, because both of those audio files coincide with what I am pretty sure is going to happen in the film.

BiomechanicJanuary 01, 2012
I think we can agree that a lot of times trailers dub the audio all out of context. They just cut and snip what they want so I didn't start out thinking the audio really made any sense in the first place
Just before I posted that thread I decided to enhance the audio and listen carefully and for some reason I heard "You don't have to stop" instead of the "You don't understand" or what I used to think it said from the leaked trailer "You've got to stop"
It is a different than the other statements, it is a whisper possibly another woman and it is a bit calmer. So I thought immediately that it might be from a scene where a women says it in response to a sexual advancement. Maybe human maybe not?
I am probably totally wrong and everyone else is right. Wouldn't be the first time that happened.

I agree about the sound being used out of sequence and Think it is a strong possibility like I said earlier that we may have just been spoon fed exactly what Scott wanted and in the way he wanted it done!!!
