Who is the Beardyman?

Ok so this Beardyman guy is absolutely key to the film I bet - but who is he and why does he look so bizarre? Here he is in one of the teaser trailers: [img]http://garrick.lesniakswann.com/beardyman1.png[/img] You can see his odd mohican style hair - and someone's trying to kill him with a flamethrower… so he scrambles up one of the APC in an in-human manner if you watch the trailer. Here he is, i presume only a second or two after the last screenshot - he's leaping off the APC he's just climbed up seconds before: [img]http://garrick.lesniakswann.com/beardyman2.png[/img] Here he is with fire damage BUT minus the helmet and chest/back carapace of his space suit. The top portion of his head is swollen and possibly mutating. this is taken from another of the teaser trailers: [img]http://garrick.lesniakswann.com/beardyman3.png[/img] I did think at first that the mutant was Holloway mutating after he'd been sprayed in the face with the substance as per the main trailer: [img]http://garrick.lesniakswann.com/halloway.png[/img] - but then i noticed the beard… so who is the mutant? I'm pretty sure he's gonna be the main protagonist here. The 'Engineer' seen in the below shot could still be a mutated human (Holloway). But I don't think 'Beardyman' and the 'Engineer' are the same creature at different points of mutation, like i once thought till i saw the beard - cuz the beard seems an odd addition to the mix….unsightly even.
