An interesting article about Prometheus

Let me know your thoughts.

Nothing in the Bible indicates that God was not an alien, higher life form, whatever - it was written from the point of view of people who experienced something they had nothing to reference it to and were describing things as best as thier limited understanding would allow. I don't think the "ancient aliens" theory would invalidate anything in the Bible.

typical babble. god is obviously a man made concept so if their premise is predicated on the existence of such a being, sorry, i won't be joining your cult.

Well i assume that god is eitherimmaterial
unlike the description in the bible
Or in another dimension also
Referred as heaven. Do doubt he
And the angels would be aliens XD
anyway. Its a movie and unlike
Ridleys Black Hawk Down not based
On human history but is a sci fi
Movie.

Those people are batshit crazy. I've seen UFO's, actually sat and stared at one with my ex on our way home one night from the movies (we'd just seen the original Spider-Man so aliens were the last thing on our minds,) it was just hovering above some houses for about 10 minutes and then started to drift off slowly. We weren't the only ones that saw it either, we were actually stopped at traffic lights when we spotted it and people were getting out of their cars to look at it. And it wasn't the first time I'd seen something like it either.
However, I've never seen an Angel, God or the Devil, nor met anyone that has.
When I do I'll start believing, but until then, and remember the End of Days is supposed to have happened a few times by now according to their little fiction, I'll hold onto the idea aliens created us. I actually thought this for years before I came across any of the books that other people had written on the subject.

"Is it dead this time?" "I dunno, poke it with this stick and see."

What a boring pseudo-religious viewpoint compared to all the interesting and thoughtful theories on this forum.

Cypher (and of course anyone else)
It's sad, but true that there are cults in existence that predict things like the end of days. They do many things that make believers look bad, or quite ignorant in most cases. They don't make us look ignorant because of what they actually are, they do it because they CLAIM to be Christians, or whatever group- without having a clue what they are talking about or having read the same Bible they are so busy thumping and claiming to believe.
I've never seen an angel either, that I know of. I would say most people would say the same.
I think that article shows more than some like to admit as well. It has many discrepancies and assumptions in it about the movie. But it also is wrong about much of the Bible verses it references, though no one has noticed those.
Don't try and group anyone who believes in God as being the same kind of lunatics that make headlines nowadays. We think they are just as crazy as you do.

Yes, along with the three-hootered chick from Total Recall. She is one of the jockeys and built the derelict with three hoohoos.

WOW. I have seen some intellectual arguments in favor of religion before, but his is not one of them.
Also, while I find the show "Ancient Aliens" entertaining I do realize its basically all loose theories (more fiction and little-to-no fact). But the same can be said of this guy's article. The "facts" he tries to illustrate by using Bible passages as accurate historical reference are worse than the "theories" used by the authors he's attacking. They rely on the reader already being "religious" (specifically Christian/Catholic/etc) and therefore being easily being won over by his so-called "obvious/clear" explanation of Bible stories . Than again I can't really blame him for his approach given that his article IS posted on a website devoted to further expansion of religion.

That article is fear filled, paranoid, dogmatic bullshit......Its so far detached from any kind of reality it freaks me out. Archaic crap.....

I believe Ridley Scott is way smarter than contemplating cooky theories of the "ancient astronaut type", not to mention religious gospel. He may be just trying to hype up some controversy to "put more dynamite" into the movie opening in my view. I could almost see a grin in his face when he is talking about this nonsense as if it were serious...
