I'm a newbie here and not sure how to open a new thread, but I have a question that I don't recall anyone addressing so far: in the trailer, the guy (Holloway) get's his face spayed with acid, but it's pretty clear his helmet is still intact.Any thoughts on what is happening exactly?

@Aquila210 YES, it most likely that this will not happen. Maybe those voices are just dialogues and were decorated with interference to give more suspense and mystery to the trailer. Turn can be transmitted from the Prometheus communications to alert the explorers, and unfortunately missing 121 days to know lol

@markcbelfats I think that Holloway is mutating, possibly infected by the substance containing the Urns/ampules. With respect to threads, go up and to your right you will find a list of the categories: Prometheus discussions, Community discussion and Alien discussion...after clicking on one of them see a list of topics lso have already been... above the long list on the right side you will see the word New Topic, you click and you can make a new thread. [img]http://www.avpspectrum.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10001/normal_028.jpg[/img] The reason I ask is no one seems to really be able to tell if that is Holloway in the 1st pic, but it appears that it is him in the 2nd (see ...WAY at the end of the nameplate on his 'cap'). There is the assumption the 1st and 2nd pic are connected, but I still don't think anyone is sure. As to how the 'acid' or 'infection' gets to them while their helmet is on... I honestly have no ideas other than whatever is in the ampules is the most likely culprit.

@Membrane I have read rumors that the first photo (of smoke) is the mutant Guy [img]http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x368/bipolarestancia/beardyman2.png[/img] But anyway it is very likely that the subject is Holloways

Shambhala, I've read the same theories. You know, they really did a great job on the trailer where it introduces so many questions, yet no information that could lead to solid answers were ever given.

I think the mutant jumping guy and the guy in the shot with the woman collapsing in the med bay (not David and not the guy in the wheelchair, the guy on the floor next to the guy in the wheelchair) are the same guy. Reason being is that the guy in the medbay bit and the mutant both have mohawks. That's what I reckon anyways.

@Membrane Ya, the Working with this trailer has been magnificent, zero answers dozens of questions (perhaps hundreds lol) And @Cypher interesting point, interesting point, I did not notice the subject in the laboratory / nursing with the mohawk

Thanks for the translations guys, @Aquila210 and @Shambhala....very interesting stuff. And I love the theory about Shaw's trailer dialogue being translated by the SJ as the signal in 'Alien', very thought provoking.

Has anywone notice that the mutant's eyes are "leaving him"?.....

@danrald - I don't see the eyes "leaving" him but I do see that his head is "splitting" and appears to be elongated and blackish-silver. Is the "infection" from the ampule changing him into something non-human AND non-sj?

Could be that the ampule contains the DNA a humanoid/Gods and when exposed to a already formed human that it reverts the subject slowly back to its original form. Neolithic man/ape perhaps. Just a theory....and not really a good one but its all I've got. The mutant seems quite ape like and posesses the basic instincts to attack. Ahhh the wait is doing my head in.............!!!

Jbsmit3, Blackish-silver? I'm going to have to look at that again.. Looks like his eyes are gone to me.. but its been a while since I've looked.. lol.

@Shambhala: That is a good png with good resolution. You just need to open the picture in new window to see it in full resolution and things become clearer. @Membrane: If the jumping guy is the same as the smoking helmet/burning face guy. Then there should be a big scar on the left (his right) side of the forehead. The thing burning is just above the left eye. With the jumping beardyman there is something in the middle of the forehead. @danrald: his eyes are still there, they are almost closed in the picture. But they´ve sunken as if he has been loosing fat/soft tissue on his face. It is possible his head has elongated towards the back but it is unclear in the picture. Top of his head looks bigger in proportions than face but the missing fat tissue could be the reason. @jbsmit3@gmail.com: If you look at the picture in full resolution it looks to me the guy has a reddish cut/streak of blood on his forehead. To me it looks like a cut not mutation. The guy has beard. This gives 3 possibilities. 1: So he had it already when they landed and then this is a totally new unidentified character. 2: He has been comatose/critical and the beard has grown during that time. 3: He has been out on the planet for a while without a shave and has now returned to attack the crew. The time it takes to grow a beard like that... few months? If he´s been without a shave then his mohawk should be gone with hairgrowth (1cm/month). So me thinks he had the beard all along and the change in him has been relatively fast. I think this is a character yet to be identified and there has to be at least two guys with mohawks (the other one in med bay had no beard).

If you zoom in as close as possible without distorting the picture it is quite clear that behind the "split" in his head is an elongated silvery-black protrusion. Reminds me of the head of original alien. Have to wait 117 more days to know.....
