I think it has more to do with an underplayed intelligence possessed by the alien. It's far smarter than it usually gets credit for and I think that as the ships emergency alerts and warnings sounded around it, the alien was smart enough to understand, at the very least, that it needed leave its location and the Narcissuss was the closest open alernative.....also, the flames shooting out of the substructure in the cooridor as Ripley runs into the shuttle may have driven the alien there as well.....in either case, whatever the cause specifically, it forced the alien to ignore Jones and move on......

All predatory animals instinctively recognize prey animals. I'm guessing the zeno has the same ability, or either decided such a small prize wasn't worth the effort. A cow, deer, or fat dude wouldn't have stood a chance behind bulletproof glass...

I agree I think they're very intelligent. It very well could have understood the emergency lights and sounds and known, at least, been proturded enough to move its location. The narcissuss could've been a place where it felt safe with all the heckit shit going on.

I would love to see a schematic, or an actual animation, showing the entire layout of the Nostromo, along with the movements of the crew members, and the projected/estimated movements of the xenomorph. And have a clock ticking on the bottom of the screen, encompassing the entire 24 hour period.

@Deathspock I think that idea is brilliant. It would be so cool to see a skelletal bluprint/cross-section of the Nostromo that moves and shows the crew and xeno's movements, death location etc etc. Hell maybe some day they will show something like that as a bonus add on on what ever medium/format theyu choose to release the quadrilogy on next.

It does take a swipe at the catbox though.........

You could always use the blueprints from the Alien Vault to help you out maybe try to launch that cool idea off!
