The Derelict/Space Jockey Scene; Could We All have It Backwards?

Bit of a big hole for a Facehugger though isn't Sparky... Surely there is a proper way into the egg chamber.

Nope, it's right about the same size, although a bit bigger, color and grated orientation as the one on made over Newts Crio-Chamber On the Sulaco In Alien3.

We are on about the hole that Kane is lowered down through, which was big enough for a fully suited man to pass through, and looked more akin to the black acid-burnt holes in the Hadleys Hope colony in Aliens, and the hole made from the cut Facehugger aboard the Nostromo. Whereas Newts cryo-pod in alien 3 had a few dark green burns more akin to scratches.

ok I can live with that, but the orientation of that burn makes it harder now for me to believe something came up first rather than down through that hole and became the equivalent of a Bad Lunch for the SJ...LOL.

True, but the facehuggers can spit acid, and if it spat enough it could theoretically burn that hole (think of damage caused in Alien from one little splash)... Acid spat from underneath... Eats through the metal... because of gravity it drips downwards while the acid spreads upwards... Viola

I want to see one do it, I think that idea is so cool, maybe I have already and didn't relaize it was what I was seeing...hmmmm...curious...

We have seen it, well kind of... Alien 1979... Egg opens, Kane leans forward and peers in. Whip, whoosh. The facehugger jumps onto Kanes helmet with so much force it knocks him backward, as it does so it smashes through the glass of the helmet with its proboscis and thrusts it down Kanes throat... fastforward to the sick bay... Kane is led down on the bed still wearing his helmet, but the Facehugger is no longer grasping the helmet, it has spat acid at the helmets glass, melting it, and is now inside the helmet hold Kanes head with its tail around his neck.

I always thought of that as the huggers nartural residue, and that anything it sits on long enough will start to be effected by that acid and melt, not sure that would be the same as controlled and directional spitting used to cut open a doorway but O.K....for you I'll run with it...hehehehe...

Natural residue, def a no-no, it would burn through the egg and the hosts face, and anything else for that matter. Also in Alien 3 the crew were ejected into the EEV because of an electrical fire caused by acid burns, which will be from the Facehugger attempting (in the case of Ripley, succeeding) to gain access to a host.

agreed, and...they have to let out that secreted acid somehow...
