They're in a gym!

At the start of the trailer when the crew are getting briefed, there's treadmills in the background and basketball markings on the ground. They're in a gym! - they only get briefed on the way to the planet - orientation is ON THE PROMETHEUS! I'm not sure if this is remotely important but I thought it was worth a mention. Why wouldn't they tell them before they set off, and who would volunteer for a deep space mission with no knowledge of its objectives?

No, their in the loading area. On my ship, the helo bay was also our gym area. :-D

While this briefing could easily be pre departure, the prometheus was probably assembled in space.

Yeah the cargo bay is being used as a gym, point is they didn't know why they were going. @Royal-jelly that is true - mercenaries are probably the ONLY people who would volunteer

Maybe they are all volunteers, for different reasons. Or maybe they are all Weyland's employees, and they have to go because their contracts require them to. Interesting question!

Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born. Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

I see a team of very involved scientist (Shaw and her partner - the ones giving the lecture) / then you have the ships operational crew / and finally the people with guns (mechs. = money = danger) and finally the corporate androids (David / Vickers - who will gather and ensure all information and samples make it back to the corporate research division).

You don't see Vickers in these shots do we. Seems it is definitely on the ship though. I am assuming they are only getting the briefing years after being employed for the mission due to it being top-secret.
