MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 3:10 PMHi all Prometheus Fans. In the Prometheus Trailers I think I may have found a Chestburster.

Look behind the Human in the picture below. It look's like the Chestburster is being grabbed by some sort of claw.

Look's uncomfortable, so much wriggling around.
But it also looks like a really smooth snake with blood steins on it's skin. Do you think it's a Chestburster. Yes/No please tell me in the Comments/Replies below.
Sorry if somebody else has mentioned this but I just thought I'd share it.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 4:20 PMMe too Shane. The facehugger/chestburster/xeno is very much been there, done that.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 5:00 PMIt's not a chestburster. Why does everyone use the same image. If you grab the new trailer off apple in HD and pause it you get a clear shot of it. The thing is smooth and featureless except for two tentacles or legs.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 7:59 PMI hate to be that guy on the threads but a chestburster would imply it was coming out of the humans chest. And imo, it doesnt look like a chestburster, it looks like something else entirely. It looks connected somehow around the abdomen. Looks bloody too. Rough day indeed.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 8:29 PMI feel safer already......I had exactly the same concern....it is a very disturbing thought that the table is closing in on her rather than opening up......what on earth would be the reasoning behind that and..........OH MY GOODNESS..........it just popped in my head like a wishbone......
Shaw is infected with something...we know that much..there's the thing in her belly...and the computer diagnostic shot as well....she's on that table and either gives birth or its removed from her and SOMEONE chooses to close that table in on her...horrible things happen that no one is privy to other than the guilty party....

she gets bloodied up but manages to get out....

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 10:27 PMAfter reading the posts about this thing and after looking ant the pics, screen grabs and trailer many times i have come to the conclusion that what people are seeing and believing is 2 tentacles is nothing more than a reflection of the tail in the curved glass of the tube she is in.
This thing does not have two tentacles but one tail that is being reflected in the glass, in my opinion this is either a chestburster or a big version of one of the worms that was in the eye.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 10:35 PMReally, definitely a chest burster? Since when is an opinion a definite fact? Could it be a form of chest burster/ xeno, yes. Definitely? No.
By the way, since when did chest bursters start having umbilical cords attached to their host?
If you guys would go back and take time to actually read through recent posts you would find that this has been discussed a dozen different times already with the same pics, theories and comments. Actually this thread hasn't conjured up the pic of Shaws post op suture scar yet.
I don't understand why these threads can't be merged into one when a new one pops up instead of having a daily repeat.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 10:53 PMIn answer to your question "since when did chest bursters start having umbilical cords attached to their host?" that started in alien resurrection the queen has an umbilical cord attached to ripley witch you see getting cut.
And i did not say it was definitely a chest burster i said it could be a chest burster or a big version of one of the worms.
The point i was trying to make was that it only has one tail what people think is a second tail or tentacle is just a reflection in the curved glass .

I concur.
Me thinks with all what I have been hearing about this movie getting a PG 13 rating most of what will be disturbing in this movie will be what is implied...rather the grander ideas will be more shocking than the gore.
With the likes of video games like Dead Space, Doom 3 and the Resident Evil series pretty much of all the shocking imagery spawned by movies such as Aliens and the Thing has been sucked dry.
Prometheus would have to come up with something aesthetically and viscerally revolutionary in order to keep a very much de-sensitized audience interested, unless of course, like I mentioned above Ridley goes against the grain and against current trends and engages us by activating regions of our brain not yet atrophied by over-stimulation.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 11:26 PM@winghop777: The scene of the prayting is just before this "birth". Shaw knows she's got something inside and is terrified. So the only thing she can do in that moment is pray and rush into the medlab afterwards...

MemberOvomorphMar-27-2012 2:27 AMI wish people would stop saying "Been there done that".......from the Prometheus crew point of view none of the Alien franchise has happened yet so of course were going to see familiar thing, just from the point of its origin thats all. Whos to say that the original chestburster wasnt a smooth worm like creature that developed into what we know. And the chestburster only comes from the chest because that is where its planted by the Facehugger. What if a facehugger planted it up yer ass? Or in your ear......so it could be a chestburster as thats the only description that we give to the infant Xenomorph isnt it?

MemberOvomorphMar-27-2012 3:04 AMActually ive just looked at the new trailer and the pod with the lady in it thrashing around is opening, perhaps somebody finds her and releases the lock to let her out. Perhaps the chestburster was placed intentionally with her in a vice to observe how the Xenomorph develops.

MemberOvomorphMar-27-2012 3:19 AMIf that is Shaw, she must be mutating as well because she has the strength to break the straps.Look by her right hand.

Yes, I do understand your displeasure with other people's perceived grumpiness, but in the end who really wants to see a movie about a movie we have already seen though from the perspective of new characters?
One would have to be really clever to pull that one off; the vicarious experiencing of experiencing something new through the eyes of a movie character.
